Slowdown Therapy

1. Slow down. You are not responsible for doing it all yourself, right
now.

2. Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there. Each moment
has richness that takes a lifetime to savor.

3. Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, it's OK to tell them
they're pushing.

4. Take nothing for granted: watch water flow, the corn grow, the leaves
blow, your neighbor mow.

5. Taste your food. Nature provides it to delight as well as to nourish.

6. Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set. They are remarkable
for their steady pattern of movement, not their speed.

7. Quit planning how you're going to use what you know, learn, or
possess. Your gifts just are; be grateful and their purpose will be
clear.

8. When you talk with someone, don't think about what you'll say next.
Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.

9. Talk and play with children. It will bring out the unhurried little
person inside you.

10. Create a place in your home, at your work, in your heart where you
can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it.

11. Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive. Rest isn't luxury;
it's a necessity.

12. Listen to the wind blow. It carries a message of yesterday and
tomorrow-and now. NOW counts.

13. Rest on your laurels. They bring comfort whatever their size, age, or
condition.

14. Talk slower. Talk less. Don't talk. Communication isn't measured by
words.

15. Give yourself permission to be late sometimes. Life is for living,
not scheduling.

16. Listen to the song of a bird; the complete song. Music and nature are
gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.

17. Take time just to think. Action is good and necessary, but it's
fruitful only if we muse, ponder, and mull.

18. Make time for play - the things you like to do. Whatever you r age,
your inner child needs re-creation.

19. Watch and listen to the night sky. It speaks.

20. Listen to the words you speak, especially in prayer.

21. Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders. There
will always be new opportunities for you to step out in front again.

22. Divide big jobs into little jobs.

23. When you find yourself rushing and anxious, stop. Ask yourself "WHY?"
you are rushing and anxious. The reasons may improve your
self-understanding.

24. Take time to read. Thoughtful reading is enriching reading.

25. Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed and
efficiency. The best musician is one who plays with expression and
meaning, not the one who finishes first.

26. Take a day off alone; make a retreat. You can learn from monks and
hermits without becoming one.

27. Pet a furry friend. You will give and get the gift of now.
< br> 28. Work with your hands. It frees the mind.

29. Take time to wonder. Without wonder, life is merely existence.

30. Sit in the dark. It will teach you to see and hear, taste and smell.

31. Once in a while, turn down the lights, the volume, the throttle, the
invitations. Less really can be more.

32. Let go. Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do - but often it is
the best.

33. Take a walk-but don't go anywhere. If you walk just to get somewhere,
you sacrifice the walking.

34. Count your friends. If you have one, you are lucky. If you have more,
you are blessed. Bless them in return.

35. Count your blessings - one at a time and slowly.

DESIRE IS THE STARTING POINT FOR SUCCESS

The first thing that will contribute to reaching your goal
is that you simply want to reach it badly enough.
You must learn how to desire with sufficient intensity to be successful.

If you have the desire you have the power to attain success.
You can really have anything you want in life if you go after it.
But you have to want it.

As a drowning soul desires air,
as a shipwrecked person craves fresh water,
so must you feel that intense, eager, insistent, demanding,
ravenous desire for your success.

Your desire for success must be so strong within you
that it becomes the very breath of your life.
It must be your first thought when you wake up,
and your last thought when you go to bed at night.

You can have anything you want if you go after it with intensity.

Heaven

Miracle
"The Earth is beautiful. If you start living its beauty, enjoying its
joys with no guilt in your heart, you are in paradise. If you condemn
everything, every small joy, then the same Earth turns into a hell.
It is a question of your own inner transformation. It is not a change
of place, it is a change of inner space. Live joyously, guiltlessly,
live totally, live intensely. And then heaven is no more a
metaphysical concept, it is your own experience" ~ Osho

Make this an affirmative day!

Greetings on the 29th day of October with the theme of
Freedom. This is an Integrating/Embodying Affirmation in
the last days of the month. Make this an affirmative day!

Remember, this DailyAffirm List will end on October 31. Be

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes to Freedom!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
Simply yes. Yes to freedom. When you keep your attention on
what you desire, less attention or energy is given to those
things that you do not desire. While you are evolving your
awareness, you might from time to time say "no" to
non-freedom, however, as your consciousness continues to
lift, saying no becomes less and less necessary because more
of what you want will be coming to you. With millions of
answers and possibilities, your job is to recognize the
situations that are good for you, the ones you want to say
"yes" to. It is sometimes interesting to know what others
find helpful, what others say "yes" to, yet you are
responsible for creating your experiences through the
thoughts and ideas to which you personally say "yes."

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
So, to what will you say "yes" today? Will you say "yes" to
freedom? Consider the many yeses that lead you to true
freedom. Every decision is a choice. Do not fall victim to
the erroneous and currently-popular belief that "I am
supposed to say 'yes' to everything that comes to me."
Instead, know that you are to discern whether those things
that come to you are the things that you desire, and say yes
to them. You will know those things by their resonance.
You have a particular resonance. Freedom has a particular
resonance. Every thing has a resonance. Do you know when
to say "yes, this is for me"? When you truly know this,
saying "no" is rarely necessary because your attention is
mainly on those things to which you have already said yes.

Struggle

A man found a cocoon of an emperor moth. He took it home so that he could
watch the moth come out of the cocoon.

On that day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the moth for
several hours as the moth struggled to force the body through that little
hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it
had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. It just seemed
to be stuck.

Then the man, in his kindness, decided to help the moth, so he took a
pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The
moth then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled
wings.

The man continued to watch the moth because he expected that, at any
moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the
body, which would contract in time. Neither happened!

In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life crawling around with
a swollen body and shriveled body and s hriveled wings. It never was able
to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the
restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the moth to get through
the tiny opening was the way of forcing fluid from the body of the moth
into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its
freedom from the cocoon.

Freedom and flight would only come after the struggle. By depriving the
moth of a struggle, he deprived the moth of health.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life.

If we were to go through our life without any obstacles, we would be
crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

Give every opportunity a chance.

YOU ONLY GET TO KEEP WHAT YOU GIVE AWAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a universal law: You have to give before you get.
You must plant your seeds before you reap the harvest.
The more you sow, the more you will reap.
In giving to others, you will find yourself blessed.

The law works to give you back more than you have sown.
Those that obtain have little.
Those who scatter have much.
The giver's harvest is always full.

Nature does not give to those who will not spend.
This is the time of year to show appreciation to those you love.

Talking

- From the 'Prophet'

"You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts;

And when you can no longer dwell in the solitude of your heart you live
in your lips, and sound is a diversion and a pastime.

And in much of your talking, thinking is half murdered. For thought is a
bird of space, that in a cage of words many indeed unfold its wings but
cannot fly.

There are those among you who seek the talkative through fear of being
alone. The silence of aloneness reveals to their eyes their naked selves
and they would escape.

And there are those who talk, and without knowledge or forethought reveal
a truth which they themselves do not understand.

And there are those who have the truth within them, but they tell it not
in words. In the bosom of such as these the spirit dwells in rhythmic
silence.

When you meet your friend on the roadside or in the market place, let the
spirit in you move your lips and direct your tongue. L et the voice
within your voice speak to the ear of his ear;

For his soul will keep the truth of your heart as the taste of the wine
is remembered When the colour is forgotten and the vessel is no more."

YOUR ASPIRATIONS ARE YOUR POSSIBILITIES

You have to think big if you want to be big.
Your only limits are those of vision.
The more you can dream, the more you can do.

Big thinking will always come before big achievement.
The greatest achievements always take place
in the framework of great expectations.

If you don't have a dream,
how are you going to make it come true?
Cherish your dreams for they are the blueprints to your ultimate success.

The empire of your future resides inside you.
When you cease to dream, you cease to live.

Look for the gifts

"In school you get the lesson and then take the test ... In life you take the test and then get the lesson."

-- Unknown Source

"When it is dark enough, you can see the stars."

-- Charles Beard

How is a problem in your life really an opportunity?

Problems invite us to go inside to recognize a bigger picture of ourselves and of life. This bigger picture brings meaning to what is unfolding. When you feel trapped in a problem, see if you can shift your perspective. Ask yourself, “What is my soul inviting me to learn from this situation?” The answer will always revolve around a quality or value, like gratitude, freedom, compassion, love, will, humour or acceptance. The answer will also always promote union rather than separation.

As soon as we find the meaning in our challenge, our resistance to it melts away. Often, awareness of the lesson is all that is needed to resolve the problem. If not, the awareness brings us courage and ways to work through it.

"The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life."

-- Dalai Lama

"Out of clutter, find Simplicity. From discord, find Harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity."

-- Albert Einstein

Find peace inside

"All spiritual disciplines are done with a view to still the mind. The perfectly still mind is universal spirit."

-- Swami Ramdas

Getting into the habit of meditating, praying and/or resting daily helps us pull back from our preoccupation with the material world. In silence and solitude, we have an opportunity to pay attention to what’s happening inside rather than outside.

When we do this consistently, we learn to relax and to quiet and detach from our mental chatter and our turbulent emotions. As we begin to witness ourselves in personality, we also begin to experience our soul.

"Meditation may require a lifetime to master, but it will have been a lifetime well spent. ... If you want to judge your progress, ask yourself these questions: Am I more loving? Is my judgment sounder? Do I have more energy? Can my mind remain calm under provocation? Am I free from the conditioning of anger, fear, and greed? Spiritual awareness reveals itself as eloquently in character development and selfless action as in mystical states."

I draw a circle of freedom around me. I fill the circle

Sonnet # XCIV.

They that have power to hurt and will do none,
That do not do the thing they most do show,
Who, moving others, are themselves as stone,
Unmoved, cold, and to temptation slow,
They rightly do inherit heaven's graces
And husband nature's riches from expense;
They are the lords and owners of their faces,
Others but stewards of their excellence.
The summer's flower is to the summer sweet,
Though to itself it only live and die,
But if that flower with base infection meet,
The basest weed outbraves his dignity:
For sweetest things turn sourest by their deeds;
Lilies that fester smell far worse than weeds.

Responsibility brings power

"To be tested is good. The challenged life may be the best therapist."

-- Gail Sheehy

What holds you back from being all that you are?

In your journal, list at least 5 things that hold you back.

Now review your answers. Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself?

It's important to understand that ALL obstructions are rooted in our internal blocks. Even the problems that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back to us problems we have inside. Once we address our inner issues, the outer problems disappear.

Be personally accountable for everything in your life and watch your perspectives shift. We claim our power when we accept responsibility for our lives.

"Conscious evolution begins as we take responsibility for clearing our own obstructions."

-- Dan Millman

Inspired to change?

Are you getting the most benefit from these short Inner Journeys? Here are some ways to progressively stimulate more and more growth and change from these messages:

- Read them quickly for momentary inspiration and move on to the next email.
- Print them and keep them visible so you are conscious of the message during the day.
- Take just 30 seconds and write in your journal as little as one word or a few sentences about how you connect with each message.
- Take just 3 to 5 minutes to relax, reflect and contemplate on the messages that touch you. And then write a short note in your journal.
- When a message really hits home, make the effort to explore the program that delves into that topic more deeply.

At a minimum, if a message strikes any nerve at all, take a few seconds to become aware of what nerve was struck and what it means to you.

This process builds awareness, and awareness brings change and growth - automatically!

"Everyone stumbles over the truth from time to time, but most people pick themselves up and hurry off as though nothing ever happened."

-- Sir Winston Churchill

Sonnet # XCIII.

So shall I live, supposing thou art true,
Like a deceived husband; so love's face
May still seem love to me, though alter'd new;
Thy looks with me, thy heart in other place:
For there can live no hatred in thine eye,
Therefore in that I cannot know thy change.
In many's looks the false heart's history
Is writ in moods and frowns and wrinkles strange,
But heaven in thy creation did decree
That in thy face sweet love should ever dwell;
Whate'er thy thoughts or thy heart's workings be,
Thy looks should nothing thence but sweetness tell.
How like Eve's apple doth thy beauty grow,
if thy sweet virtue answer not thy show!

