Sonnet # LXXXIII.

I never saw that you did painting need
And therefore to your fair no painting set;
I found, or thought I found, you did exceed
The barren tender of a poet's debt;
And therefore have I slept in your report,
That you yourself being extant well might show
How far a modern quill doth come too short,
Speaking of worth, what worth in you doth grow.
This silence for my sin you did impute,
Which shall be most my glory, being dumb;
For I impair not beauty being mute,
When others would give life and bring a tomb.
There lives more life in one of your fair eyes
Than both your poets can in praise devise.

"Overrated"

Heart lock

Take my home
Take everything I own
Take it, take control
You will feel better
You will feel whole
You're so good
You stopped me where I stood
And let me look at love and I feel better
Oh, I feel good

I just want to give it all to you
I want to share this with you
Make you mine and mine will be all yours
Whatever you want and more
What I'm anticipating
Everything else will be over-rated
Baby, it's for you, it's all for you
You speak kind

Oh, if you were mine
What would we be like?
We would be liked
We would be...

I just want to give it all to you
I want to share this with you
Make you mine and mine will be all yours
Whatever you want and more
What I'm anticipating

Everything else will be over-rated
Everything else will be over-rated
Open up
Let me fill your cup
I can really pour it out
It will be like...
I will be enough

I just want to give it all to you
I want to share this with you
Make you mine and mine will be all yours
Whatever you want and more
What I'm anticipating
Everything else will be over-rated

Baby, it's for you
Baby, it's for you
Baby, it's for you
Baby, it's for you, it's all for you

“When the Student is Ready the Teacher will Appear.”

The Most Important Attitude

I have good friend name Caroline. I absolutely love spending time with her. No matter what we do or where we go, everyone always has a great time.

I grew up in Florida. I’ve spent more days at Disney theme parks than you could possibly imagine. And while I enjoy visiting Mickey Mouse and friends, I have to admit that the “wonder” of it all doesn’t hit me quite the way it used to.

So Caroline came to visit and several of us decided to go to Epcot– that’s where Caroline wanted to go. Honestly, I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to go to Epcot (no offense, Mickey)… but it’s just not my style.

Nevertheless, I booked our reservations at the Disney Beach Club (one of their hotels) and decided to go with the flow.

From the moment we arrived on Disney property, Caroline was like a little kid. Her face shined as she smiled at everyone… saying hi… making friends everywhere we went. The moment she saw the resort she was in awe.

It didn’t matter what we did or where we went, Caroline was in wide-eyed wonder. To her, everything was extraordinary. Even the bathroom soap, in the shape of mouse ears.:)

Just being around that type of energy made the experience all the more special. The day we spent at Epcot was one of the most enjoyable times I’ve ever had at any park. It was like Christmas with little children who get swept away in the magic of the Season.

So, what’s the point?

You see, Caroline is an “appreciator“… she approaches everything in life (whether it’s a Disney theme park or walking her dog, Mo) with an attitude of gratitude and appreciation.

That’s the secret!

You must practice an ATTITUDE OF GRATTIUDE.

There are two kinds of people in life… Appreciators and Depreciators.

Appreciators
are grateful for everything… they count their blessings big and small. They build people up,
encourage, support and raise the overall energy level and mood everywhere they go.

Depreciators do the opposite. Nothing is ever good enough. They’re quick to criticize and point out what’s wrong or what’s missing. They complain, make negative comments and are quick to find fault with others. You can tell when you’re in the presence of a depreciator because they zap you of your energy… they can bring an entire room down by just showing up.

You can’t experience a life of success, health, wealth and abundance and be a depreciator. You can’t focus on what’s wrong, what’s missing, what isn’t, what you don’t have or all the shortcomings of others and expect to experience a flood of health, wealth, happiness
and abundance in your life. It just can’t happen.

The “shortcut” to the life you want… the life of your DREAMS… is to practice an ATTITUDE OF GRATTIUDE in everything you do
.

When you’re grateful… when you have an attitude of gratitude… you put yourself in a place to attract only good things in your life. Gratitude brings you closer to your Creator… it opens a flood of abundance into your life.

So this is your chance to put yourself on the fast lane to the life of your dreams. It’s a change you can make right now, this very minute. When you do, you’ll instantly feel better and the results will follow shortly.

I recommend keeping a “Gratitude Journal” where you record your blessings… everything to be grateful for…no matter how big or small. Then we’re feeling down you can open your journal and read a few lines and immediately be reminded that you are supremely blessed.

Why not start now?

The thing is GRATITUDE is a STATE OF MIND. It’s not so much about specific “things” to point out… it’s more a practice… a way of life. It’s where you live. It’s who you are.

To help get yourself in the groove, stop and think through your life and realize how blessed you are. Take a few minutes to really BE THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for everything.

I’m grateful for so much in my life. Every day is an extraordinary gift… a chance to celebrate. Think about who you love and who loves you… and be thankful.

Gratitude… it’s the key that unlocks Heaven’s doors and unleashes an avalanche of abundance in your life. So begin living with an attitude of gratitude today.

I’m grateful for you… for the opportunity to share with you and bring you messages of hope and inspiration. You are blessing in my life.

Go practice Gratitude!

Faith and Belief: Faith: Staircase to God

Yours faithfully - A letter ends there. However, faith is the beginning
of the human quest for self-discovery and the Absolute. Faith can be
neither forced nor taught; it is an experience that transcends trust,
reason, belief and ideology.

Belief in religious scripture confines the mind; the trust we repose in
an individual, too, is a limiting factor. The intellect can only too
often weave a cobweb of theories, and reason can cause mistrust, taking
us away from discovering the great scope and depth of an infinite power
that's faith, that can otherwise serve as an effective spiritual guide.

Crime and Punishment - From the 'Prophet'

Forgiveness
"It is when your spirit goes wandering upon the wind, That you, alone and
unguarded, commit a wrong unto others and therefore unto yourself. And
for that wrong committed must you knock and wait a while unheeded at the
gate of the blessed.

Like the ocean is your god-self; It remains for ever undefiled. And like
the ether it lifts but the winged. Even like the sun is your god-self; It
knows not the ways of the mole nor seeks it the holes of the serpent. But
your god-self does not dwell alone in your being. Much in you is still
man, and much in you is not yet man, But a shapeless pigmy that walks
asleep in the mist searching for its own awakening. And of the man in you
would I now speak.

For it is he and not your god-self nor the pigmy in the mist, that knows
crime and the punishment of crime.

Oftentimes have I heard you speak of one who commits a wrong as though he
were not one of you, but a stranger unto you and an intruder upon y our
world. But I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise
beyond the highest which is in each one of you, So the wicked and the
weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.

And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of
the whole tree, So the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will
of you all.

Like a procession you walk together towards your god-self. You are the
way and the wayfarers. And when one of you falls down he falls for those
behind him, a caution against the stumbling stone. Ay, and he falls for
those ahead of him, who though faster and surer of foot, yet removed not
the stumbling stone.

And this also, though the word lie heavy upon your hearts: The murdered
is not unaccountable for his own murder, And the robbed is not blameless
in being robbed. The righteous is not innocent of the deeds of the
wicked, And the white-handed is not clean in the doings of the felon.
< br> Yea, the guilty is oftentimes the victim of the injured, And still
more often the condemned is the burden-bearer for the guiltless and
unblamed. You cannot separate the just from the unjust and the good from
the wicked; For they stand together before the face of the sun even as
the black thread and the white are woven together. And when the black
thread breaks, the weaver shall look into the whole cloth, and he shall
examine the loom also.

If any of you would bring judgment the unfaithful wife, Let him also
weight the heart of her husband in scales, and measure his soul with
measurements.

And let him who would lash the offender look unto the spirit of the
offended. And if any of you would punish in the name of righteousness and
lay the ax unto the evil tree, let him see to its roots; And verily he
will find the roots of the good and the bad, the fruitful and the
fruitless, all entwined together in the silent heart of the earth.

And you judge s who would be just, What judgment pronounce you upon him
who though honest in the flesh yet is a thief in spirit? What penalty lay
you upon him who slays in the flesh yet is himself slain in the spirit?
And how prosecute you him who in action is a deceiver and an oppressor,
Yet who also is aggrieved and outraged?

And how shall you punish those whose remorse is already greater than
their misdeeds? Is not remorse the justice which is administered by that
very law which you would fain serve? Yet you cannot lay remorse upon the
innocent nor lift it from the heart of the guilty.

Unbidden shall it call in the night, that men may wake and gaze upon
themselves. And you who would understand justice, how shall you unless
you look upon all deeds in the fullness of light?

Only then shall you know that the erect and the fallen are but one man
standing in twilight between the night of his pigmy-self and the day of
his god-self, And that the corner-stone of t he temple is not higher than
the lowest stone in its foundation."

"We Belong Together"

We belong together
like the open seas and shores
wedded by the planet force
we've all been spoken for

The hammer may strike, be dead on the ground.
a net to my hand, a cross on his crown.
we're done if, who we're undone,
finished if who we are incomplete.
as one we are everything,
we are everything we need.

we belong together
like the open seas and shores
wedded by the planet force
we've all been spoken for

What good is a life, with no one to share,
the light of the moon, the honor of a swear.
we can try to live the way in which you speak,
taste the milk of your mother earth's love,
spread the word of consciencness you see,
we are everything we need

We belong together
like the open seas and shores
wedded by the planet force
we've all been spoken for

All this indecision
all this independent strength
still
we've got our hearts on safe
we've got our hearts on safe

someday when you're lonley,
sometime after all this bliss,
somewhere lost in emptiness,
I hope you find this gift...
I hope you find this gift..
I hope you find this gift.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may
be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the
dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for
always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your
own career, however humble, it's a real possession in the changing
fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of
trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many
persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cyn ical about
love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantement, it is as
perrenial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things
of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not
distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue
and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you
have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt
the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive him to be. And whatever your labors and
aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful
world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Make this a purposeful day!

My unforgettable character

When I was a child I used to read a magazine that my parents subscribed to, which had a section called “My unforgettable character” for common people to talk about other common people who had influenced their lives. Of course, at that age (nine or ten), I also had already created my influential personality. On the other hand, I was certain that over the years this model would change, so I decided not to write to the magazine and submit my opinion (today I wonder how in those days they would have received the collaboration of someone my age).

Time has passed by. I have met many interesting people who have helped me at difficult moments and inspired me and shown me paths that had to be traveled. However, the great myths of childhood have always proved more powerful; they go through periods of devaluation, contestation and oblivion, but they remain, appearing on necessary occasions with their values, examples and attitudes.

My unforgettable character was called José, my grandfather’s youngest brother. He never married, worked as an engineer for may years, and when he retired he decided to live in Araruama, a city near Rio de Janeiro. That is where the whole family went to spend the summer holidays with the children. Uncle José was a bachelor, so he probably did not have much patience with that invasion, but that was the only moment when he could share a little of his loneliness with his grandnephews and nieces. He was also an inventor, and to accommodate us he decided to build a house where the rooms only appeared during the summer! He pressed a button and the walls descended from the roof, the beds and cupboards emerged from the outer walls, and there we had four bedrooms to lodge the newly-arrived! When Carnival was over, the walls were raised, the furniture went back inside the outer walls and the house was once more a big empty s! hed where he kept material for his workshop.

He built cars. Not just that, but he made a special vehicle to take the family to Araruama Lake – a mixture of jeep and train on tires. We went swimming, lived close to nature, spent the whole day playing, and I always wondered: “But why does he live here all alone? He has money, he could live in Rio!” He told stories of his trips to the United States, where he had worked in coal mines and ventured to places never visited before. The family used to say: “It’s all lies”. He was always dressed as a mechanic, and all the relatives commented: “He should get himself some decent clothes”. As soon as television came to Brazil, he bought a set and put it on the sidewalk so that the whole street could see the programs.

He taught me to love things done with the heart. He showed me the importance of doing what you wanted to do, regardless of what the others said. He sheltered me when as a rebellious adolescent I had problems with my parents. One day he told me: “I invented the hydramatic (the automatic gear shift in a car). I went to Detroit, got in touch with General Motors; they offered me US$ 10,000 on the spot or one dollar for every car sold with this new system. I took the ten thousand and lived the most fantastic years of my life.”

The family used to say: “Uncle José is always inventing things, don’t believe him.” And although I felt deep admiration for his adventures, for his style of life, for his generosity, I did not believe that story. I told journalist Fernando Morais about it only because Uncle José was my unforgettable character.

Fernando decided to do some checking and here is what he came up with (the text has been edited, because it is part of a long article):

The first automatic gear shift was invented by the Sturtevant brothers from Boston in 1904. The system did not work satisfactorily because of a problem with weight. But it was the invention of Brazilians Fernando Iehly de Lemos and José Braz Araripe, sold to GM in 1932, that contributed to the development of the hydramatic system launched by GM in 1939.”

With millions of hydramatic cars being turned out every year, the family who never believed in anything and thought that Uncle José dressed badly could have inherited an incalculable fortune. How good it is to know that he enjoyed some happy years spending his ten thousand dollars!

For the Love of God

<http://www.spws1.net/debbieford/images/DebFordBestYearHeader.jpg>;

Across the globe, this is a week to acknowledge the divine source of our
lives. From Ramadan to the Jewish High Holy days to the fall equinox, we
pay homage to the profound mystery that runs beneath the surface of our
conscious awareness.

As a student and a lover of the ancient wisdom traditions, I'm nourished
by many kinds of ritual, as long as they lead me to God. For example,
this past weekend I went from observing Rosh Hashanah on Saturday to
praising the Lord on Sunday with an earth-shaking Gospel choir.

But I think the ritual that moves me the most is tashlich, where we
gather with family and friends to "cast away" the sins of the past year
at the water's edge. I love that it's an opportunity to take care of
some of the unfinished business in my heart and make room for a more
integrated me in the year to come.

And although I adore this week of holy ritual, the truth is that every
day can be a holy day. Every day we have the opportunity to open our
eyes, connect with our soul, and experience the gift of life. When we're
connected, we're not run by our fear, worry, and pain. Instead, we're in
the present, certain that everything is as it should be and that we are
where we need to be right now. Divinely connected, we know that new
realities exist and that, ultimately, it is going to get better. When
we're connected, we know that no matter what life hands us, we are
protected and guided.

So it is my intention that the message contained in this newsletter be
kindling for your soul. May it light the fire to have you passionately
go after your faith. May it spark you to look for what's right about
your life - to be hungry for it, and to know it's coming, even if you
can't yet see it.

Think about it. Would you act differently if you knew you were blessed,
if you knew God was watching over you and protecting you? What
boundaries would you feel empowered to set? What requests would you
make? What doors would you allow to open if you knew you were divinely
held? And like the gospel singers who reach to the heavens with their
voices and their hands, what would happen in your life if you were
intentionally reaching up and pulling in that connection with the
divine?

So do that this week! Pull it in! Look for the blessings. Keep your eyes
open to new opportunities. If you know that they're there, you will
surely find them. And give yourself a break this week from questioning,
from not being sure, and from resignation and disappointment. Instead,
make a holy demand on yourself to live your faith rather than your
fear...and just watch what happens.

Take Action Now!

Find your faith.

L'Shana Tova & many blessings,
Debbie

Sonnet # LXXXII.

I grant thou wert not married to my Muse
And therefore mayst without attaint o'erlook
The dedicated words which writers use
Of their fair subject, blessing every book
Thou art as fair in knowledge as in hue,
Finding thy worth a limit past my praise,
And therefore art enforced to seek anew
Some fresher stamp of the time-bettering days
And do so, love; yet when they have devised
What strained touches rhetoric can lend,
Thou truly fair wert truly sympathized
In true plain words by thy true-telling friend;
And their gross painting might be better used
Where cheeks need blood; in thee it is abused.

There's hope!

“No matter how painful our early experiences were, our Essence cannot be harmed. Our Essence is waiting for the opportunity to reveal itself. In a very true sense, we are waiting for the opportunity to become ourselves. Our spirit is yearning to break free, to express itself ...

“And yet, ironically, we always fear and resist opening to that which is most real in us. When we trust in the process and give ourselves over to it, however, our true nature comes forth. The result is real integrity, love, authenticity, creativity, understanding, guidance, joy, power, and serenity—all of the qualities we are forever demanding that personality supply.”

Why Men Die Before Women

Do you know how tough it is being a man...?

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race, you're a male chauvinist.
If you stay home and do the housework, you're a pansy.

If you work too hard there is never any time for her.
If you don't work enough, you're a good-for-nothing bum.

If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay, this is exploitation.
If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay, you should get off your butt and find something better.

If you get a promotion ahead of her, that is favoritism.
If she gets a job ahead of you, it's equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks, it's sexual harassment.
If you keep quiet, it's male indifference.

If you cry, you're a wimp.
If you don't, you're an insensitive pig.

If you make a decision without consulting her, you're a chauvinist.
If she makes a decision without consulting you, she's a liberated woman.

If you ask her to do something she doesn't enjoy, that's domination. If she asks you, it's a favor.

If you appreciate the female form and frilly lingerie, you're a pervert. If you don't, then you can?straight.

If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape, you're sexist.
If you don't, you're unromantic.

If you try to keep yourself in shape, you're vain.
If you don't, you're a slob.

If you buy her flowers, you're after something. If you don't, you're not thoughtful.

If you're proud of your achievements, you're full of yourself.
If you don't, you're not ambitious enough.

If she has a headache, she's tired.
If you have a headache, you don't love her anymore.

NO WONDER MEN DIE BEFORE WOMEN

Friendship

Are we friends
or are we not?
You told me once
But I forgot
Tell me now
and tell me true
so can I say
I'm here for you
Of all the friends I've ever met
Your the one I won't forget
And if I die
before you do
I'll go to heaven
And wait for you
I'll give the angels
back their wings
And risk the loss
Of everything
Just to prove
My friendship is true
To have a friend just like you

True Friends

There are many people that we meet in our lives
but only a very few will make a lasting impression
on our minds and hearts.
It is these people that we will think of often
and who will always remain important to us
as true friends
Thank You For Your Friendship

What lies behind us...