Discover the treasures inside

"You wander from room to room
Hunting for the diamond necklace
That is already around your neck!"

-- Jalal-Uddin Rumi

Peace, joy, health and well-being can only be found inside us. They exist within us now, waiting to be discovered. Yet we tend to look to the outside world to satisfy our needs and longings.

Our outer life reflects back to us the way we think, feel and behave. The outer world is all effects. Go to the source inside for all of life’s treasures.

How are you searching for peace and contentment outside of yourself?

"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."

-- Denis Waitley

"It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere."

-- Agnes Repplier

Make this a courageous week-plus!

Greetings on the 4th week of October with the theme of Freedom. During this fourth week we focus on Acting/Claiming Affirmations, and the last days of the month we focus on Integrating/Embodying Affirmations.

ABOUT ACTING/CLAIMING AFFIRMATIONS and FREEDOM
 It is natural to associate freedom (or lack of freedom) with actions -- our own and others'. You can measure your level of freedom or your perception of your level of freedom by the things you do and say. During this week, you have the opportunity to decide what actions to take so that you can claim your freedom. These can be little acts, tiny steps; or these can be bigger acts, stronger steps. You do not need to push beyond your comfort level OR you may decide that the encouragement of this week's affirmations allows you to be courageous beyond your imagination. Act in the name of pure freedom. Act in the consciousness of freedom.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS What is the one act that symbolizes freedom for you? Perhaps it is an act that you see portrayed in a film or acted out by a neighbor or demonstrated by a friend. Perhaps it is an act you have hoped you will someday have the courage to take. Perhaps you consider it big; perhaps, little. Perhaps it is not an action in the conventional sense of the word. As you identify this act or non-act, also identify a symbol that you can easily remember: a circle or triangle, a flower or tree, a name or face, a phrase or word, a sound or song. Experience this symbol as you reflect on the act of freedom. Any time you feel restricted or limited, connect with the symbol and feel freedom come into your consciousness.

ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week to represent being and intending for freedom, I would choose the affirmation for October 23: "I act with freedom in my heart. I speak with freedom on my lips. I walk with freedom in my feet." For me, this affirmation demands alignment on all levels, especially heart, speech, and actions. Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or some combination. You will receive each of these affirmations on the appropriate days with additional information and suggestions. Make your process work for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October 22: Freedom energizes my actions. I step out in freedom.
October 23: I act with freedom in my heart. I speak with freedom on my lips. I walk with freedom in my feet. October 24: I claim my freedom. Today, I claim my power.
October 25: I manifest all things in association with freedom. I am the creator of my experiences.
October 26: I draw a circle of freedom around me. I fill the circle with love and light.
October 27: I let every act be an act of freedom.
October 28: I act with purposeful awareness of freedom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT INTEGRATING/EMBODYING AFFIRMATIONS and FREEDOM These affirmations help you to take time to incorporate the energy and concepts of freedom into your life. Reflect upon, meditate with, and sort out ideas about freedom. Those ideas that fit, keep and embody. Those ideas that do not fit, reject or put aside knowing they will return if needed at a later time. Exercise your free will in all parts of your life, including this DailyAffirm Process. ABOUT YOUR PROCESS As you reflect upon the last four weeks, what did you find the most meaningful? In addition to learning about freedom, what else have you learned? What do you want to release? What do you want to keep? What more do you wish to know about freedom? How can you experience what you desire to  know? Here are the affirmations for the remaining days of the month:
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October 29: Yes to Freedom!
October 30: I integrate freedom into every aspect of life.
October 31: Today is an opportunity for freedom.

Reflection

"Seek not to change the world,
but choose to change your mind about the world.
What you see reflects your thinking.
And your thinking but reflects your choice
of what you want to see."
~A Course In Miracles

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU BELIEVE

There are no real barriers to your success.
You must simply overcome any doubts you have about your ability.
Your self image prescribes the limits for your accomplishments.
It prescribes the area of what is possible for you.

Don't be afraid of living.
Believe that life is worth living
and you will create that fact around you.
If you see yourself as prosperous, you will be.
If you see yourself as broke, that is exactly what you will be.

You will never succeed
until you believe you can succeed.
You can be who you want to be.

The world is your mirror.

summer sky
The good you find in others, is in you too.
The faults you find in others, are your faults as well.
After all, to recognize something you must know it.

The possibilities you see in others, are possible for you as well. The
beauty you see around you, is your beauty. The world around you is a
reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.

To change your world, you must change yourself. To blame and complain

See the best in others, and you will be your best. Give to others, and

"Sing Your Own Song"

"Since you are like no other being ever created since the beginning of time, you are incomparable."

-- Brenda Ueland

Great forces are directing you to conform to the patterns of your society. You have DNA that has been handed down from generation to generation, coding repeated behaviour patterns into your being. You have archetypal energies setting the standards for how you behave as a man or a woman, as husband or wife, as father or mother .... You are immersed in consensual reality, whereby the world around you reflects societal understanding of how life has been and is to be.

At the same time, you have an even greater force within you inspiring you to wake up and recognize the reality of who you are. This force, the creative power underlying the entire universe, is urging you to create brand new standards of reality.

The status quo is blind to our creative power. Create a brand new world for yourself, one that meets your deepest needs, and you will help raise the quality of consciousness of the entire world.

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

-- Gandhi

Freedom and empowerment enhance all my thoughts and feelings.

Sonnet # XCII.

But do thy worst to steal thyself away,
For term of life thou art assured mine,
And life no longer than thy love will stay,
For it depends upon that love of thine.
Then need I not to fear the worst of wrongs,
When in the least of them my life hath end.
I see a better state to me belongs
Than that which on thy humour doth depend;
Thou canst not vex me with inconstant mind,
Since that my life on thy revolt doth lie.
O, what a happy title do I find,
Happy to have thy love, happy to die!
But what's so blessed-fair that fears no blot?
Thou mayst be false, and yet I know it not.

My Electricity

water
I send your name
up into the sky
And the wind blows it back into my face

You see, even nature
reacts on me
And all my electricity
will make it across your sea

With every wave the sea makes
My body gets weaker
and weaker.... and weaker..

You see, even nature
reacts on me
And all my electricity
will make it across your sea

And provides you
with my love

IT'S ALWAYS A GOOD TIME TO CHANGE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first step toward getting somewhere
is to decide that you're not going to stay where you are.

You're a product of your environment.
So choose an environment that will best develop you toward your goals.

Analyze your life in terms of your environment.
Are the things around you helping you toward your success
or are they holding you back?

Your world today is a living expression
of how you are using and have used your mind.
It's something that you can change at any time.

You don't have to remain a captive of your environment.
Don't say "If I could change, I would change,"
say "I can change, and I will change."

Some glory in their birth, some in their skill,
Some in their wealth, some in their bodies' force,
Some in their garments, though new-fangled ill,
Some in their hawks and hounds, some in their horse;
And every humour hath his adjunct pleasure,
Wherein it finds a joy above the rest:
But these particulars are not my measure;
All these I better in one general best.
Thy love is better than high birth to me,
Richer than wealth, prouder than garments' cost,
Of more delight than hawks or horses be;
And having thee, of all men's pride I boast:
Wretched in this alone, that thou mayst take
All this away and me most wretched make.

NEVER SAY NEVER

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no such thing as no chance.
Don't think about the things you can't do.
Think about the things you can do.

No matter what the level of your ability is,
you have more potential than you can ever develop in a lifetime.

You have powers you never dreamed of.
You can do things you never thought you could do.
There are no limitations to what you can do
except the limitations of your own mind.

Your range of available choices right now is limitless.
Look at things as they can be.

Make this an intentional day!

Greetings on the 18th day of October with the theme of
Freedom. This is a Being/Intending Affirmation in the third
week of the month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October 18:
My mission is to bring freedom to my world joyously. I
hold an intention to embody freedom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Giving When it Counts

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know
a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious
disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion
from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same
disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness.

The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the
little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw
him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying,

"Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."

As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and
smiled, as we all did, seeing the colour returning to her cheeks. Then
his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and
asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?"

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he
was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save
her.

You see, after all, understanding and attitude, are everything.

Masters teach that we can experience two completely different states of reality at the same time -- from the personality and from the soul.

Author Pema Chödron talks about being hungry, cold and tired but at that same time deeply content. Ram Dass speaks of how the emotional heart can be breaking while we recognize that all is unfolding perfectly.

Allowing our soul to be present with the discomforts of the personality shifts our experience of the discomforts.

"True self simply refers to the aspect of our being that is completely aware of its expanded nature no matter what we may be experiencing in our lives."

Use your breath to relax your body

"Breath is the link between the inner and outer worlds."

-- Alice Christensen

We live in very demanding times, and our health depends on our being able to relieve our bodies and minds from constant stress. Breathing with awareness can focus and concentrate our attention inside. This slows down our pace and eases the pressure, anxiety, anticipation and excitement that are common stress reactions.

At any time, you can consciously experience your breathing to help you concentrate your mind and relax your body. Compare how you feel after your session with how you felt before. Write about your experience in your journal.

"Controlled deep breathing helps the body to transform the air we breathe into energy. The stream of energized air produced by properly executed and controlled deep breathing produces a current of inner energy which radiates throughout the entire body and can be channeled to the body areas that need it the most, on demand."

-- Nancy Zi

RICHES LIE WITHIN YOU

Wealth without enjoyment is little consolation.
Your real riches in life are riches of the head and heart.
Satisfaction comes when you appreciate what you have.

While success is getting what you want,
true happiness is wanting what you get.

It's not how much you have,
but how much you enjoy that truly matters.
Riches lie within you,
not in your material possessions.

Make this an extraordinary day!

Greetings on the 17th day of October with the theme of

High intention operates in the midst of freedom. Freedom

The Divine Romance

Every night when you sit to meditate, pray to God unceasingly.

Tear the silence with your longing.

Cry to God as you would cry to your mother or to your father:

"Where are You?

You made me;

You gave me intelligence to seek You.

You are in the flowers, in the moon, and in the stars;

must You remain hidden?

Come to me.

You must!

You must!"

With all the concentration of your mind, with all the love of your heart, tear at the veils of silence again and again.

As constant churning brings butter out of milk, churn the ether with the ladle of your devotion and it shall produce God.

~ Paramahansa Yogananda, from his book, The Divine Romance

Compassion

CODE OF COMPASSION

Be kind to yourself and others.
Come from love every moment you have.
Speak of love with others.
Remind each other of your spiritual purpose.
Never give up hope.
Know that you are loved.

It still amazes me how often spirit sends us clues about the real nature of life. This I took to be a clue about compassion, the closest value to love itself. To be compassionate is not to take pity; it is to extend care to others simply because you see their need. Most of us give because doing so increases our self-image or because we expect something in return, although it's difficult to be entirely honest about that. Give because you have to—this is love in action, having no doubt about itself. There is no question of anyone else having to deserve your compassion. If you have it to give, you will give it where it is needed.

I don't think compassion is very well understood. In the West we have been misled by the word itself—the Latin roots of compassion mean "to suffer with." Yet compassion does not have to entail suffering alongside someone else. To be in touch with God's love is the root of compassion. Trying to exercise compassion without this connection will only lead to failure. If I see you in extreme distress, putting my attention on your suffering is the same as participating in it, and the amount of love I can actually direct to you will therefore be diminished.

Compassion, to be full, has to be founded on unconditional love, which is not attached to suffering of any kind. Compassion, besides being connected to God's love, sees everyone as connected to it in the same way. Even if you are presently in pain, you are not without love. Since God is compassionate, no one's experience of pain is a punishment. There is love somewhere inside. Suffering is hard to perceive as love when it is occurring, and many times it isn't perceived as a lesson for growth either.

This is where compassion has most value; it allows me to step in and remind you that you are loved, not in theory but in the flesh. All of us feel our pain keenly while the pain is present; there is little room for reflection on the spiritual value, if any, of what we are going through. But the fact that the mind is dominated by pain doesn't negate love's purpose. A time will come, a state of awareness will grow, that transcends the suffering. Spirit will dominate the mind instead. By bringing compassion to you, I can reassure you that you are not abandoned; you are just at a difficult crossroads on the journey of love.

By practicing the Code of Compassion, you will be open to receive every lesson on the path in the spirit in which it is given—as an expression of divine love. The horrors of the world are undeniable, and few people even dream that they will go away. But they will, because love is the supreme reality, compared to which all else is temporary, fleeting, and unreal.

Love,
Deepak

Make this a profound week!

Greetings on the 3rd week of October with the theme of
Freedom. During this third week we focus on Being/Intending
Affirmations.
Remind yourself of your over-arching intention for freedom.

ABOUT BEING/INTENDING AFFIRMATIONS and FREEDOM
This week's affirmations help you to understand youself and
freedom more deeply. To remember who you truly are is a
profoundly powerful experience. As a spiritual being, you
are free beyond what your ordinary human understanding can
comprehend. You can explore spiritual freedom through any
and all aspects of your life -- where you feel free or
enslaved, confused or uplifted, resistant or ready,
empowered or depressed. Every situation is an opportunity
to know freedom.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Do you believe that you are free? How are you free?
Identify a specific area in your life where you experience
freedom. Take five minutes or so to write about that
freedom: what freedom itself feels like, how you feel, what
you notice. Perhaps you feel all glowy or giddy, perhaps
you feel strong or powerful. Notice and describe the
sensations as precisely as you can. Involve as many senses
and thoughts and feelings as possible in your description.
Then reduce your description to a few words that represent
this whole picture. Perhaps you call this your "Freedom
Place" or "Both feet on the ground" or "In the eye of the
storm." Post these words on your computer or a mirror or
your desk drawer. Then, any time that you feel burdened,
restricted, limited, oppressed, depressed, or otherwise not
free, remind yourself of your "Freedom Place."

ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
If I were to select the definitive affirmation for this week
to represent being and intending for Freedom it would be the
affirmation for October 19: "I remember freedom. I remember
who I Am. I am free." Each sentence has a slightly
different rhythm; the sentences together help you to deepen
your relationship to freedom.

Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus
on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or
some combination. You will receive each of these
affirmations on the appropriate days with additional
information and suggestions. Make your process work for
you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Be like a Flower
"Be like a flower. A flower does not try to be beautiful, it's True
Nature is Beauty. It exudes fragrance, beauty, perfection just by its
very Being. In the same way, when you awaken to your True Nature you
will naturally exude Love, Compassion and Beauty. It is all you! It
is your True Self."
WHERE'S THE MONEY?
"People say you should let your money work for you. I prefer to
do the work and let my money relax."
-Jerry Seinfeld
We've all heard the saying 'Do what you love and the money will follow'. But what do you do if it doesn't?
I once went on a seminar for budding film makers where the overwhelming mood was one of pessimism, helplessness and even despair at the difficulty in getting funding for producing and distributing independent movies.
After a particularly inspirational talk by one independent film producer about her idea for an upcoming project, someone stood up and in a voice dripping with cynicism said 'Sounds great - but where's the money going to come from?'
Without missing a beat, the producer said "From wherever it is now."
In this past week, a client of mine sent me an e-mail about an artist friend raising a similar question:
"She has done all this work, both inner and outer, and is now at a point where her savings are running out. It looks like she will have to take a job to support herself. She feels quite sad about this, and thinks that working at something she doesn't want to do will take a lot of time and energy away from continuing to work on what she really wants to do."
This is actually a remarkably common dilemma - wanting to be paid for doing what you love but needing the money to live your  life in the meantime.
Here is an excerpt from my reply:
"It's very difficult to have a successful business when your life sucks. Not impossible, just difficult. If you're spending all your time and energy worrying about money, it's going to affect every aspect of your business, encouraging you to make poor business decisions (because you 'need' the money), negotiate poor business deals (because you 'need' the money), and basically be led around by the nose by fear and greed (because you 'need' the money).
In that sense, we can make a fairly universal business guideline which says:
*Don't 'need' the money!*
How do we actually do that?
Two main ways:
1. Recognize that your well-being is not dependent
on your bank balance
2. Have more money
Two ways to have more money:
1. Make more of it
2. Keep more of it
There is a big difference between taking a job because you've been defeated by the money monster in the Valley of the Giants and taking a job as part of your financial freedom/'Wow!' goal project.
If you recognize that you need $3000 a month to live comfortably, one of the best goals you can set yourself is to have $18,000 in a reservoir savings account before you go full time with your 'heart' business. Along the way, you can continue to be building and working that business while you earn your keep through other sources.
Nearly everyone I know who's broken through financially to doing what they love as a successful business (myself included) had to at some point stop trying to control where the money came from and open up to it coming from wherever it wants to come from. It's like the old joke about God and the true believer who died in the flood - 'I sent you a car, a boat, and a helicopter - all you had to do was climb on board!'"
While that may sound 'too easy' for those of you going through money worries of your own, here's what happened with my client's friend:
She made a list of all the things she loved to do (even those that weren't to do directly with her art) and all the things she didn't like about the prospect of full-time employment. Within hours, she was inspired to post an e-mail to a nanny website and a few hours later she received a reply from a wealthy family in her neighborhood.
Less than 72 hours after letting go of trying to control where the money came from, she had agreed to a well-paid position cooking and looking after a young child (two things she loved doing) which gave her the time and money to do her art with ease and freedom.
And as for my client?
She wrote me that within 72 hours of letting go of trying to 'make' money come exclusively from her spiritual teaching, she has allowed herself to be hired to coach singing (something she loves doing) by someone who attended one of her yoga classes!
--------------------
Today's Experiment:
--------------------
1. What is your life's work? That is, if you could be paid to do what you love, what would you choose to be paid to do?
2. Figure out how much money you want to have each month while you are working towards doing what you love as a 'full-time job'.
3. Create a ritual for yourself where you let go of trying to tell God, life or the universe where the money has to come from. Imagine yourself opening up to the money coming in 'from wherever it is now'.
4. Follow up with any inspired actions that occur to you over the next 72 hours!
Have fun, learn heaps and please share your experiences of working with today's tip on the Genius Catalyst forums: http://geniuscatalyst.com/newforums/index.php
With love,
michael
Sonnet # XC.
Then hate me when thou wilt; if ever, now;
Now, while the world is bent my deeds to cross,
Join with the spite of fortune, make me bow,
And do not drop in for an after-loss:
Ah, do not, when my heart hath 'scoped this sorrow,
Come in the rearward of a conquer'd woe;
Give not a windy night a rainy morrow,
To linger out a purposed overthrow.
If thou wilt leave me, do not leave me last,
When other petty griefs have done their spite
But in the onset come; so shall I taste
At first the very worst of fortune's might,
And other strains of woe, which now seem woe,
Compared with loss of thee will not seem so.
YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES
Your destiny isn't a matter of chance,
it's a matter of the choices you make.
Success isn't something you wait for,
it's something you must pursue.
Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities to be successful.
Seize common occasions and turn them into great ones.
Opportunities sometimes come disguised in the form of misfortune,
or temporary defeat.
Start where you are.
You are, at this moment,
standing right in the middle of opportunity.
If you act on your dreams you can live them.
Make this an empowering day!
Greetings on the 16th day of October with the theme of
YOU CAN'T SUCCEED WITHOUT A GOAL
The indispensable first step
to getting the things you want out of life is this:
decide what you want.
You must first establish your objectives
if you're to accomplish anything in a big way.
Goals give you a starting place and a destination.
People with goals succeed because they know where they're going.
Determine what you want.
Decide on your major objectives,
targets, aims, and destination.
If you don't know where you're going,
how can you expect to get there?
Plant your dreams, nourish and begin to live them.
The most important thing about a goal is having one.
WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET
The realities of life result from many outside factors,
none of which you can control.
Your attitude, however, reflects the way
in which you evaluate what's happening to you.
It is not your situation,
it's your reaction to the situation that's important.
Things always seem to turn out best for those people
who can make the best out of the way things turn out.
Life at any time can become difficult.
Life at any time can become easy.
It all depends upon how you adjust yourself to life.
You cannot always control your circumstances.
But you can always think positive thoughts.
There is nothing either good or bad,
only your thinking makes it so.
Mirror
"The world is your mirror and your mind is a magnet. What you perceive
in this world is largely a reflection of your own attitudes and
beliefs. Life will give you what you attract with your thoughts
think, act and talk negatively and your world will be negative. Think
and act and talk with enthusiasm and you will attract positive
results." ~ Michael LeBeuf
Embrace the positive and negative
"Only when we can love hell will we find heaven."
-- Unknown source
People often view the spiritual path as a search for the light. In truth, spirituality asks us to bring light and darkness together in wholeness. And in fact, this is the only possible solution. In our world of duality, any effort to focus all attention on the light only serves to increase the power of the darkness. Our aim is not to deny or reject anything but to embrace it all.
"When you are able to contain both the light and dark together, that is a very enlightening state. It means that you no longer have to choose one experience over another. You do not have to choose love OR hate, blame OR forgiveness, sadness OR joy, anger OR openheartedness. You are no longer polarized; no particular feeling boxes you in and keeps you from the light of true self. You then have access to the full range of human experiences you came into this life to embrace."
-- Martia Nelson
What life is and is not about.
Life isn't about keeping score. It's not about how many friends you have.
Or how accepted you are. Not about if you have plans this weekend or if
you're alone.
It isn't about who you're dating, who you used to date, how many people
you've dated, or if you haven't been with anyone at all. It isn't about
who you have kissed, it's not about sex.
It isn't about who your family is or how much money they have. Or what
kind of car you drive. Or where you are sent to school. It's not about
how beautiful or ugly you are. Or what clothes you wear, what shoes you
have on, Or what kind of music you listen to.
It's not about if your hair is blonde, red, black, or brown. Or if your
skin is too light or too dark. Not about what grades you get, how smart
you are, how smart everybody else thinks you are, or how smart
standardized tests say you are. It's not about what clubs you're in or
how good you are at "your" sport. It's not about repres enting your whole
being on a piece of paper and seeing who will "accept the written you."
LIFE JUST ISN'T.
But, life is about whom you love and whom you hurt.
It's about whom you make happy or unhappy purposefully. It's about
keeping or betraying trust.
It's about friendship, used as a sanctity or a weapon. It's about what
you say and mean, maybe hurtful, maybe heartening. About starting rumors
and contributing to petty gossip.
It's about what judgments you pass and why. And who your judgments are
spread to. It's about whom you've ignored with full control and
intention. It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge. It's about
carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow, and spreading it.
But most of all, it's about using your life to touch or poison other
people's hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone.
Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choice s are
what life's all about.
Keys To Living With Greater Awareness
Develop a habit, in response to every challenge, of saying, “I can!” “I can!” is the yes-saying principle in action. Unwillingness must be nipped in the bud. Let your first instinct be, rather, to affirm your openness to new possibilities. Habitual skepticism kills opportunity. The time exists, indeed, for reasoned consideration, but this time comes after one has affirmed his willingness to approach a new idea constructively.
Love
Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them.
And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
Khalil Gibran, The Prophet
Make this a friendly day!
Greetings on the 12th day of October with the theme of
second week of the month.
Freedom, you are my friend. I receive this friendship with
love and compassion.
Forgive the hurts
"Forgiveness will never fail to free you."
-- Jerrold Mundis
How do we forgive when we’re angry and hurt?
As a first step, we can be willing to truly feel our anger and hurt. Honouring our feelings by being fully present with them helps to release the feelings themselves.
And it helps to remember that people only hurt others when they themselves are in pain. When we can recognize the other person’s suffering, our heart can open in compassion. We can also remember that at some time or another, we too have hurt someone through our own unskilful action.
Only love can heal the rifts caused by a hurtful deed. Forgiveness holds immense power because it mends separation. It moves us towards the unity and love that lie at the core of our being. It is a fundamental part of the healing process.
"Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future."
-- Paul Boese
"God has a big eraser."
-- Billy Zeoli
Sonnet LXXXVIII.
When thou shalt be disposed to set me light,
And place my merit in the eye of scorn,
Upon thy side against myself I'll fight,
And prove thee virtuous, though thou art forsworn.
With mine own weakness being best acquainted,
Upon thy part I can set down a story
Of faults conceal'd, wherein I am attainted,
That thou in losing me shalt win much glory:
And I by this will be a gainer too;
For bending all my loving thoughts on thee,
The injuries that to myself I do,
Doing thee vantage, double-vantage me.
Such is my love, to thee I so belong,
SERVICE IS THE ESSENCE OF SUCCESS
All successful people became successful
because they gave some talent or ability in the service of others.
You can contribute in some way to others
no matter how small your talent.
You too, can become successful.
No one achieves success without being of service.
Leadership is action, not position.
The successful don't use others, other people use the successful,
for above all success is of service.
Everyone has to be someone to someone to be anyone.
Help Yourself
A traveling preacher finds himself in a tremendous rainstorm.
Within a few hours the hotel he is staying in becomes flooded. As the
water rises, the preacher climbs to the roof and starts praying.
"Lord, save me so I can continue on my mission of preaching your gospel."
Just then, a coast guard rescue party floats by in a rowboat. "Let's go
mister. Into the boat."
"I'll stay here," says the preacher, "The Lord will save me."
An hour later a second boat reaches the scene and the water is close to
the roof of the hotel. "Sir, you better get in. the water is still
rising."
"No thanks. The Lord will be my salvation."
Toward evening, the hotel is almost completely under water and the
preacher is clinging to the satellite dish on the roof. A helicopter is
spotted and on a loudspeaker is heard "HSir, grab on to the line and we
will pull y ou up. This is your last chance.
"I'm all right," says the preacher, as he looks heavenward. "I know the
Lord will provide sanctuary."
As the boat departs, the satellite dish is hit by lightning and the
preacher is killed. When he arrived at the Pearly Gates he was furious.
"What happened, " he shouts. "I thought the Lord would provide!"
Moments later a thunderous voice is heard. "Gimmie a break pal. I sent
you 2 boats and a chopper"
FIND THE GOOD SIDE TO EVERY SITUATION
You cannot have the success you seek without some failures too.
Any experience can be transformed into something of value.
Everything depends on the way you look at things.
What appear to be stumbling blocks and defeat before you
can be stepping stones to victory if you remain determined.
In all of your adversities lies the seeds of equivalent advantages.
In every defeat there is a lesson showing you how to win the next time.
View your problems as opportunities.
Symptoms of Inner Peace
Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner peace.
The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to inner peace and
it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic
proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now,
been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.
Some signs to look for:
A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on
past experiences.
An unmistakeable ability to enjoy each moment.
A loss of interest in judging other people.
A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
A loss of interest in conflict.
A loss of the ability to worry. (This is a very serious symptom.)
Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
Frequent attacks of smiling.
An increasing tendency to let things hap pen rather than make them
happen.
An increased susceptibility to the love offered by others as well as the
uncontrollable urge to extend it.
Be Forewarned!!! If you have all or even most of the above symptoms,
please be advised that your condition may be too far advanced to turn
back. If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting several of these symptoms,
remain exposed at your own risk. This condition of inner peace is likely
well into its infectious stage.
Sonnet # LXXXVII.
Farewell! thou art too dear for my possessing,
And like enough thou know'st thy estimate:
The charter of thy worth gives thee releasing;
My bonds in thee are all determinate.
For how do I hold thee but by thy granting?
And for that riches where is my deserving?
The cause of this fair gift in me is wanting,
And so my patent back again is swerving.
Thyself thou gavest, thy own worth then not knowing,
Or me, to whom thou gavest it, else mistaking;
So thy great gift, upon misprision growing,
Comes home again, on better judgment making.
Thus have I had thee, as a dream doth flatter,
In sleep a king, but waking no such matter.
Make this a powerful day!
Temporary Peace
solnedgang
Deep inside the silence
Staring out upon the sea
The waves washing over
Half forgotten memories
Deep within the moment
Laughter floats upon the breeze
Rising and falling dying down within me
And I swear I never knew how it could be
And all this time all I had inside was what I couldn't see
I swear I never knew how it could be
All the waves washing over all that hurts inside of me
Beyond this beautiful horizon
Lies a dream for you and I
This tranquil scene is still unbroken by the rumors in the sky
But there's a storm closing in
Voices crying on the wind
This serenade is growing colder breaks my soul that tries to sing
And there's so many, many thoughts
When I try to go to sleep
But with you I start to feel a sort of temporary peace
There's a drift in and out
The Gift of Total Responsibility
heart in the sand
Two years ago, I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients--without ever seeing any of them. The psychologist would study an inmate's chart and then look within himself to see how he created that person's illness. As he improved himself, the patient improved.
When I first heard this story, I thought it was an urban legend. How could anyone heal anyone else by healing himself? How could even the best self-improvement master cure the criminally insane? It didn't make any sense. It wasn't logical, so I dismissed the story.
However, I heard it again a year later. I heard that the therapist had used a Hawaiian healing process called Ho'oponopono. I had never heard of it, yet I couldn't let it leave my mind. If the story was at all true, I had to know more. I had always understood "total responsibility" to mean that I am responsible for what I think and do. Beyond that, it's out of my hands. I think that most people think of total responsibility that way. We're responsible for what we do, not what anyone else does--but that may be wrong.
The Hawaiian therapist who healed those mentally ill people would teach me an advanced new perspective about total responsibility. His name is Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. We probably spent an hour talking on our first phone call. I asked him to tell me the complete story of his work as a therapist.
He explained that he worked at Hawaii State Hospital for four years.That ward where they kept the criminally insane was dangerous. Psychologists quit on a monthly basis. The staff called in sick a lot or simply quit. People would walk through that ward with their backs against the wall, afraid of being attacked by patients. It was not a pleasant place to live, work, or visit.
Dr. Len told me that he never saw patients. He agreed to have an office and to review their files. While he looked at those files, he would work on himself. As he worked on himself, patients began to heal.
After a few months, patients that had to be shackled were being allowed to walk freely,' he told me. 'Others who had to be heavily medicated were getting off their medications. And those who had no chance of ever being released were being freed.' I was in awe.' Not only that,' he went on, 'but the staff began to enjoy coming to work.
Absenteeism and turnover disappeared. We ended up with more staff than we needed because patients were being released, and all the staff was showing up to work. Today, that ward is closed.
This is where I had to ask the million dollar question: What were you doing within yourself that caused those people to change?
'I was simply healing the part of me that created them,' he said. I didn't understand. Dr. Len explained that total responsibility for your life means that everything in your life - simply because it is in your life - is your responsibility. In a literal sense the entire world is your creation.
If you take complete responsibility for your life, then everything you see, hear, taste, touch, or in any way experience is your responsibility because it is in your life. This means that terrorist activity, the president, the economy or anything you experience and don't like--is up for you to heal. They don't exist, in a manner of speaking, except as projections from inside you. The problem isn't with them, it's with you, and to change them, you have to change you.
I know this is tough to grasp, let alone accept or actually live. Blame is far easier than total responsibility, but as I spoke with Dr. Len, I began to realize that healing for him and in h'oponopono means loving yourself.
If you want to improve your life, you have to heal your life. If you want to cure anyone, even a mentally ill criminal you do it by healing you.
I asked Dr. Len how he went about healing himself. What was he doing, exactly, when he looked at those patients' files?
I just kept saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again, he explained.
That's it? 'That's it.'
Turns out that loving yourself is the greatest way to improve yourself, and as you improve yourself, you improve your world.
Let me give you a quick example of how this works: one day, someone sent me an email that upset me. In the past I would have handled it by working on my emotional hot buttons or by trying to reason with the person who sent the nasty message.
This time, I decided to try Dr. Len's method. I kept silently saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you,' I didn't say it to anyone in particular. I was simply evoking the spirit of love to heal within me what was creating the outer circumstance.
Within an hour I got an e-mail from the same person. He apologized for his previous message. Keep in mind that I didn't take any outward action to get that apology. I didn't even write him back. Yet, by saying 'I love you,' I somehow healed within me what was creating him.
I later attended a Ho'oponopono workshop run by Dr. Len. He's now 70 years old, considered a grandfatherly shaman, and is somewhat reclusive.
He praised my book, and told me that as I improve myself, my book's vibration will raise, and everyone will feel it when they read it. In short, as I improve, my readers will improve.
'What about the books that are already sold and out there?' I asked.
'They aren't out there,' he explained, once again blowing my mind with his mystic wisdom. 'They are still in you.' In short, there is no out there. It would take a whole book to explain this advanced technique with the depth it deserves.
Suffice It to say that whenever you want to improve anything in your life, there's only one place to look: inside you. When you look, do it with love.
Make this an open day!
Greetings on the 8th day of October with the theme of Freedom. This is a Receiving/Accepting Affirmation in the second week of the month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I open to allow freedom to operate in my life. I shift my
attention from "freedom from" to "freedom to."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Make this a quality week!
Greetings on the 2nd week of October with the theme of
Freedom. During this second week we focus on Receiving/
Accepting Affirmations.
Remind yourself of your over-arching intention for freedom.
ABOUT RECEIVING/ACCEPTING AFFIRMATIONS and FREEDOM
The purpose of Receiving/Accepting Affirmations is to open yourself for something to be or to happen. They allow you to experience freedom, perhaps in a way you have not done so before. They can also neutralize the misqualification of energy; that is, they can eliminate the bondage of illness, erase the restrictions of limited thinking, and reverse other misuse of energy. In addition, this week's affirmations help shift the attention from disempowering actions such as "getting" or "taking" to more freeing actions such as, "receiving" and "allowing" and "being" and "accepting." Relax into the power of acceptance.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
If you have felt unfree in a particular way or in a particular area of your life, you may find that you want to put your attention initially this week on an area in which you already feel free. Or perhaps focus on a specific event in which you felt free. This opens you to appreciate the feeling or essence of freedom -- imagine the feeling, remember this, feel this, see this, etc. Notice the dynamics of freedom. Touch and appreciate freedom.
Then...... acknowledge that you have created this experience.
Then..... shift your attention to an area in which you wish
to experience similar feelings of freedom. Carefully bring in all the dynamics you remember from the other experience. Oops, don't drop the feelings by letting your head tell you these are two different situations. Stay with the feelings you have created that tell you that you are/were free. Repeat this exercise until you can more easily accept the feelings of freedom regardless of the situation.
ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week to represent receiving and accepting for Freedom it would be the affirmation for the first day (October 8): "I open to allow freedom to operate in my life. I shift my attention from 'freedom from' to 'freedom to.'" I love this affirmation because I have found repeatedly that many persons feel that they are locked into something or someone, or restricted from doing something. People often want to get "free from" something. This, indeed, may be a worthy goal. However, once "freed from" something or someone you usually re-create a similar bondage with another person or thing. On the other hand, "freedom to" opens a wider scope of possibilities in which to experience freedom.
Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or some combination. You will receive each of these affirmations on the appropriate days with additional information and suggestions. Make your process work for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

October 8:
I open to allow freedom to operate in my life. I shift my attention from "freedom from" to "freedom to."