 ....and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
There are many things of which a wise man might wish to be ignorant.

Don't reject the ego

“Nourishing the soul is the process of drinking at the life stream, coming back to one’s true self, embracing the whole of one’s experience – good, bad, or ugly; painful or exalted; dull or boring.”

-- Jon Kabat-Zinn

Spiritual teachings sometimes counsel a need to let go of the ego. In our view, though, ego and personality are essential players in our theatre of life. Personality is the vehicle for Spirit to evolve through form. Soul sparks the potential that exists within the personality.

We don’t want the ego to disappear – we want it to open to divine guidance so the two may work together in alignment.

And so the path of personality aims to build a healthy, skilful ego. Ironically, only a strong, mature ego can take responsibility for carrying the consciousness of soul.

“How do we nurture the soul? By revering our own life. By treating it as supremely important. By reaching for the best within ourselves. By learning to love it all, not only the joys and the victories, but also the pain and the struggles.”

-- Nathaniel Branden

Supreme Consciousness

"The day on which we come to know the supreme consciousness within
us, then the outside world also will appear to us like the expanse of
the supreme consciousness." ~ Osho*

Peace

“Peace needs to be in everyone’s life. Of all the things we have tried in this world, there is one thing we have never given a chance. That one thing is peace. If we want to hope for something, maybe we could hope in our heart that peace will come in our life. The peace we are looking for is within. It is in the heart, waiting to be felt. It is not the world that needs peace; it is people. When people in the world are at peace within, the world will be at peace.”

Prem Rawat, known also by the honorary title Maharaji

Sonnet # LXXXI.

Or I shall live your epitaph to make,
Or you survive when I in earth am rotten;
From hence your memory death cannot take,
Although in me each part will be forgotten.
Your name from hence immortal life shall have,
Though I, once gone, to all the world must die:
The earth can yield me but a common grave,
When you entombed in men's eyes shall lie.
Your monument shall be my gentle verse,
Which eyes not yet created shall o'er-read,
And tongues to be your being shall rehearse
When all the breathers of this world are dead;
You still shall live--such virtue hath my pen--
Where breath most breathes, even in the mouths of men.

What are you procrastinating?

"The greatest amount of wasted time is the time not getting started."

-- Dawson Trotman

Procrastination seriously drains our energy and our morale. What remains undone nags at us.

What are you avoiding? Make a list of items and then review each one. Does it really need to be done? After you've reviewed your list, prioritize it and start one task today.

Please do not procrastinate taking one minute to write down your answer to this question. Capture it on paper and this will help build awareness, commitment and discipline.

"How soon not now, becomes never."

-- Martin Luther

"Talk does not cook rice."

-- Chinese proverb

"Do you know what happens when you give a procrastinator a good idea? Nothing!"

-- Donald Gardner

ALL GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS TAKE TIME

Every big accomplishment is a series of little accomplishments.
To achieve maximum success
you must accept that progress is made one step at a time.

A building is built one brick at a time.
Football games are won one play at a time.
A business grows bigger one customer at a time.
You walk over the highest mountain one step at a time.

Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.
Nothing great is created suddenly,
any more than a bunch of grapes or an apple miraculously appears.

If you want to grow an apple,
you must give it time.
There must be time for it to blossom,
bear fruit and then ripen.

That which grows fast, withers as rapidly.
That which grows slowly, endures.

TONGLEN

========

"There is chaos under the heavens and the situation is
excellent."

-Mao Tse Tung

One of the few perks of going through a period of loss, crisis
and/or suffering is that when you come out the other side (and
nearly everyone does, sooner or later), you realize that you are
a lot stronger than you probably thought you were, and that
strength doesn't leave you even after the crisis has past.

My first real experiences of this came in my second year of my
theatre degree when I was placed with a group of my colleagues
on probation for the final six weeks of the school year.
Whichever one of us got it together and performed well in the
final productions would get to stay in the professional actor
training program and ultimately audition for the top agents and
casting directors in New York and LA; the others would be
downgraded to a 'Theatre Arts' program where we would spend our
time studying the role of politics in the oeuvre of Bertolt
Brecht instead of actually getting to ply our craft.

So stressful was this 'sorting' process on our ownly slightly
post-adolescent minds that in my year alone there were two
attempted suicides and one guy (who happened to be my best
friend) committed to a mental institution during this time
frame.

While I would like to say I handled the situation with ease and
grace, the reality is I spent the vast majority of the six
weeks drunk, following my lunch time margarita with a rotor of
happy hour 2 for 1 specials which carried me through evening
rehearsals and on one or two unfortunate occasions, the
performances themselves.

Samuel Johnson once said that 'knowing one is going to die in a
fortnight focuses the mind wonderfully', and despite my often
drunken state, I began to become clear in the final days before
the decision would be made that I was not the only one
suffering.

In one particular moment of clarity which I can only ascribe to
divine grace or my having run out of vodka, I realized that if
I were to go through and my fellow actors were not, I would
feel their pain as acutely as I did my own.

It was around that time that I was introduced to the ancient
Buddhist practice of 'Tonglen' - a meditation which brings
compassion to life by asking the practitioner to breathe in the
pain and suffering of others and breathe out kindness, love and
compassion.

Unlike the advice of most of the well-meaning people around me
and my own instinct to avoid my pain at any cost, Tonglen
invited me to not only feel it completely but to seek it out in
the world around me.

With each in-breath, I would breathe in the pain and suffering,
anger and loss, sadness and despair; with each out-breath, I
would direct as much love, happiness and good feeling as I could
find back out into the world.

While part of me thought it was nuts to deal with my own pain by
taking on even more of it, the reality was that each time I
practiced, I felt better. If I was going to go down, as I was
sure I was at the time, I was not only not going to take anyone
with me, I was going to do all that I could that I went down
alone.

Recently, I came across a photo I took of the panel of teachers
who I had to face on the final day of term, posed in mock
seriousness like a firing squad. When they told me I had been
chosen to remain in the program, I burst into tears of disbelief
as they told me what had convinced them was my incredible
strength throughout the ordeal.

I didn't feel strong. I didn't feel worthy. I didn't think
positive, and I didn't 'believe in myself'. But I did survive,
and I did make it through, and better still a few of my
compatriots whose own fear and worry and sadness I had breathed
in on a daily basis made it through along with me.

What I learned was not only that I was a lot stronger than I
thought I was, but that I could find that strength most easily
when I used it to support the people around me. And while I
wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy, I am
eternally glad I went through it.

(Because I know some of you will ask, they changed the theatre
program the year after I left so that actors were no longer
'cut' at the end of the second year. And while it would be
unrealistic to say I completely gave up drinking, I did give up
getting drunk as a way of trying to cope with the stresses and
strains of my life!)

In today's experiment, I will introduce you to the steps of
Tonglen so you can begin to experience it for yourself. To
learn more about the practice, see the resources in this week's
'Want to Learn More?' section at the end of today's tip...

-------------------
TODAY'S EXPERIMENT:
-------------------

1. Open yourself up to the wholeness of the universe - the space
in which birth and death, joy and suffering, war and peace
continually arise and fall away.

2. From this place, breathe in the 'texture' of suffering. You
may imagine this as a thick, heavy black smoke. Each time you
exhale, breathe out the texture of love, kindness and
compassion - many people experience this as white, light and
refreshing.

3. When you have a sense for yourself of the transformation of
energy happening inside you, think of a specific person or
incident to work with. This can be a person you saw in the
street, someone you know intimately, or even a yourself.

Now, with each in-breath you are breathing in the pain of that
person or incident, and with each out-breath you are directing
the energy of love, compassion and kindness back to that person
or incident.

4. Finally, extend your transformational compassion to the wider
world - breathe in the suffering of the planet and breathe out
well-being, love and peace.

As with many practices, Tonglen is far easier to practice than
to understand. I hope you will choose to share your experiences
with me on the forums at:
http://www.geniuscatalyst.com/newforums/index.php.

Until next time,
michael

"I Am Made Of You"

winter

I came a long way From out of nowhere I stand before you
All alone Like a wolf's cry in the distance
I heard the calling Of your soul
Oh... I hear you cryin'

With your love Show me how to live
'Cause you are made of me
And I am made of you With your life
Show me how to give You are made of me
And I am made of you

We'll walk together
Through the fire
Through the darkness
To the sun
Like two raging rivers full of passion
At the ocean We are one
Oh... I hear you cryin'

I am made of you You are made of me
And everything you are
Is what I'm meant to be I am made of you
You are made of me And everything I am
Is what you made of me Oh... I hear you crying
Oh... Through the darkness To the light

With your heart
Show me what is true
'Cause you are made of me
And I am made of you With your soul
Walk my spirit through
You are made of me
And I am made of you
Oh... I hear you crying through the darkness, through the light

Learning to Ask for Help

The response to last week's newsletter has been a powerful reminder of
what happens when we're willing to be vulnerable with others -- something
that's not very easy for me to do. I can't thank you enough for your
beautiful acorn stories, shared experiences, prayers, poems, and well
wishes for my husband Michael (and me). There's nothing like feeling a
heartfelt connection with others to make the stress of life's challenges
easier to bare.

As many of you know, it's tough being in the role of caregiver. Whether
you care for an ill spouse or partner, an aging parent, or a sick child,
it can feel like an endless struggle to keep your head above water.
That's why it's so important to reach out to others for support. Asking
for help *before* you get overwhelmed is good self care for you and your
loved one. Otherwise, when we wait too long to get the help we need, we
end up feeling resentful and irritable. I know I do. When I neglect to
ask for help, I develop a kind of edginess that makes me tough to be
around.

So how do you know when support is long overdue? Here are a few warning
signals:

You hear yourself chronically complaining about how much you have to do.
You feel like the weight of the world is resting squarely on your back.
You fantasize about packing a bag and leaving for the nearest deserted
island.
You feel like you need a good cry or you find yourself crying at
unexpected times and in unexpected places.
You start yelling at inanimate objects or at drivers in front of you who
are going the speed limit.
You feel so exhausted that the idea of brushing your teeth feels like too
much work.

These behaviors are signs that you need someone to lean on -- now. Sure,
I know that asking for and receiving help is challenging for most women,
myself included. Many of us use the same arguments: "No one can do it
better than me," or "It takes too much time to explain what needs to be
done," and "It's just easier to do it myself." And while I've used these
same excuses, I believe there are even deeper reasons as to why we tend to
wait too long to get the support we so rightly deserve.

Sometimes it's easier to go it alone than to face the reality that you
don't have the kind of people in your life who can provide you with the
support you need. Maybe you've surrounded yourself with people who always
need you. Or, maybe it's been so long since you've had someone take care
of you, that you don't even know what you need anymore. And then there's
the fear of being disappointed. What if you do reach out for help and no
one shows up?

While finding good support can be tricky, there's a good chance you have
at least one person who would be willing to help if you simply asked. If
not, then consider members of your church group, book club, a Life
Makeover Group, or the local elderly center. It's funny, when I talk to
most caregivers, it's surprising to hear that the kinds of support that
truly make a difference are really quite simple to deliver. Things like:

A hug
A thank you
A listening ear
A good cup of tea
An encouraging word
A reminder that the stress will end
An acknowledgement of their hard work

If the idea of receiving one of the above gifts feels like a blessing at
this time in your life, then take a risk and ask for what you need. In
all my years of coaching, I've never had one client die of disappointment
:). And, if you don't get what you need right away, keep trying.
Developing the skill of asking for help is a key ingredient to living a
full and rich life.

Today I'm grateful to be a caregiver -- it's teaching me several important
lessons. For example, I'm learning that I can be loving and compassionate
even when I don't think I have anything left to give; that my ability to
be vulnerable is actually a strength; and most of all, I'm learning that
I'm stronger than I know. You are, too. By embracing the role of
caregiver and asking for help, you're sure to tap into a well of power
that you never knew existed.

~*~ Take Action Challenge ~*~

If you're a caregiver, identify one or two people who can help you and ask
for support -- a trip to the grocery store to pick up a few things, a
pre-cooked meal, or a chance to get together to simply talk. If you have
someone in your life who's providing care for a loved one, offer to help.
Set a phone date and invite the caregiver to vent a bit, offer to take the
kids for an afternoon, or simply share a hug. Anything to make their life
a little easier . . . .

Why are you doing that?

"What we see depends mainly on what we look for."

-- Sir John Lubbock

Throughout the day, continually ask yourself about your underlying motivation. Why are you doing what you are doing?

Is it for selfish, manipulative or fearful reasons? Is it for honest service with integrity? Maybe you’ll discover you don’t know. Perhaps you will see that much of your activity lacks purpose.

This is a great way to become more conscious. Your intention and motives are fundamental to the results you will receive. Set high intentions and your life will blossom.

"The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving."

-- Oliver Wendell Holmes

Short Spiritual Stories

Remember the example of an old cow:
She's content to sleep in a barn.
You have to eat, sleep and shit-
That's unavoidable-anything
Beyond that is none of your business.
Do what you have to do

And keep yourself to yourself.

PATRUL RINPOCHE

YOU CAN LIVE YOUR DREAM

You have to make your own opportunities.
Your future is not a matter of chance.
It's a matter of the choices you make.
It's not something you wait for.
It's something you must actively pursue.

Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities.
Seize common occasions and make them great.
Opportunity can come disguised in the form of misfortune,
or temporary defeat.

Start today, right where you are.
Distant fields will always appear greener.
Yet, golden opportunities are all around you.

People will forget...

...what you said
People will forget what you did

But people will never forget
How you made them feel...

As we sail...

...through life,
don't avoid storms and rough waters
Just let it pass
Just sail
Always remember
calm seas never made
skillful sailors...

Wonderful Blessings to You

For the many people around the world who are
celebrating special Holidays right now, I wish you
and your loved ones every wonderful blessing life can
bring.

Love, Light and Laughter
Maya

Sonnet #80 LXXX.

O, how I faint when I of you do write,
Knowing a better spirit doth use your name,
And in the praise thereof spends all his might,
To make me tongue-tied, speaking of your fame!
But since your worth, wide as the ocean is,
The humble as the proudest sail doth bear,
My saucy bark inferior far to his
On your broad main doth wilfully appear.
Your shallowest help will hold me up afloat,
Whilst he upon your soundless deep doth ride;
Or being wreck'd, I am a worthless boat,
He of tall building and of goodly pride:
Then if he thrive and I be cast away,
The worst was this; my love was my decay.

Man not Measure Of All Things

Man is no longer to be the measure of all things, the centre of the
universe. He has been measured and found to be an undistinguished bit of
matter, different in no essential way from bacteria, stones and trees.
His goals and purposes, his egocentric notions of past, present and
future; his faith in his power to predict and through prediction to
control his destiny - all these are called into question, considered
irrelevant, or deemed trivial.

THE FOUR RELIANCES

In Buddhism we establish whether a teacher is authentic by whether or not
the guidance he or she is giving accords with the teachings of the
Buddha. It cannot be stressed too often that it is truth of the teaching
which is all-important, and never the personality of the teacher. This is
why Buddha reminded us in the "Four reliances":

Rely on the message of the teacher, not on his personality;
Rely on the meaning, not just on the words;
Rely on the real meaning, not just the provisional one;
Rely on your wisdom mind, not on your ordianry, judgmental mind.

So it is important to remember that the true teacher, as we shall see, is
the spokesman of the truth: its compassionate "wisdom display." All the
buddhas, masters, and prophets, in fact are the emanation of this truth,
appearing in countless skillful, compassionate guises in order to guide
us through their teachin, back to our true nature. At first then, more
impor tant than finding the teacher is through making a connection with
the truth of the teaching, for it is through making a connection with the
truth of the teaching that you will discover your living connection with
a master.

Make this an uplifting day!

Follow the 80/20 rule

“Nothing can add more power to your life than concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets.”

-- Nido Qubein

The 80/20 rule says that on a list of 10 tasks, only 2 of those tasks will return 80% of the value of the entire list. Look at your ‘to do’ list for today. Which tasks are directly related to what you most want in life? Find the 2 high value items on your list and tackle them first. These tasks are the ones that really move us forward.

Many of us actively avoid the top 2 priorities because they are more challenging than the rest. If they are to lead us to worthy goals, they are undoubtedly asking us to move into new territory in thinking and acting, and this can be scary. But this is also REWARDING!

“Don’t kid yourself: it’s because you’re doing all those C’s (low priorities) and NOT because you haven’t any time, that you don’t get to do your A’s.”

-- Alan Lakein

BE PREPARED WHEN OPPORTUNITY COMES

Luck is the time when preparation and opportunity meet.
When you're prepared, your chance for success will come.
You can change chance into good fortune if you're ready.

By the law of periodical repetition,
everything which has happened once
must happen again and again and again.

Not capriciously, but at regular periods,
and each thing in it's own period,
and each obeying it's own law.

There is a tide in your affairs,
when taken at the flood,
that will lead you on to fortune.
As events tend to repeat themselves,
the tide of opportunity will come to you.

The only sure thing about luck is that it will change.

Make this a dynamic week-plus!

Greetings on the 4th week of September with the theme of
Abundance. During this fourth week we focus on Acting/
Claiming Affirmations, and the last days of the month we
focus on Integrating/Embodying Affirmations. Make this a
dynamic week-plus!

DailyAffirm began Twelve Years Ago this Month!