October 9:
I receive goodness and freedom from the Universe. I let the truth shine through appearances.

October 10:
I allow freedom to open a pathway and to flow through me.

October 11:
Dear God, allow me to see freedom in a way that I can understand.

October 12:
Freedom, you are my friend. I receive this friendship with love and compassion.

October 13:
I accept freedom in all aspects of my life. I accept freedom in all aspects of your life. We are all free.

October 14:
I am ready right now to live in freedom and gratitude.

Needs and Wants

“It is important to differentiate between
your needs and your wants. Your needs are few, while your wants can be
limitless. In order to find freedom and bliss, minister only to your needs.
Stop creating limitless wants and pursuing the will-o’-the-wisp of false
happiness. The more you depend upon conditions outside yourself for
happiness, the less happiness you will experience.”

Look at what’s really important to you – things like peace of mind,
tranquility, and the ability to help others – and restructure your life so
that these are your top priorities.

“People will have half as much as they have now, but they will be
twice as spiritual.”

I've learned

be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.

The 4 D's of spiritual growth

"Strive to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To be too wise for worry, too tolerant for hate, and too courageous to be fearful. In short, to be happy."

-- Unknown Source

Reflect on this pathway for meaningful growth:

DISCIPLINE - To create change in our lives, we need to consistently focus on what we want.

DETACHMENT - Practice the art of detached observation. Let go of automatic defenses and patterns.

DISCERNMENT - Seek to discern the lower from the higher. What is self-serving and what is soul-inspired? Discernment carries no judgment. There are no goods and bads. Remain as a detached witness.

DHARMA - This is an East Indian word meaning "living your unique purpose." How do you find meaning and fulfillment in ways that are natural to you? How do you best serve and contribute to the world?

"If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears."

VISION IS THE ART OF SEEING INVISIBLE THINGS

You don't need an explanation for everything.
Recognize that there are such things as miracles,
events for which there are no explanations.
Later, knowledge may explain those events quite easily.

The fact that you can plant a seed and it becomes a flower,
share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's,
smile at someone and receive a smile in return are common miracles.

Your duty to yourself is to believe
that for which you have sufficient evidence,
and to suspend your judgment when you have not.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Some things have to be believed to be seen.
Don't believe in miracles, depend on them.

Sonnet # LXXXVI.

Was it the proud full sail of his great verse,
Bound for the prize of all too precious you,
That did my ripe thoughts in my brain inhearse,
Making their tomb the womb wherein they grew?
Was it his spirit, by spirits taught to write
Above a mortal pitch, that struck me dead?
No, neither he, nor his compeers by night
Giving him aid, my verse astonished.
He, nor that affable familiar ghost
Which nightly gulls him with intelligence
As victors of my silence cannot boast;
I was not sick of any fear from thence:
But when your countenance fill'd up his line,
Then lack'd I matter; that enfeebled mine.

YOU CANNOT WIN THE RACE UNLESS YOU RUN

You must take the first step to win any race.
The first step will take some effort and maybe some pain.
But after that, everything you have to do is real - life movement.
Once you're moving you must keep moving.

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desires
and begin at once, whether you're ready or not,
to put your plan into action.

If you can get up the courage to begin,
you have the courage to succeed.
You can only fail if you fail to start.

Winning starts with beginning.

Laws - From the 'Prophet'

"You delight in laying down laws, Yet you delight more in breaking them.

Like children playing by the ocean who build sand-towers with constancy
and then destroy them with laughter. But while you build your sand-towers
the ocean brings more sand to the shore, And when you destroy them, the
ocean laughs with you. Verily the ocean laughs always with the innocent.

But what of those to whom life is not an ocean, and man-made laws are not
sand-towers, But to whom life is a rock, and the law a chisel with which
they would carve it in their own likeness?

What of the cripple who hates dancers?

What of the ox who loves his yoke and deems the elk and deer of the
forest stray and vagrant things?

What of the old serpent who cannot shed his skin, and calls all others
naked and shameless?

And of him who comes early to the wedding-feast, and when over-fed and
tired goes his way saying that all feasts are violation and all feasters
law-breakers?

What shall I say of these save that they too stand in the sunlight, but
with their backs to the sun? They see only their shadows, and their
shadows are their laws. And what is the sun to them but a caster of
shadows? And what is it to acknowledge the laws but to stoop down and
trace their shadows upon the earth?

But you who walk facing the sun, what images drawn on the earth can hold
you? You who travel with the wind, what weathervane shall direct your
course? What man's law shall bind you if you break your yoke but upon no
man's prison door?

What laws shall you fear if you dance but stumble against no man's iron
chains? And who is he that shall bring you to judgment if you tear off
your garment yet leave it in no man's path?

People of Orphalese, you can muffle the drum, and you can loosen the
strings of the lyre, but who shall command the skylark not to sing?"

Storm....

"Find the center of the cyclone of life and you'll discover deep
profound peace." ~Unknown

The mind often acts like a storm of energy and information spewing
out all sorts of thoughts and ideas about what its world should look
or feel like. It can make the world around you seem chaotic,
overwhelming, and almost too much to handle. Your mind may be very
busy all day long, spinning around, chattering 1000 miles an hour
about this and that. It's as if your mind is caught in its own
windstorm that it has created. Spinning around in thoughts can make
your life appear as if it is off course. It can feel like you are
being tossed in many different directions as your mind throws out
random thoughts at you like: "Hurry up! Why did you say that? Do you
have time for this? This is so interesting. You got to get to work.
What am I having for dinner?"

Living in the mind can be completely exhausting. It's a good thing
that there are many ways to turn off the spin cycle. With each of
these thoughts slamming into you, you may notice that you have the
choice to react to them or just watch them sail by. By reacting to
all of the crazy mind chatter, you will be thrown back into the
tornado of life. Yet, by "sitting back" from your mind and becoming
the observer, you will discover that you can create a comfortable
distance from every thought that passes by. Finding this observer in
you is where you become the master of the winds of your psyche.

Often we become sooooo fixated on our thoughts that we cannot find
our inner observer. If this seems to be the case for you, then it's
time to use stronger disciplinary measures. Several times randomly
throughout your day try this experiment. Right now, take a deep
breath into your body. That's right, take this deep breath in now,
and notice how it feels to breathe. Now after you exhale, in your
inner world, shout the message "STOP" to your mind, and then let your
body become solid and completely still like a stone statue. Even stop
breathing for as long as you can, and explore this stillness. Show
the mind that you are the boss here and let the frozen-like energy
cease all activity inside. Let everything come to a complete halt and
focus your attention inside on WHO or WHAT is looking. While it may
take 30 seconds or more to find the calm present eternal observer,
you will soon be free and at peace in the center of your cyclone.

Set the intention right now to make time every day to recognize the
illusionary nature of this storm. All of your concerns,
responsibilities, and fears are created by the mind, and are truly an
illusion. In this present moment, there is really nothing that has to
be done. You are connected with Existence and that is enough. You
don't have to do anything or be someone special to continue to exist.
Your mind may believe that something important needs to get done, or
else you will die. Yet, this is the type of fear-based thinking that
creates those 300 hundred mile hour winds and a hurricane lifestyle.
The truth is that you are complete, whole and truly perfect exactly
as you are NOW in this very moment. You don't have to do a thing to
be "perfect". You were born Divine. No matter what happens in the
chaotic outer world, your divine inner nature will always remain
untouched, undamaged, and complete. Believe this for 24 hours and see
what happens.

Yes, you no longer have to suffer in this storm. You can find the
oasis of calm that lies at the middle of each moment. The secret is
to learn how to quiet the mind and reconnect with your Divine Nature.
The easiest way to do this is to remain in a state of being present
to what is. This can be done through meditation. The more you
meditate, the more you realize that you are not your mind, and that
you are infinite and untouched by any winds blowing around you.
Meditation is just sitting in silence and watching the crazy mind
chatter as it comes and goes. It is like sitting and watching the
distant clouds move across a peaceful blue sky background. Your true
eternal essence is the blue sky and your thoughts are the clouds. The
more you observe these thoughts without buying into them or getting
caught up in them, the more you detach and find this vast infinite
stillness inside of you. Over time, you will be able to recognize the
silliness of getting caught in the mind and become truly freed from
it's grasp. It will be a glorious day when you remain centered no
matter what crazy storm is brewing around you.

May you enjoy new levels of inner peace,

YOU CAN OPEN ANY DOOR WITH CONCENTRATION

The first law of success is concentration.
Bend all of your energies to one point,
and go directly to that point,
looking neither to the right nor the left.
Concentration is the magic key
that opens the door to accomplishment.

In time, you can become what you earnestly desire to be,
if you set your face in the direction of the things you want
and bring all your powers to bear towards its attainment.

When your physical and mental resources are focused,
your power to solve problems multiplies tremendously.
To do two things at once is to do neither.
Success is the result of well directed energy.

Nothing can add more power to your life
as much as concentrating all your energies
on a limited set of targets.

The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus.

All is mind

"I want to know the thoughts of God; the rest are details."

-- Albert Einstein

Everything -- absolutely everything -- that happens in our lives has a spiritual cause. Events on all other levels -- mental, emotional and physical -- are only effects.

When we are struggling with any challenge, whether it be ill health, a lack of money, a lost job, relationships, an accident, whatever -- we need to look for the spiritual learning. We can ask ourselves, "What quality does my soul want me to live more fully?"

"If you start to think the problem is ‘out there,’ stop yourself. That thought is the problem."

-- Stephen Covey

Just Be...

Be strong enough to face the world each day.

Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything.

Be generous to those who need your help.

Be frugal with what you need yourself.

Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything.

Be foolish enough to believe in miracles.

Be willing to share your joys.

Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.

Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty.

Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.

Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.

Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not stumble.

Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.

Be loving to those who love you.

Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.

Above all, be you rself!

Make this a powerful day!

Greetings on the 5th day of October with the theme of
Freedom. This is a Releasing/Cleansing Affirmation in the
first week of the month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I cut negative bonds of attachment to powerlessness and
slavery. I also cut away the belief that I can get my power
back by controlling others.
Time to blossom
"The voice of our original self is often muffled, overwhelmed, even strangled, by the voices of other people’s expectations."
-- Julie Cameron
Many of us unconsciously believe that we’re unworthy or defective. We adopted this belief very early in our lives when the people we looked up to disapproved of our demands, wishes and behaviours. We concluded that we had to learn to be good.
Unfortunately, ‘being good’ usually meant giving up our own differences or uniqueness. We learned that we might get the love we wanted if we acted and felt like others wanted us to.
If we seek true joy and connection with life, we now need to remove these artificial masks and express our deep authentic nature.
"For all those years you’ve protected the seed. It’s time to become the beautiful flower."
-- Stephen C. Paul
Sonnet LXXXV.
My tongue-tied Muse in manners holds her still,
While comments of your praise, richly compiled,
Reserve their character with golden quill
And precious phrase by all the Muses filed.
I think good thoughts whilst other write good words,
And like unletter'd clerk still cry 'Amen'
To every hymn that able spirit affords
In polish'd form of well-refined pen.
Hearing you praised, I say ''Tis so, 'tis true,'
And to the most of praise add something more;
But that is in my thought, whose love to you,
Though words come hindmost, holds his rank before.
Then others for the breath of words respect,
Me for my dumb thoughts, speaking in effect.
SELECT YOUR ENVIRONMENT WITH CARE
Your own positive energy will compel things
to turn out the way you desire
when you're surrounded by positive people.
Your environment is your mental feeding ground
from which the food that goes into your mind is extracted.
Choose your environment with care, one that is positive,
one that lifts you up and gives you wings to soar.
Create favorable conditions through your association with others.
Avoid people who belittle your ambition.
Small people always do that,
but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
We shape our buildings, thereafter they shape us.
It's your friends that make your world.
Entertaining Angels
It was fifty years ago, on a hot summer day, in the deep south. We lived
on a dirt road, on a sand lot. We were, what was known as "dirt poor". I
had been playing outside all morning in the sand.
Suddenly, I heard a sharp clanking sound behind me and looking over my
shoulder, my eyes were drawn to a strange sight! Across the dirt road
were two rows of men, dressed in black and white, striped, baggy
uniforms. Their faces were covered with dust and sweat. They looked so
weary, and they were chained together with huge, black, iron chains.
Hanging from the end of each chained row was a big, black, iron ball.
They were, as polite people said in those days, a "Chain Gang," guarded
by two, heavily armed, white guards. I stared at the prisoners as they
settled uncomfortably down in the dirt, under the shade of some straggly
trees. One of the guards walked towards me. Nodding as he passed, he went
up to our front door and knocked. My mother appeared at the door, and I
heard the guard ask if he could have permission to get water from the
pump, in the backyard, so that "his men" could "have a drink". My mother
agreed, but I saw a look of concern on her face, as she called me inside.
I stared through the window as each prisoner was unchained from the line,
to hobble over to the pump and drink his fill from a small tin cup, while
a guard watched vigilantly. It wasn't long before they were all chained
back up again, with prisoners and guards retreating into the shade, away
from an unrelenting sun. I heard my mother call me into the kitchen, and
I entered, to see her bustling around with tins of tuna fish, mayonnaise,
our last loaf of bread, and two, big, pitchers of lemonade. In what
seemed "a blink of an eye", she had made a tray of sandwiches using all
the tuna we were to have had for that night's supper.
My mother was smiling as she handed me one of the pi tchers of lemonade,
cautioning me to carry it "carefully" and to "not spill a drop." Then,
lifting the tray in one hand and holding a pitcher in her other hand, she
marched me to the door, deftly opening it with her foot, and trotted me
across the street. She approached the guards, flashing them with a
brilliant smile. "We had some leftovers from lunch," she said, "and I was
wondering if we could share with you and your men." She smiled at each of
the men, searching their dark eyes with her own eyes of "robin's egg
blue." Everyone started to their feet. "Oh no!" she said. "Stay where you
are! I'll just serve you!" Calling me to her side, she went from guard to
guard, then from prisoner to prisoner, filling each tin cup with
lemonade, and giving each man a sandwich.
It was very quiet, except for a "thank you, ma'am," and the clanking of
the chains. Very soon we were at the end of the lin e, my mother's eyes
softly scanning each face. The last prisoner was a big man, his dark skin
pouring with sweat, and streaked with dust. Suddenly, his face broke into
a wonderful smile, as he looked up into my mother's eyes, and he said,
"Ma'am, I've wondered all my life if I'd ever see an angel, and now I
have! Thank you!" Again, my mother's smile took in the whole group.
"You're all welcome!" she said. "God bless you." Then we walked across to
the house, with empty tray and pitchers, and back inside.
Soon, the men moved on, and I never saw them again. The only explanation
my mother ever gave me, for that strange and wonderful day, was that I
"remember, always, to entertain strangers, for by doing so, you may
entertain angels, without knowing."
Then, with a mysterious smile, she went about the rest of the day. I
don't remember what we ate for supper, that night. I just know it was
served by an angel.
A Chance to Start Over.
It was a cold December night in West Orange, New Jersey. Thomas Edison's
factory was humming with activity. Work was proceeding on a variety of
fronts as the great inventor was trying to turn more of his dreams into
practical realities. Edison's plant, made of concrete and steel, was
deemed "fireproof". As you may have already guessed, it wasn't!
On that frigid night in 1914, the sky was lit up by a sensational blaze
that had burst through the plant roof. Edison's 24-year-old son, Charles,
made a frenzied search for his famous inventor-father. When he finally
found him, he was watching the fire. His white hair was blowing in the
wind. His face was illuminated by the leaping flames. "My heart ached for
him," said Charles. "Here he was, 67 years old, and everything he had
worked for was going up in flames. When he saw me, he shouted, 'Charles!
Where's your mother?' When I told him I didn't know, he said, 'Find her!
Bring her here! She'll never see anything like this as long as she
lives.'"
Next morning, Mr. Edison looked at the ruins of his factory and said this
of his loss: "There's value in disaster. All our mistakes are burned up.
Thank God, we can start anew."
What a wonderful perspective on things that seem at first to be so
disastrous. A business failure, divorce, personal dream gone sour . . .
whether these things destroy an individual depends largely on the
attitude he or she takes toward them. Sort out why it happened, and learn
something from the blunders. Think of different approaches that can be
taken.
Start over.
joy
(From "As It Is In Heaven"/"Så Som I Himmelen"
It's now that life is mine
I have had a time here on Earth
And my longing has led me here
Things I missed and things I gained
This is still the road I've chosen
My confidence far beyond words
That has shown a little piece
Of the sky I've never reached
I want to feel that I have lived
All the time I have
I shall live what I want
I want to feel that I have lived
To know that I'm good enough
I have never forgotten who I was
I've just left it sleeping
Maybe I have had no choice
Only the will to exist
I want to live happily, for it's me who I am
To be able to be strong and free
See how night turns into day
I am here and my life is only mine
And the sky that I thought that existed
I shall find it there somewhere
I want to feel that I've lived my life
Det är nu som livet är mitt
Jag har fått en stund här på jorden
Och min längtan har fört mig hit
Det jag saknat och det jag fått
Det är ändå vägen jag valt
Min förtröstan långt bort om orden
Som har visat en liten bit
Av den himmel jag aldrig nått
Jag vill känna att jag lever
All den tid jag har ska jag leva som jag vill
Jag vill känna att jag lever
Veta att jag räcker till
(Oh, oh, oh...)
Jag har aldrig glömt vem jag var
Jag har bara låtit det sova
Kanske hade jag inget val
Bara viljan att finnas kvar
Jag vill leva lycklig
För att jag är jag
Kunna vara stark och fri
Se hur natten går mot dag
Jag är här
Och mitt liv är bara mitt
Och den himmel jag trodde fanns
Ska jag hitta där nånstans
Jag vill känna att jag levt mitt liv
What is This Surrender Thing about Anyway?
Greetings Friends,
What is surrender really all about?
So many of us, in the past including me, think too much. We worry, plan, doubt, and fight both ourselves and those we love. So I asked: "What is surrender really all about?" I received my answer, and much to my amazement, it isn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be.
So here it is:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Each of us Came into this life to create the highest and best version of ourselves that we can possibly become. This encompasses all aspects of our lives: all aspects of us. Not just our bank account, career stature, relationships, or acquisitions.
It encompasses every part of who we are within: Every part of our BEING that you and I ultimately want to bring forth in our observable life, from within, to the outside. There is a higher part of our consciousness. You can give this any name you prefer. The higher part of ourselves sees and knows exactly who we want to be. The grandest version we have of ourselves on every level. We can look at where we are now in our lives, and compare that to how we ideally would love to be.

For example: I used to be quite needy and clingy in relationships. I felt insecure. I thought I needed to have a committed relationship in order to be happy. I used to tolerate a lot, sacrifice my own self-respect, and not rock the boat out of fear. However, deep inside, I genuinely wanted to BE independent, confident, strong, and have the guts to go with the flow while I showed respect to myself, towards anyone who was in my life, and passionately thrive on every level as a whole and complete individual. Whatever is out of our comfort zone is the precise area that we are consciously resisting, because we are afraid. Thus it is in the explicit unconscious reaction where we find ourselves not bringing out our best, but instead, stagnating. This is the precise area where surrender is key, to move precisely in that direction, because ultimately, the release of this fear will bring out who we authentically are - our highest and best version of ourselves. After enough pain and regret, ultimately, we do 'surrender' however we are not giving up anything other than old outmoded patterns of expressing ourselves that completely go against the best self we can genuinely express.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you feel fear
So when you feel fear, or resistance, please know that it is a sign, a knock on the door of your consciousness that says: "Hey, this is bothering you, and upsetting you, because this is NOT who YOU REALLY ARE! This is the part of you that you learned throughout the course of your life to keep you from pain. However, being you are in some measure of pain NOW, your feelings of resistance are trying to get you to surrender."
To what? To the real you. Once you are aware, you can then take the next step, which is action. At the onset of this process, you will naturally feel great fear, because you are moving into personal territory that is unfamiliar to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The key
The key is to do exactly what you fear most, as long as it does not bring harm to your or anyone, and there, in that sublime moment, you have actually conquered your fear, shed the belief that whatever you are resisting will ultimately hurt you, and as a result, you are now BEING the REAL you. So when you surrender you are not leaping into a void of no return. You are leaping into the highest version of YOU that you have always wanted to become. That is all "surrender" truly means. Surrendering to the real you, as opposed to the person that you thought you needed to be in order to feel safe. Inner safety is for cowards. Inner risk is for the courageous. Why do you think so many people love the underdog; the one who made it in ANY area of their life?
There are great examples of people who conquered an addiction, or a fear of moving into a business venture that was passionately created from the inside out, which meant so much more than their seeming outer security, pension or retirement. Even the battered women who are petrified to leave, but somehow, find the guts from within to walk, as well as the men and women who finally become authentic, and risk showing love, rather than keep their beautiful hearts in the isolation of their comfort zone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The only comfort zone
The only comfort zone that brings fulfillment, and reward, is risk. Without risk, there is no life. With it, you live passionately. Once you do surrender to the area in which you personally find your greatest resistance, it is in that area, you will find the most profound rewards you can fathom. Surrender to your rewards. They are waiting for you. Your rewards are the greatest you that you came into this life to create.
I dare you to do it - for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Igniting the Process
Okay, the mini thesis above explained the mystery of surrender. Now here is how to go about actually doing it. You can apply this to ANY and EVERY area of your life where you feel uncomfortable or resistant.

First:
feel your feelings of resistance.

Second:
NOTICE what you are feeling. Take a step back and acknowledge the feelings to yourself. Admit it! Say: "I feel afraid."

Third:
accept this feeling. Tell yourself it is okay to have this feeling. Just as you would accept that you are thirsty, even after you had a glass of water, a feeling is just a feeling, so, accept it without judgment.

Forth:
release all negative judgment about having this feeling. Do you judge yourself for feeling cold on a winter night? Do you judge yourself for feeling afraid to sky dive? Many people feel like they are skydiving in varied areas of their lives. Simply accept whatever feeling you have, and tell yourself that it’s okay to have this feeling, period.

Fifth:
Ask yourself what you would genuinely prefer deep in your heart. How do you prefer to BE? If you didn't feel afraid, or label yourself and your feelings, what, precisely, would you be doing?

Sixth:
acknowledge that the highest and best person you are within is trying to come out. Acknowledge that this is your personal evolutionary process, and respect yourself for going through this process. Do you judge a flower seed for not blooming two days after it is planted? No. You respect and honor the process of its individual growth. I assure you that you are worthy of the same respect you give to plant life.

Seventh: DO IT! Whatever it is, no matter how many labels you gave to yourself in the past. No matter how many prior fears held you back before. That is your HISTORY; it is not your destiny. Your destiny exists solely in one moment - NOW. Even if you’re trembling, DO what you genuinely WANT to do. The first time is the hardest. After this it’s like a snowball going downhill. Your confidence will increase. Your inner self will be coming to the surface.

Eighth:
give yourself a much-deserved pat on the back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome home - to the REAL you. With much love, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Make this a magnificent day!