Read DailyAfirm on the Internet, with links to resources.
You can also make comments at http://www.dailyaffirm.com

ABOUT ACTING/CLAIMING AFFIRMATIONS and ABUNDANCE
During this month so far, DailyAffirm has used affirmations
to dump non-abundance, to clarify and open to abundance, and
to define and resonate with abundance. Now, you get to act.
To claim. To manifest. To do. Although you must be clear
that money and abundance are not the same, you also need to
recognize that your relationship with money can assist you
in resonating with the energy of abundance. Indeed, you can
use anything to learn this; however, I choose money because
so many folks are struggling with money (or more accurately,
struggling without money). Many people claim to be focused
on money or abundance, yet in reality they are focused on
the lack of money because of their belief in scarcity. It
is important to recognize that you have created and attracted
the situations in which you find yourself; if your situations
or conditions are unsatisfactory, you can move yourself out
of them simply by thinking and feeling more positively, more
often.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Consider what action or actions symbolize the epitome of
abundance for you. Let your imagination run wild. Perhaps
your image is flying without an airplane, or traveling all
over the world, or hiring a full time cook and housekeepers
for your elegant home, or climbing to the top of a mountain.
This is YOUR picture, please do not feel limited by my simple
suggestions. Write a description or draw a picture of this
action. Over the next seven days, take at least three more
actions related to manifesting this idea of abundance in
your life. (Note: to write or draw a picture is an action.)

ABOUT ADDITIONAL OPTIONS TO SUPPORT YOU THIS WEEK
I will be giving lots of ideas about strategies for money,
prosperity, and abundance in the daily messages of the
DailyAffirm List over the next seven days. I will talk
about how to tithe, explain how to magnetize the energy
field, and other surprises. If you ordinarily only read
the weekly overview message, perhaps this is a good week
to read the daily messages as well.

ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week
to represent acting and claiming for abundance it would be
"I manifest from abundance. With the consciousness of
abundance, I give. With the consciousness of abundance, I
receive." This is the affirmation for September 25. So
many people begrudgingly give, yet expect to receive all the
gifts of the Universe. Some people get angry about having
to pay their light bill, yet light is precisely what you are
bringing into the planet.

Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus
on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or
some combination. You will receive each of these
affirmations on the appropriate days with additional
information and suggestions. Make your process work for
you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
September 22:
Abundance energizes my actions as I step firmly on the path.
September 23:
I act with abundance in my heart. I speak with abundance on
my lips. I walk with abundance in my feet.
September 24:
I claim abundance. I claim my power. I am free.
September 25:
I manifest from abundance. With the consciousness of
abundance, I give. With the consciousness of abundance, I
receive.
September 26:
I draw a circle of abundance to establish my space, which is
always expanding.
September 27:
I let every act be an act of abundance.
September 28:
I act with purposeful awareness of abundance by giving
thanks to my Source of abundance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ABOUT INTEGRATING/EMBODYING AFFIRMATIONS and ABUNDANCE
We only have two days this month to integrate and embody the
idea of abundance. We take these two days to reflect over
the preceding four weeks. We breathe in abundance and
breathe out non-abundance. We see abundance in every single
opportunity, every moment, everyone. We merge with the
energy of abundance.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
You only have two days this month to integrate and embody
the idea of abundance. Take these two days to reflect over
the preceding four weeks. Breathe in abundance and breathe
out non-abundance. See abundance in every opportunity,
every moment, everyone. Merge with the energy of abundance.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
September 29:
I breathe abundance into all levels of my being.
September 30:
Today is an opportunity for abundance.
The Four Faults
Why is it that people should find it so difficult even to conceive the
depth and glory of the nature of mind? Why does it seem to many such an
outlandish and improbable idea?
The teachings speak of four faults, which prevent us from realizing the
nature of mind right now
1. The nature of minds is too close to be recognized. Just as we are
unable to see our own face, mind finds it difficult to look into it's own
nature.
2. It is too profound for us to fathom. We have no idea how deep it could
be; if we did, we would have already, ta a certain extent, realized it.
3. It is too easy for us to believe. In reality all, we need do is simply
to rest in the naked, pure awareness of the nature of mind, which is
always present.
4. It is too wonderful for us to accomadate, The sheer immensity of it is
too vast to fit into our narrow way of thinking. We just can't believe
it. Nor can we possibly imagine that enlightenment is the re al nature of
our minds
Make this a joyful day!
A GOAL IS ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR SUCCESS
There is no achievement without a goal.
In whatever position you find yourself,
determine your primary objective first.
Until your thoughts are linked to a purpose
there can be no accomplishment.
Only you can determine what you want out of life.
You decide on your major objectives and goals.
A goal gives you a place to start.
If you don't know where you're going,
how can you expect to get there?
The world always makes room for the person
whose words and actions show that they know where they're going.
The first essential ingredient of success is to know what you want.
"Angels Brought Me Here"
It's been a long and winding journey, but i'm finally here tonight
Picking up the pieces, and walking back into the light
Into the sunset of your glory, where my heart and future lies
There's nothing like that feeling, when i look into your eyes...
My dreams came true, when i found you
I found you, my miracle...
If you could see, what i see, that you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...
Standing here before you, feels like i've been born again
Every breath is your love, every heartbeat speaks your name...
My dreams came true, right here in front of you
My miracle...
If you could see, what i see, you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...
Brought me here to be with you,
I'll be forever grateful (oh forever Faithful)
My dreams came true
When I found you
My miracle...
If you could see, what i see, you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...
Yes they brought me here...
If you could feel, the tenderness i feel...
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...
Sonnet # LXXIX.
Whilst I alone did call upon thy aid,
My verse alone had all thy gentle grace,
But now my gracious numbers are decay'd
And my sick Muse doth give another place.
I grant, sweet love, thy lovely argument
Deserves the travail of a worthier pen,
Yet what of thee thy poet doth invent
He robs thee of and pays it thee again.
He lends thee virtue and he stole that word
From thy behavior; beauty doth he give
And found it in thy cheek; he can afford
No praise to thee but what in thee doth live.
Then thank him not for that which he doth say,
Since what he owes thee thou thyself dost pay.
Fill up your tank
“How do we keep our inner fire alive? Two things, at minimum, are needed: an ability to appreciate the positives in our life – and a commitment to action. Every day, it’s important to ask and answer these questions: ‘What’s good in my life?’ and ‘What needs to be done?’”
-- Nathaniel Branden
I have found there’s a very different quality to my action when it springs from a sense of abundance as opposed to a feeling of being impoverished.
When I sense I’m not good enough or that I don’t have enough, I feel driven to be better and to have more. Whatever I do takes effort – there’s an element of struggle involved. And this makes sense because there’s no fuel – I’m working on an empty tank.
When I’m feeling abundant, I act out of my own inspiration. I’m rich and full and so the energy flows naturally. This action at times feels almost effortless.
It's important to remember that we don't need money to be abundant. All we need is appreciation of all that we have.
“ ...what I focus on in life is what I get. And if I concentrate on how bad I am or how wrong I am or how inadequate I am, if I concentrate on what I can’t do and how there’s not enough time in which to do it, isn’t that what I get every time? And when I think about how powerful I am, and when I think about what I have left to contribute, and when I think about the difference I can make on this planet, then that’s what I get. You see, I recognize that it’s not what happens to you; it’s what you do about it.”
-- W. Mitchell
IT'S NEVER OVER UNTIL YOU SAY IT'S OVER
The power to hold on in spite of everything, to endure,
this is the quality of a winner.
Your greatest glory is not in never failing,
but in rising every time you fail.
It's your constant and determined effort
that will eventually break down all resistance
and sweep all the barriers before you.
Persistence means taking pains to overcome every obstacle,
to do all that's necessary to reach your goal.
All great achievements require time.
Endurance is the crowning quality of success.
Live in relaxation
"It would be glorious to see mankind at leisure for once. It is nothing but work, work, work."
-- Henry David Thoreau
Is relaxation possible only when we’re not working? No. With awareness and practice, we can be relaxed no matter what we are doing. In fact, when we work in a relaxed state, our productivity increases as our effort decreases.
For true relaxation, we need to connect with our bodies -- to consciously and intentionally become aware of tension and release it.
"Anxiety breaks a man’s backbone."
-- Hebrew proverb
"Don't hurry, don't worry. You're only here for a short visit. So be sure to stop and smell the flowers."
Battlefields
A Warrior of the Light cannot always choose his battlefield.
Sometimes, in the middle of battles not of his choosing, he is taken by surprise, but there is no point in running away. Those battles will merely follow him.
Then, at the point when conflict seems almost inevitable, the Warrior talks to his opponent. Showing neither fear nor cowardice, he tries to find out why the other man wants to fight, what made him leave his village in order to seek him out to fight  this duel. Without even unsheathing  his sword, the warrior persuades his opponent that this is not a fight for him.
A Warrior of the Light listens to what  his opponent has to say. He only fights if absolutely necessary.
Paolo Coelho
Responsibility
The Latin root of the word responsibility reveals its true meaning: the capacity to respond, to react.
A responsible Warrior is one who has proved able to observe and to learn. he is even capable of being "irresponsible." Sometimes, he has allowed himself to be carried along by a situation, without responding or reacting.
But he always learned his lesson; he took a stand, listened to advice, and was humble enough to accept help.
A responsible Warrior is not someone who takes the weight of the world on his shoulders, but someone who has learned to deal with the challenges of the moment.
So oft have I invoked thee for my Muse
And found such fair assistance in my verse
As every alien pen hath got my use
And under thee their poesy disperse.
Thine eyes that taught the dumb on high to sing
And heavy ignorance aloft to fly
Have added feathers to the learned's wing
And given grace a double majesty.
Yet be most proud of that which I compile,
Whose influence is thine and born of thee:
In others' works thou dost but mend the style,
And arts with thy sweet graces graced be;
But thou art all my art and dost advance
As high as learning my rude ignorance.
CREATING YOUR EXPERIENCE
While there is much debate in both philosophy and psychology as
to whether or not (and to what extent) we create our reality,
there is little question that we are creating our experience of
reality with the way we represent things in our mind.
In this tip, I would like to share one of my favorite tools for
exploring how you construct your experience of reality on the
inside of your mind, and how you can usefully change your
experience for the better...
On the NLP practitioner training we just completed in London,
Dr. Richard Bandler (see the 'Want to Learn More?' section at
the end of this tip to learn more) told the story of a
schizophrenic woman he worked with who couldn't tell the
difference between a real and an imagined experience. She was
convinced she had murdered her parents, although it was her
parents who drove her down to see him.
As an experiment, he asked her to imagine herself flying down to
see him, and then a few minutes later he asked her how she got
there. "I flew", she replied, surprised he would ask her such
an obvious question.
Dr. Bandler then asked the same question of the psychiatrist who
had recommended the parents to bring the girl to him. The
psychiatrist said that he 'just knew' they had driven, but when
pushed realized that the images in his mind of the family
driving were realistic and lifelike whereas the images in his
mind of the family flying were framed in a black border, like a
painting hanging in a museum.
Under hypnosis, Bandler instructed the girl's unconscious mind
to sort through her memories, placing black borders around the
ones which were just mental fantasies and only allowing those
things which had really happened to appear unbounded. Within
hours, her life had changed forever.
So how do *you* know what you know?
Think about a vacation you took which you enjoyed. Notice how
you know that you're thinking about the vacation - are you
mostly aware of the images, sounds or feelings?
Next, think about somewhere you would like to go on vacation at
some point in the future. Again, become aware of the images,
sounds and feelings associated with that 'future vacation'.
Now, here's the question:
How do you know which is which? In other words, how do you know
which one is real and which one is only imagined?
For most people, their second answer (after the accurate but not
terribly useful "I just do!") will be to point to two separate
mental images. One is of the thing which really happened,
which for most people is somewhere to the left of center; the
other is of the vacation they haven't actually taken which is
often somewhere to the right of center.
Of course, for you the difference may be that one is a movie and
one is a still image, one is color and the other black and
white, or the main differences may be to do with distance, size
or clarity of the images. You might find yourself seeing
through your own eyes in one image but seeing yourself (or
someone who looks and sounds remarkably like you) inside the
other image.
In addition, you might notice that you have different sounds
associated with the two sets of images, or different internal
dialogue ("Internal dialogue? What does he mean internal
dialogue? Like talking to yourself? I don't talk to myself.
He's nuts!" :-)
Finally, you will very probably notice different feelings
associated with the two. Each one of these details, known in
NLP as 'submodalities', is an important part of your mind's
coding of reality.
And as with any code, once you decipher it, you can begin to use
it to your own advantage...
--------------------
Today's Experiment:
--------------------
1. Think about a food you love and a food you hate. Notice the
difference between *how* you know which is which. It is often
useful to write down your answers to the questions below for
each of the two foods:
Are the images:
*Moving or Still?
*Color or Black and White?
*Near or Far?
*Left or right?
*Up or down?
*Life size, larger or smaller?
Do you see yourself in the picture or see through your own eyes?
Are the sounds:
*Loud or soft?
*Fast or slow?
*Left, right, or stereo?
*Constant or intermittent?
If there is internal dialogue, what is it saying?
*Is it one voice or more than one?
*Is it your voice or someone else's?
Where in the body do you feel the feelings?
Are you breathing faster or slower than normal? Deep or
shallow?
Are the feelings:
*Warm or cool?
*Intense or mild?
*Constant or intermittent
If you actually take the time to go through each of these
distinctions in detail, you will find yourself becoming more and
more aware of the images, sounds and feelings you are using to
make one food more attractive to you than the other.
2. Think about the food you love and begin to play with each of
the submodalities in turn. Notice which ones make the food
seem even more desirable and which ones make it seem less
desirable.
For example, many people find that bringing the image closer and
making them bigger and brighter makes the food seem more
attractive and the feelings more intense; pushing the images
further away and making them smaller and dimmer makes them seem
less attractive and the feelings less intense.
How positive an experience can you create for yourself of this
food that you love?
3. Now, if it is safe for you to do so (i.e. no allergies or
other physical reasons not to do this), swap the submodalities
so that you begin thinking about the food you used to hate in
the inner details of the food you love.
If you have done this correctly, you will have created a new
experience of that food for yourself. You may even find
yourself more and more attracted to that food (though of course,
you don't HAVE to eat it... :-)
4. Finally, take a few minutes to brainstorm ways you could use