Greetings on the 2nd day of October with the theme of
Freedom. This is a Releasing/Cleansing Affirmation in the
first week of the month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I rescind obsolete vows of struggle, shame, sacrifice,
poverty, revenge, and unworthiness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
I have seen tears come to the eyes of many persons when I
have revealed the "vows of limitation" affirmation. This
affirmation is useful because human beings have put
limitations on themselves and others. While perhaps well-
intentioned, these vows have been used to limit the freedom
of not only the person who originally spoke them but also
passed to the generations that follow. Religious and marital
vows are often made for "all eternity," which is a very long
time; others were made "until death do us part," which is a
difficult concept to define. When you are dying in a
marriage, for example, how does that relate to a physical
death? And when a beloved spouse leaves the physical body
(called "death" in our culture), does that end the
relationship? Vows of a less ceremonial nature may sound
like, "I'll never speak to you again." Or, "I'll get you
for that." Or, "I'll always be yours." Or, "I promise to
keep this secret forever."

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Without over-analyzing your life, I suggest that you review
some of the vows you may have made that seem outdated. For
example, you may have told someone "I'll get back at you for
that!" Such a statement works in several ways: You can,
indeed, "get back at" someone, and you may also open
yourself to invite others to "get back at" you. You may
find that you often feel revengeful, or that others often
feel revengeful toward you, or you may have back problems!
Just select one statement of this nature that is relevant
for you and explore various aspects of it, without getting
obsessed by figuring it all out. A little of this goes a
long way.

Finding Pleasure in Everyday Life

"I sometimes wonder whether all pleasures are not substitutes for joy."

--C.S. Lewis

~*~ Topic of the Week - Finding Pleasure in Everyday Life ~*~

A few years ago, my friend Helen gave me the following quote by British
novelist, Iris Murdoch, on a tiny slip of paper:

"One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats."

For some reason, this simple line struck a cord with me and I've kept it
with me ever since. Over the last few months, it's been a helpful
reminder of how the little things we do that bring us pleasure can be an
enormous gift of comfort during difficult times. This week, I thought I'd
share a few of my favorite examples with you in the hopes that you find
one or two new ideas that might bring you a little happiness, too.

Here are some of the things I do that bring pleasure to life:

~*~ Get lost in a good novel.
~*~ Eat really good gum drops.
~*~ Run in the rain when it's warm out.
~*~ Bake a cake for our construction crew.
~*~ Leave funny messages on a friend's voicemail.
~*~ Put a few drops of a favorite essential oil on my pillow at bedtime.
~*~ Spend the day working in a comfy well-worn t-shirt and flannel pants.
~*~ Stay up late and watch back-to-back episodes of LOST on DVD.
~*~ Take long, hot baths with my great smelling oils and candles.
~*~ Warm the bed with an electric blanket well before I go to sleep.
~*~ Sit quietly and complete a round of prayers on a special set of prayer
beads I keep by my bed.
~*~ Collect meaningful quotes in a journal to read when I need a little
inspiration.
~*~ Buy a beautiful teacup at a local antique shop and use it as soon as I
get home.
~*~ Sit on the deck of our new house and search for Monarch butterflies.
~*~ Put lots of Nourishing Lavender Lotion on my feet with warm socks
before going to bed.
~*~ Sit by the window with a cup of tea and watch squirrels scurrying
around collecting acorns in the backyard.

These small acts of pleasure cost very little money (if any), and can
easily fit into a busy day. If you take a few moments to think about it,
I bet you can come up with your own list of pleasures -- the kind of
things that add joy to your day, soothe your heart, or calm your mind when
things get crazy.

When we're going through a stressful time, it's easy to lose track of the
things that make us feel good. So, years ago I made a list in a journal
and copied it so I'd always have access to it. Over time, I've added to
it as well. It's a great exercise -- something you could do right now.
See our "Take Action Challenge" below and get a head start on adding a
little more joy to your life. Remember, pleasure is good for the soul.

~*~ Take Action Challenge ~*~

What brings you pleasure? Stop for a moment and jot down four or five
things that you do to make yourself feel comforted. Do you sing, listen
to great music, doodle, or buy yourself flowers? Once you have a few
ideas in mind, do one of them today. If you have a hard time thinking of
examples, don't worry. It only means that it's been too long since you've
thought about your soul-care. Close your eyes and scan your past for
clues. They're there. Just wait . . .

VIEW EVERY PROBLEM AS AN OPPORTUNITY

There is always a good side to every situation.
Stay optimistic and try to see an opportunity in your problems,
not pessimistic and see problems in every opportunity.
The optimist sees the doughnut, the pessimist sees the hole.

You can develop success from any failure.
Failure is one of the surest stepping stones to success.
No element can do as much for you as failure can,
if you're willing to study it and make capital out of it.

When it is dark enough you can see the stars.

Becoming Free - A Reminder of the Principles of Life

1: Life does not work through indecision. Indecision promotes blocks,
confusion and stress. Make a decision and allow life to find movement
through you. Trust yourself.

2: The 3 C's of life are Courage, Capacity and Commitment. It takes
Courage and a commitment to make many of life's decisions, and capacity
to follow them through. The 3 C's of a successful relationship are
Caring, Consideration and Communication. Communication opens the door
between us, consideration allows us to pass through it and our ability to
care for each other unites us.

3: Truth is not truth out of timing- yet it remains truth. We are the
timing to recognize truth.

4: The mind recoils from the unknown, so we seek to make everything
known, and, thus sage. Imagination is the key to the unknown- positive,
uplifting imagination.

5: For as long as we search for Our God Self, we deny that we are it.
Loving your self reveals your truth.

6: Becoming free is not changing yourself into someone you think you
should be. Becoming free is falling in love with who you are- right now.

7: Imagine a room of pitch dark and a room of bright light connected by a
door. When you open the door what happens? Light floods into the dark
room, illuminating it. Live accordingly, think thoughts of light.

8: F.E.A.R- False Evidence Appearing Real

9: Anything of the past that is unresolved is unresolved now. Living NOW
resolves the past.

10: Life flows from the inside out, never the reverse. Understand this
and you cease to be a victim.

11: Love responds- fear reacts. Love connects- fear separates. Love
uplifts- fear deflates. Love creates- fear destroys.

12: There is no such thing as a mistake- only experience. There is no
such thing as failure- only people's condemnation. There is no such thing
as success- only people's approval. Let life live through you.

13: Do not get caught up in modifying your life, allow life to change
YOU. Modification is a superficial exterior veneer, change is an inner
shift in consciousness.

14: Pain is a measure of your resistance to change.

15: Decide whether you want to be an onlooker of life or a participant.
This is the birthplace of choice.

16: You hear with your ears- but you listen with your mind. You look with
your eyes- but you see from the heart.

17: Consciousness is not contained in your body- you are the
consciousness that contains the body. Consciousness draws to itself form
through which to express

18: Your mind cannot exist in the moment. You cannot think your way into
the moment, you can only think your way out of it. This indicates that
your mind/intellect cannot set you free. Only your consciousness is aware
of NOW. True freedom is a state of consciousness.

19: We each live in our own universe, a universe of our making. It is
designed to support our beliefs and our focus. Our thoughts are our
focus, so observe your thoughts, focus on your blessings, and trust. This
is how you become a participant.

20: Practise seeing all life around you as an aspect of yourself. In this
way you shatter the illusion of separation.

21: Your mind does now know the difference between what you do want or
what you don't want, it only knows what you focus on. Many people focus
on what they don't have, what they are incapable of doing and their
sicknesses.

22: If you focus on what you do have, it increases. If you focus on what
you don't have, you will have even less. If you focus on your
capabilities, they grow, if you focus on your health, it improves.

23: Your mind does not know the difference between a powerfully imagined
reality and a physical happening reality. Why? Because there is no
difference.

24: You only have a problem if you believe you have a problem.

25: Live these principles and you will be practising reality. Practise
reality until you overcome the illusion. It is only an illusion that you
are not free, now!

BAD IS NOT A FEELING

"The gold is in the dark."

-Carl Jung

One of the things which happens every time I teach an NLP
training is my senses are tuned up to a higher level and I begin
noticing things that I wouldn't normally notice in my day to
day life.

While leading the NLP practitioner training in London a few
weeks back, I became particularly aware of the number of times
that people attempted to describe their feelings in terms of
pictures, metaphors or internal dialogue instead of actual
physical sensations.

While there is nothing inherently wrong with this, it does tend
to keep people dissociated from what it really feels like to be
in your body. And while that means you might be able to take
the edge off some of your less comfortable feelings, it means
the edge is being continually taken off your most wonderful
feelings as well.

So before we go any further, answer this question:

*How do you feel, right now?*

If you like, you can write down your answer on a piece of paper
before reading on. If not, just notice that there are quite a
few different ways to answer, and most of them take you away
from simply feeling whatever is going on in your body, right
now.

Here are some of the most common types of answer to the
question:

1. Judgements and Comparisons

Whether you think you feel 'good', 'bad', 'comfortable',
'uncomfortable', 'horrible' or 'fantastic', you actually feel
none of those things - you simply feel how you feel and then
weigh up your feeling upon a mental scale of possibilities.

Similarly, if you say you feel 'better' or 'worse', you are
pushing away your current feeling in order to better compare it
with a different feeling - and researchers have now shown how
completely unreliable those emotional comparisons can be. (See
"Stumbling On Happiness" in the 'Want to Learn More?' section
at the end of the tip to learn more.)

2. Analogies

Another way of answering the question 'how do you feel?' is in
terms of an analogy - 'like an elephant is sitting on my chest',
'like the cat that got the cream', or even 'I feel like sh%t!'

In order to describe your feelings in this way, you have to
actually make a comparison to something else, and in order to do
that chances are you are listening to an inner voice telling
you about it or seeing an inner picture. Remember, this is not
a bad thing - it's just not the same as feeling what you are
feeling in your body.

3. Neutralizers

In the remake of the movie 'The Italian Job', Donald Sutherland
asks Mark Wahlberg's character how he feels.

'I'm fine', says Wahlberg.

'You know what 'fine' means don't you?' replies Sutherland.
'Fu**ed up, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional.'

'Neutralizers' like "fine", "OK", and "not bad" are all ways of
keeping our feelings at a distance - which is not a bad thing
to do unless you want to actually feel joyful, alive and filled
with energy!

4. Emotions

An emotion is not a feeling - it's a generalized description of
a set of sensations. And while answering the question 'how do
you feel?' with an emotional description (i.e. "I feel happy" or
"I feel sad") is a step closer to your actual feelings than any
of our previous options, it is based on an incomplete
perception of what it is going on in your body. While one set
of feelings may be in the foreground of your perception, its
opposite will always be somewhere in the background. (See
today's experiment for a fun experience of this phenomenon.)

So what is a feeling?

It is simply an internal sensation, like 'warm', 'tingly',
'cool', 'tight', or 'loose'. You may feel one thing in one part
of your body and something completely different in another,
though we are often only aware of one dominant sensation in any
given moment.

Your ability to perceive these inner sensations is called
'proprioception', which literally translated means 'one's own
perception'.

While you may prefer certain feelings to others, there is no
inherent good, bad, right or wrong to what you're feeling - and
more importantly, there is no need for any external explanation
of why you feel it.

Because the wonderful thing about feelings is that they're just
feelings. You don't need to do anything about them, although
you can. But every time you take the time to really feel what
you're feeling, you get to feel more alive as well.

And even though 'alive' isn't a feeling, it sure feels
wonderful, doesn't it?

--------------------
Today's Experiment:
--------------------

(Today's experiment is based on the work of Hale Dwoskin,
creator of 'Holistic Releasing')

1. Tune into your body, right now. Ask yourself "What am I
feeling, right now?"

2. Notice there are many sensations going on simultaneously.
Speak four or five of those sensations aloud along with where in
your body you are feeling them.