your ability to change your internal pictures, sounds and
feelings to create a richer, more positive experience of being
alive!
With love,
michael
Profound and tranquil, free from complexity,
Uncompounded luminous clarity,
Beyond the mind of conceptual ideas;
This is the depth of the mind of the buddhas.
Nor anything that needs to be added.
It is merely the immaculate,
ACCEPT CHANGE WITH A SMILE
Sooner or later you'll experience a crisis in your life,
and how you meet it will determine your future happiness and success.
Since the beginning of time,
everyone has been called upon to meet such a crisis.
A closer look will show you that most "crisis situations"
are opportunities to either advance or stay where you are.
In fact, most changes in your life will take place
out of either "inspiration" or "desperation."
Whatever comes your way,
give it meaning and transform it into something of value.
Your personal growth is the process of responding positively to change.
Hymn to Isis
For I am the first and the last
I am the venerated and the despised
I am the prostitute and the saint
I am the wife and the virgin
I am the mother and the daughter
I am the arms of my mother
I am barren and my children are many
I am the married woman who gives birth
and she who never procreated
I am the consolation for the pain of birth
I am the wife and the husband
And it was my man who created me
I am the sister of my husband
And he is my rejected son
Always respect me
For I am the shameful and the magnificent one
Why the Buddha waits at Heaven's Gate
By Osho
Whatsoever you do, do it with deep alertness; then even small things
become sacred. Then cooking or cleaning become sacred; they become
worship. It is not a question of what you are doing, the question is
how you are doing it. You can clean the floor like a robot, a
mechanical thing; you have to clean it, so you clean it--then you
miss something beautiful. Cleaning the floor could have been a great
experience--you missed it; the floor is cleaned but something that
could have happened within you has not happened. If you were aware,
alert, not only the floor but you yourself would have felt a deep
cleansing.
Clean the floor full of awareness, luminous with awareness. Work or
sit or walk, but one thing has to be a continuous thread: make more
and more moments of your life luminous with awareness. Let the candle
of awareness burn in each moment, in each act. The cumulative effect
is what enlightenment is. The cumulative effect, all the moments
together, all small candles together, become a great source of light.
The story is that when Gautam Buddha died he reached the doors of
paradise. Those doors rarely open, only once in a while, in
centuries--visitors don't come every day, and whenever someone comes
to those doors the whole of paradise celebrates it. One more
conscious-ness has attained to flowering, and existence is far richer
than it has ever been before.
The doors were opened, and the other enlightened people who had
entered into paradise before... because in Buddhism there is no God,
but these enlightened people are godly--so there are as many gods as
enlightened people. They had all gathered at the door with music,
with song and with dance. They wanted to welcome Gautam Buddha but to
their amazement he was standing with his back to the gate. His face
was still looking toward the far shore that he had left behind.
They said, "This is strange. For whom are you waiting?"
He's reported to have said, "My heart is not so small. I'm waiting
for all those I have left behind who are struggling on the way. They
are my fellow travelers. You can keep the doors closed--you will have
to wait a little for the celebration of my entering into paradise,
because I have decided to enter this door as the last man. When
everybody else has become enlightened and entered the door, when
there is nobody left outside, then my time will have come to enter."
This story is a story--it cannot be an actual fact. It is not within
your hands; once you have become enlightened you will have to enter
into the universal source of life. It is not a question of your
choice or decision. But the story is that he is still trying, even
after his death. This story arose out of what he had said he was
going to do on the last day before his death--that he would wait for
you all.
He cannot wait here any longer, he has already waited over his time.
He should have been gone by now but, seeing your misery and your
suffering, he somehow kept himself together. But it has become more
and more impossible. He will have to leave you--reluctantly--but he
will wait for you on the other shore; he will not enter paradise, it
is a promise: "So don't forget that for you, I will be standing there
for centuries. But hurry, don't let me down, and don't let me wait
too long." ~Osho
the heart-essence of all the buddhas and all spiritual paths, and the
Hard work
“Work should be in order to live. We don’t live in order to work. That shift in awareness is necessary.”
-- Matthew Fox
What are your beliefs around work? Do you believe it’s necessary to work hard to earn a living? No pain, no gain? Do you believe women’s work is never done? That play is a waste of time?
While there are merits to the work ethic, over-work takes a serious toll on the quality of our lives. Our ability to contribute to life requires us to have a sense of balance, joy, playfulness, time to stop and smell the flowers.
“Learning to let go of the ways we inadvertently and unconsciously contribute to our own pain is the key to finding radiant physical and emotional health.”
-- Ingrid Bacci
“To do great work a man must be very idle as well as very industrious.”
-– Samuel Butler
“The true object of all human life is play.”
-- G.K. Chesterton
Child
The Warrior of the Light behaves like a child.
people are shocked; they have forgotten that a child needs to have fun and to play, to be slightly irreverent and to ask awkward, childish questions, to talk nonsense that  not even he believes in.
And they say, horrified: "So this is the spiritual path, is it? He's so immature!"
The Warrior feels proud of such comments. And he remains in touch with God through his innocence and his joy, without ever losing sight of his mission.
Attachment and loss
A mighty general was holding and admiring one of his antique cups.
Suddenly, the cup slipped from his hands and fell. Although in shock, he
quickly caught the cup before it hit the ground. Somewhat breathless from
this incident, he thought to himself "I have led tens of thousands of
soldiers into battle without fear. Why did a cup cause me to become so
frightened?" He then realized that it was his mind of attachment and loss
that caused him such fright. With this comprehension, he casually threw
the cup to the ground and let it break.
How do you work with anger?
"Character isn’t inherited. One builds it daily by the way one thinks and acts, thought by thought, action by action. If one lets fear or hate or anger take possession of the mind, they become self-forged chains."
-- Helen Douglas
How do you feel about anger, in yourself and in others? How do you deal with it?
Anger is powerful energy. If we are afraid of this energy, we may attempt to deny or hide it. And when we lack control of the energy of anger, we impose it on other people or things.
The ways we react to anger usually reflect how we experienced anger as children and how our own anger when we were young was handled by the adults at the time.
In reality, anger, like any emotion, brings us information. It tells us how we feel about what is being experienced. If we receive anger’s message and learn more about ourselves, the energy will pass.
"Too often we underestimate how quickly our feelings are going to change because we underestimate our ability to change them."
-- David Gilbert
Warrior of the Light meets Evil
Sometimes Evil pursues the Warrior of the Light, and when it does he calmly invites it into his tent.
He asks Evil: "Do you want to hurt me or use me to hurt others?"
Evil pretends not to hear. It says that it knows of the darkness in the Warrior's soul. It touches wounds that have yet not healed and calls for vengeance. It mentions certaint tricks and subtle poisons that will help him to destroy his enemies.
The Warrior of the Light listens. If conversations lags,  he encourages Evil to continue talking by asking all about its various plans.
When he has heard everything, he gets up and leaves. Evil feels so weary and empty after all this talk that it does not have the strength to follow him.
Antoine De Saint-Exupèry
"The Little Prince"
Discovering The Secret of Detachment
So there you are... sitting with your legs crossed, visualizing your
new dream house, soul mate, lottery jackpot or high paying job you
want to manifest. You want it soooo much that you can almost taste
it. You have been visualizing, feeling and working on manifesting it
for quite a while now, yet for some reason nothing is happening.
Should you just throw in the towel and give up? What is stopping you
from manifesting what you so deeply desire?
Attachment could be the culprit that is blocking your manifesting
vibration. How does one know when they are experiencing attachment?
You might be suffering from an attachment when you feel that you MUST
have or experience something in order for you to feel O.K. When you
get attached to something, your entire being tenses up, and you start
to become anxious about manifesting your outcome. This anxiousness
and fear in turn lowers your manifesting vibration, and keeps you
from receiving what you deeply desire.
The feeling of attachment is very sneaky and can creep up on you when
you least expect it. In fact, you may be caught in a repetitive cycle
of being attached to someone or something without even being aware of
it. The easiest way to become aware of an attachment is to notice if
you have a contracting emotional charge around a specific outcome. Do
you feel worried or anxious when you think about manifesting (or not
manifesting) something in your life? Do you HAVE TO have this one
thing to be happy or truly free? If you feel any tight, tense or
heavy feelings when you think about having (or not having) your
desire, you are most certainly playing the game of attachment.
Every human being at some time has experienced some form of
attachment. Many years ago, I (Margot) used to get attached to having
certain people become my clients because I knew deep in my heart that
I could help them manifest a life that they loved. I soon discovered
that the more attached I became to working with them, the less likely
they would choose to become my client. This occurred because people
were subconsciously feeling my inner tension around them becoming one
of my clients, causing them to feel uncomfortable around me. After a
while I learned how to be truly 100% O.K. if they decided to work
with me or not. When I discovered how to be at peace with myself no
matter what my potential clients decided, I started to easily
magnetize many people who wanted to work with me!
The secret to manifesting is gently holding the intention of creating
whatever you want to manifest, and yet at the same time being
completely and utterly at peace with the idea of never manifesting
your desired outcome. In other words, it is the fine art of being
detached. When you are at peace with yourself AND detached from your
desired outcome, you can relax and allow the Universe to completely
and utterly support your manifestation. Detachment also enables you
to be fully open and receptive, which in turn attracts new
opportunities and people to you. Each time you are honestly detached
from having your desire manifest, it will materialize for you much
faster and far easier.
Of course, truly letting go of a deep desire is a tricky thing to do.
Using detachment as a techqnique for manifesting what you want does
not automatically guarantee that you will create the outcome you
desire. You cannot pretend to be detached while secretly hoping you
will manifest a certain outcome underneath the surface. Your mind can
pretend anything, yet your body cannot lie to the Universe. If you
are using the technique of being detached as a strategy for getting
what you want, then somewhere inside you are still attached to having
a particular outcome.
The magic of letting go of an attachment only occurs when you truly
find this joy, freedom and love for who and what you already are.
Then you can truly let go in your heart of hearts and no longer care
about the outcome. Then, the perfect outcome will always manifest
into your life. This allows the Universe to create the most
beneficial situation for your soul's evolution, and gives the
Universe more of an opportunity to send you something that is even
better than what you originally asked for.
experiencing true joy, freedom, and the art of detachment with our 90
Remind yourself of your over-arching intention for abundance.
Deepen or change it, if appropriate.
ABOUT BEING/INTENDING AFFIRMATIONS and ABUNDANCE
The affirmations this week open you to understand yourself
and help you to become more fully who you are while you
explore the deeper meaning of abundance and become at peace
with living in abundance. Abundance, as I am using the word
in this process, is spiritual abundance rather than opulence
or excess; abundance is the source and substance from which
things are manifested rather than money or other
manifestations themselves; abundance already exists in
infinite supply rather than a finite thing that is depleted
after it is used. When you focus on "things," you tend to
try to manipulate them; when you focus on the Spirit of
abundance, you become more satisfied with your experiences
in which those "things" that you need and desire come to
you. Abundance is.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
During this week, you may find it helpful to write a clear
definition of abundance for yourself. As you write it, if
you find that you are using physical things to describe
abundance, you are not defining abundance. Start again.
Abundance is NOT big houses and fancy cars and money and
jewels. Indeed, when you have money you have a right to
spend it however you wish. But having money is just having
money. Abundance is a spiritual energy FROM WHICH all
things are manifest INCLUDING big houses, money, etc., if
you choose. But do not limit your definition of abundance
to things. Open to a deeper definition as you allow the
meaning to emerge during this week.
ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week
to represent being and intending for Abundance, it would be
the affirmation for September 16: "I deepen my awareness of
the consciousness of abundance, from which my generous
actions spring." I consider this captures the essence of
this week's affirmations, perhaps even the whole month's
affirmations. It is your human consciousness that you want
to change, to uplift. You will do this differently from
others, and in your own time, yet the essence of the human
journey is to lift upward in consciousness. When you are
able to resonate with the consciousness of abundance, you
know, without doubt or regret or fear, that all your needs
are met.
Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus
on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or
some combination. You will receive each of these
affirmations on the appropriate days with additional
information and suggestions. Make your process work for
you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