For example:

"I feel a cool tickly feeling behind my eyes; I feel a sharp,
tight tingling feeling in my nose; I feel a heavy sensation in
the back of my neck; etc."

3. Now, notice how completely opposite feelings and emotions can
be present at exactly the same time.

Ask yourself the following questions as many times as you like:

a. Could I let myself feel as
(feeling/emotion/judgement/comparison) as I do?

b. Could I let myself feel as (opposite
feeling/emotion/judgement/comparison) as I do?

Here are some pairs of opposites which are fun to explore:

*warm/cool
*happy/sad
*comfortable/uncomfortable
*good/bad

You may notice that after only a few repetitions, the feelings
begin to shift or even dissolve into one another.

Have fun, learn heaps, and happy exploring!

With love,
michael

Sonnet # LXXXIV.

Who is it that says most? which can say more
Than this rich praise, that you alone are you?
In whose confine immured is the store
Which should example where your equal grew.
Lean penury within that pen doth dwell
That to his subject lends not some small glory;
But he that writes of you, if he can tell
That you are you, so dignifies his story,
Let him but copy what in you is writ,
Not making worse what nature made so clear,
And such a counterpart shall fame his wit,
Making his style admired every where.
You to your beauteous blessings add a curse,
Being fond on praise, which makes your praises worse.

Wholeness

"Just an ordinary needle will do..."

No man is an island, we are all part of a vast continent. There is variety, but that does not make us separate. Variety makes life richer--part of us is in the Himalayas, a part of us is in the stars, a part of us is in the roses. A part of us is in the bird on the wing, a part of us is in the green of the trees. We are spread all over. To experience it as reality will transform your whole approach towards life, will transform your every act, will transform your very being.

It is reported in the life of a great Sufi mystic, Farid, that a king came to see him. He had brought a present for him, a beautiful pair of scissors, golden, studded with diamonds--very valuable, very rare. He touched Farid's feet and gave him the scissors; Farid took them, looked at them, gave them back to the king, and said, "Sir, many thanks for the present that you have brought. It is beautiful, but utterly useless for me. It will be better if you can give me a needle. Scissors I don't need; a needle will do."

The king said, "I don't understand. If you need a needle, you will need scissors too."

Farid said, "I am talking in metaphors. Scissors I don't need because scissors cut things apart. A needle I need because a needle puts things together. I teach love. My whole teaching is based on love--putting things together, teaching people communion. I need a needle so that I can put people together. The scissors are useless; they cut, they disconnect. Next time when you come, just an ordinary needle will be enough."

Logic is like a pair of scissors: it cuts, it makes things divided. Mind is a kind of prism--pass a ray of white light through it and immediately it is divided into seven colors. Pass anything through the mind and it becomes dual. Life and death are not life-and-death, the reality is lifedeath. It should be one word, not two; not even a hyphen in between. Lifedeath is one phenomenon. Lovehate is one phenomenon. Darknesslight is one phenomenon. Negativepositive is one phenomenon. But when you pass this one phenomenon through the mind, the one is divided immediately in two. Lifedeath becomes life and death--not only divided but death becomes antagonistic to life. They are enemies. Now you can go on trying to make these two meet, and they will never meet.

Kipling is right--"East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet." Logically, it is true. How can the East meet the West? How can the West meet the East? But existentially it is utter nonsense. They are meeting everywhere.

For example, you are sitting in India. Is it East or is it West? If you are comparing it with London, it is East; but if you are comparing it with Tokyo, it is West. What exactly is it, East or West? At each point East and West are meeting, and Kipling says, "Never the twain shall meet."

The twain are meeting everywhere. No single point is such that East and West are not meeting and no single man is such that East and West are not meeting. It cannot be otherwise; they have to meet--it is one reality, one sky.

Maturety

The distinction between the grasses and the blossoms is the same as between you not knowing that you are a buddha, and the moment you know that you are a buddha. In fact, there is no way to be otherwise. Buddha is completely blossomed, fully opened. His lotuses, his petals, have come to a completion.... Certainly, to be full of spring yourself is far more beautiful than the autumn dew falling on the lotus leaves. That is one of the most beautiful things to watch: when autumn dew falls on the lotus leaves and shine in the morning sun like real pearls. But of course it is a momentary experience. As the sun rises, the autumn dew starts evaporating.... This temporary beauty cannot be compared, certainly, with an eternal spring in your being. You look back as far as you can and it has always been there. You look forward as much as you can, and you will be surprised: it is your very being. Wherever you are it will be there, and the flowers will continue to shower on you. This is spiritual spring.

Celebration of Love Prayer

 Heart of Gold

Deep and restless....like the ocean
Happy and hopeful....like the laughter of children
Limitless and free.....like a misted horizon
May Love enter me lightly and dwell within me like a friend

Breathless and fragrant....like breeze across a rose bower
Heart-stopping and ardent.....like lips touching flesh
Sparkling and glittering....like night-time’s first star
May Love enter me softly and touch my soul with Light

Courageous and humble....like a bright warrior
Generous and gentle....like the rays of the Sun
Whispered and intimate....like secret winds across leaves
May love enter me tenderly and brush my spirit with its wings

Warm and bright....like the flame of a candle
Tinted and magickal.....like the sky’s rainbows
Tested and true....like the Love of the Goddess
May Love enter me completely and guide me ever in its way

May Love enter me lightly and dwell within me like a friend
May Love enter me softly and touch my soul with Light
May Love enter me tenderly and brush my spirit with its wings
May Love enter me completely and guide me ever in its way

May Love touch me with Life
Enfold me in its power
May it cast out my fears
And drive the darkness from my mind
May I live forever in the Light of Love

Believe in your unlimited potential

"You cannot see anything that you do not first contemplate as a reality."

-- Ramtha

How do you typically define yourself? Do you tell yourself and others that you are slow and methodical, that you have two left feet, that you are lazy, or unimaginative or that you can’t hang on to money?

In our unconscious self talk, most of us rarely say positive things about ourselves. List the positive and the negative ways you describe yourself. Then look over your list and contemplate how those definitions limit your ability to be cosmic in your outlook and performance.

"Belief has the word ‘lie’ in it... and that pretty much sums up what the world has us believing about ourselves."

-- Doug Firebaugh

"We are what we believe we are."

-- Benjamin N. Cardozo

Children - From the 'Prophet'

"Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet
they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their
own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in
the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For
life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent
forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you
with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in
the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as he loves the arrow that
flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable."

Make this a clear day!

Greetings on the 1st day of October with the theme of
Freedom. This is a Releasing/Cleansing Affirmation in the
first week of the month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I give myself permission to release bondage and oppression
from every level of the energy field. I turn my attention
to freedom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Make this a wondrous week!

Greetings on the 1st week of October with the theme of
Freedom. During this first week we focus on Releasing/
Cleansing Affirmations.

ABOUT YOUR INTENTION
If you have not already done so, please identify your over-
arching intention for Freedom. That is, develop a statement
that guides you in the exploration and embodiment of freedom.
Intention is the energy or consciousness from which actions
emerge. If you are uncertain how to write this intention,
just make an attempt. Keep it simple. You have 31 days to
work with the intention and the theme, so let your statement
change and deepen. Here are a few suggestions for
statements of intention about the theme of Freedom: *To
realize freedom on all levels of my being. *To know that I
am free; to know that I am me. *To embody freedom in every
aspect of my life. *To live each moment free and freely.

ABOUT RELEASING/CLEANSING AFFIRMATIONS and FREEDOM
The affirmations this week aid you in internal housecleaning
-- clearing away the thoughts, beliefs, and feelings related
to non-freedom and anti-freedom. Most individuals have had
experiences of freedom and non-freedom, yet the collective
experiences are varied. This week, cleanse, release,
forgive, and free yourself of dynamics of non-freedom. While
true freedom is an internal process, it is often helpful to
look at how you relate to your freedom in certain situations
or with respect to certain ideas. As you use these
situations for your learning, it is important that you not
give your power away to them. You want to gently release
resistance, not increase resistance.

There is a myriad of ways that foster feeling free or not
free: gender, race, skin tone, age, politics, culture,
class, educational level, religion and religious practices,
names, language, accent, national origin, speaking/speech,
intelligence, physical ability, physical appearance,
procreation, gathering/assembly, learning/academia, and
relationships (especially contractual relationships), such
as marriage, job, housing, banking, purchases. Well, this
is quite a list, and surely I have omitted some.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
As you proceed through this week, you may choose to select
one or more areas in which you wish to focus for your
exploration of freedom. While your statement of intention
is ideally broad enough to serve as an umbrella over every
aspect of your life, a focus on a specific area or
relationship may assist you in making all the ideas
practical and relevant.

I recommend that you write this week's affirmation(s), if
such an exercise appeals to you. I have developed a process
which is described in the book, "Affirmations: A Pathway to
Transformation" and in an article entitled, "Writing
Affirmations for Empowerment." You may request this and our
other articles by following the instructions below.

ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week
to represent releasing and cleansing for Freedom it would be
the affirmation for October 3: "I let go of everything that
blocks freedom. Angels assist in the removal of blockages."
Sometimes folks get upset when they do not understand what
they are releasing, which simply ADDS to the blockages. So
this affirmation says it all: we release EVERYTHING THAT
BLOCKS FREEDOM. Everything. It doesn't matter its origin
or color or location or vibration or level or label or sound
or gender. If it blocks freedom, it is to be released.
Give it no more attention than this, then focus on freedom.

Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus
on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or
some combination. You will receive each of these
affirmations on the appropriate days with additional
information and suggestions. Make your process work for
you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October 1:
I give myself permission to release bondage and oppression
from every level of the energy field. I turn my attention
to freedom.
October 2:
I rescind obsolete vows of struggle, shame, sacrifice,
poverty, revenge, and unworthiness.
October 3:
I let go of everything that blocks freedom. Angels assist
in the removal of blockages so that I can give my attention
to freedom.
October 4:
I release memories that allowed belief in helplessness and
hopelessness.
October 5:
I cut negative bonds of attachment to powerlessness and
slavery. I also cut away the belief that I can get my power
back by controlling others.
October 6:
I dissolve thoughts that suggest there is no freedom. I
stop arguing for limitations.
October 7:
I let Spirit (My Higher Self, God, My Spirit Guides, The
One, The Force, Infinite Source) purify any remaining
thoughts and feelings of bondage or inadequacy.
YOU MUST PAY THE PRICE FOR SUCCESS
Everything you want in life has a price connected to it.
There's a price to pay if you want to make things better;
a price to pay for just leaving things as they are,
a price for everything.
Nature cannot be tricked or cheated.
She will give up to you the object of your struggles
only after you have paid her price.
Success cannot be coaxed or bribed.
Pay the price and it will be yours.
The universe is run with far too tight a rein for luck to interfere.
Fortune sells her wares, she never gives them up freely.
In some form or another, you'll pay for her favors,
or you'll go away empty handed.
Success is the child of drudgery and perseverance.
There is no success at bargain basement prices.
The highway to success is a toll road.
How do you show you care?
"Love is not only something you feel. It is something you do."
-- David Wilkerson
In her book, ‘No Less Than Greatness,’ Mary Manin Morrissey speaks of a research study that explored how family members communicate with each other. Apparently, the most frequently spoken words between husbands, wives, sisters and brothers were "What’s on?" and "Move."
She goes on to say, "We all desire great relationships but often settle for just getting by. Many of us have stopped questioning the fact that we may know fictitious TV families more intimately than we do our own."
The most powerful force in our lives is our ability to love. Indeed, it’s the most basic essence of who we are. How do you experience and express your love for the people in your life?
"The whole idea of compassion is based on a keen awareness of the other.... The whole purpose of life is to live by love."
-- Thomas Merton