September 15:
I know that true abundance leads to the highest good for all.

September 16:
I deepen my awareness of the consciousness of abundance,
from which my generous actions spring.

September 17:
High intention operates in the midst of abundance.
Abundance operates in the midst of high intention.

September 18:
My mission is to bring the consciousness of abundance to my
world.

September 19:
I remember abundance. I remember who I Am. I am grateful.

September 20:
I understand the meaning of abundance. I no longer confuse
abundance with money. I appreciate both.

September 21:
Abundance and joy enhance all my thoughts and feelings.

Be open to change

“Balance is a dynamic process; it changes with the days, the seasons, the years.”

-- Sherrill Sellman

How rigid are your routines? Do you exercise for 30 minutes, three times each week no matter how you feel?

Routines and structure can provide a valuable framework to bring discipline to our lives. At the same time, we are always changing and it’s wise to be sensitive to our physical, emotional and mental states so we can ensure that our activities truly meet our needs. We need to be willing to change our patterns when our practices no longer serve us.

“Only in growth, reform, and change, paradoxically enough, is true security to be found.”

-- Anne Morrow Lindbergh

“The smallest change in perspective can transform a life. What tiny attitude adjustment might turn your world around?”

-- Oprah

"Last Request"

Heart lock

Slow down, Lie down,
Remember it's just you and me.
Don't sell out, bow out,
Remember how this used to be.

I just want you closer,
Is that alright?
Baby let's get closer tonight

Grant my last request,
And just let me hold you.
Don't shrug your shoulders,
Lay down beside me.
Sure I can accept that we're going nowhere,
But one last time just go there,
Lay down beside me

Oh, I've found, that I'm bound
To wander down that one way road.
And I realise all about your lies
But I'm no wiser than the fool I was before.

I just want you closer,
Is that alright?
Baby let's get closer tonight

Oh, baby, baby, baby,
Tell me how can, how can this be wrong?

Yeah, lay down beside me.

One last time let's go there,
Lay down beside me

Whatcha Gonna Do

Lien
Now that you know
How I feel about you
Now that you know it's really real

Can't wait forever for you to be my man
Maybe you'll never understand
How I feel

Whatcha gonna do
Who's fooling who

We spend a long time
Getting to know each other
It this the wrong time for us

Can't wait forever for you to be my man
Tell me what's missing
I don't understand, is this the end

Whatcha gonna do
Who's fooling who

Sleepwalking

You see them on the corner in the morning
Barely seem to be awake
Praying that they won't be late
You know they're in the office when you're calling
Head inside a magazine
Wishing they could live their dream

Sleepwalking through your destiny
Dream talking of how it used to be
The future's just a memory
But it's all you got
Can't stop the clock
The wall revolves and you can't get out

One by one the dreams are gone
Today you're the lonely one
Free from all you've wished yourself
Thought you'd left you on the shelf.
How could this be history?
When the future seemed to be
Brighter than the stars above
Full of hope and full of love.

Walking through the door with the TV on
Children running round your feet
Fast forward to you're asleep
And every days the same and you don't know why
You promise that you'll never be
Everything that you now see

Sleepwalking walking through your destiny
Dream talking of how it used to be
But it's all you got
Can't stop the clock
The wall revolves and you can't get out

One by one the dreams are gone
Today you're the lonely one
Free from all you've wished yourself
Thought you'd left you on the shelf.
How could this be history?
When the future seemed to be
Brighter than the stars above
Full of hope and full of love.

So follow your dreams
No matter how extreme
Really live your life (yeh)
Cos your life is in your hands
Don't take no other plans
You can do it if you just believe you can.

Sonnet # LXXVI.

Why is my verse so barren of new pride,
So far from variation or quick change?
Why with the time do I not glance aside
To new-found methods and to compounds strange?
Why write I still all one, ever the same,
And keep invention in a noted weed,
That every word doth almost tell my name,
Showing their birth and where they did proceed?
O, know, sweet love, I always write of you,
And you and love are still my argument;
So all my best is dressing old words new,
Spending again what is already spent:
For as the sun is daily new and old,
So is my love still telling what is told.

A three-year old knows

Baiju asked the monk Niaoke "How should people cultivate in their daily
life to be in accordance with the Way?" Niaoke replied "Do not do any bad
deeds. As for good deeds, pursue all of them and do not turn your back on
any of them." Baiju was puzzled and said "but this is something even a
three year old child already knows". Niaoke replied "A three year old
child knows, but a hundred year old person may not be able to do it".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I accept abundance in all aspects of my life. I shift my
attention from visible means of support to invisible means
of support.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
Perhaps you say "Oh, yes, of course, I accept abundance (or
whatever)" and then the moment it shows up, you refuse,
resist, or miss it. You may not intend to, but your actions
or words or feelings are such that you cannot connect with
the manifestation of your heart's desires. It is easy to
have an idea in your head, for example, the idea to be free
or to love unconditionally or to live in abundance, yet be
challenged when trying to apply the idea to your everyday
lives.

In this society, there tends to be an over-emphasis on the
visible and under-emphasis on the invisible. If you believe
too much in the form, in the proof, in the facts, in history,
in time, when true abundance shows up, you may miss it
because it looks different from what you expected. All
manifestations in the visible world are created from the
invisible. When you stop trying to manipulate the visible
and trust the Infinite Invisible Source, everything in the
visible changes! The visible changes because your
consciousness changes, not because of tinkering with the
visible.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Today's affirmation reminds you to trust the invisible means
of support because that is the source of abundance. What
does it mean to you to trust the invisible means of support?
After considering your response to this question in a
general way, consider it also in a more specific way. That
is, get a feeling about trusting the invisible means of
support and then identify a specific situation in your life
in which you could use more awareness of the support from
Spirit, more awareness of abundance. Accept abundance into
that aspect of your life and then trust it when it shows up!

Celebrate differences

“Souls don’t have races or sexes or religions. They are beyond artificial divisions.”

-- Brian Weiss

Intolerance of differences always exists in people who don’t know who they are, people who don’t have a strong sense of their own authentic self, the soul within.

Intolerance is rooted in fear.

The basis for having a strong sense of self-esteem is to replace our unconscious idea of basic unworthiness with a conscious knowing of our fundamental inherent goodness. As Matthew Fox argues in Original Blessing, the notion of ‘original sin’ must be replaced with the truth of ‘original blessing.’

Being in touch with our essential goodness, we can see the essential goodness in others as well.

“Beliefs separate. Loving thoughts unite.”

-- Paul Ferrini

Stories about arrogance

The arrogance of power

     The master and his disciple were talking at a street corner when an old woman came up to them:
     "Get away from my window!" shouted the old lady. "You are disturbing the customers". The master apologized and crossed over to the other sidewalk.
      They went on talking until an officer came up to them and said: "We need you to move away from this sidewalk. The count will be passing by here in a few moments".
     "Let him use the other side of the street", answered the master, without moving. Then he turned to his disciple and told him: "Don’t forget: never be arrogant to the humble. And never be humble to the arrogant."

The arrogance of sanctity

     The Zen monk spent ten years meditating in his cave, trying to find out the path to the Truth. While he was praying one afternoon, a monkey came up to him. The monk tried to concentrate, but the monkey drew closer and seized the monk’s sandal.
     “Damned monkey!” said the hermit. “Why have you come to disturb my prayers?”
     “I’m hungry,” said the monkey.
     “Go away! You are disturbing my communicating with God!”
     “How can you talk to God if you cannot manage to communicate with humble creatures like me?” said the monkey.
      And the monk apologized, feeling ashamed.

The arrogance of force

     The village was threatened by a tribe of barbarians. The inhabitants were abandoning their houses and fleeing to a safer place. At the end of a year they had all left – except a group of Jesuits.
      The army of barbarians entered the city without any resistance and held a great feast to commemorate the victory. In the middle of the dinner a priest appeared.
     “You came in here and drove out peace. I beg you to leave at once.”
     "Why haven’t you fled yet?" shouted the chief of the barbarians. "Don’t you see that I can run you through with my sword without blinking an eye?"
     The priest answered calmly:
     "Don’t you see that I can be run through by a sword without blinking an eye?"
     Surprised by such serenity before death, the chief of the barbarians and his tribe abandoned the place the next day.

The arrogance of envy

     In the Syrian desert, Satan told his disciples: "Human beings are always more concerned about wishing evil on others than doing good to themselves".
      And to demonstrate what he was saying, he decided to test two men who were resting nearby.
     "I have come to make your wishes come true", he said to one of them. "Whatever you want will be given to you. Your friend will receive the same thing – except double".
      The man remained in silence for a long while, and then he finally said: "My friend is content because he will have double, no matter what my wish is. But I have prepared a trap for him: my wish is that you make me blind in one eye".

Angel

rosepetals on floor
Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always one reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there

so tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
and the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lie
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

"You Give Me Something"

You only stay with me in the morning
You only hold me when I sleep
I was meant to tread the water
But now I've gotten in too deep

For every piece of me that wants you
Another piece backs away

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something
Because someday I might know my heart

You only waited up for hours
Just to spend a little time alone with me
And I can say I've never bought you flowers
I can't work out what they mean

I never thought that I'd love someone
That was someone else's dream

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something
Because someday I might call you from my heart

But it might be a second too late
And the words that I could never say
Are gonna come out anyway

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something
Because someday I might know my heart

Know my heart, know my heart, know my heart

What is the sea?

A small fish asked a great fish "I often hear others speak of the sea.
But what exactly is it?" The great fish replied "Your environment is the
sea. The sea is inside of you, and it is outside of you. You live in the
sea, and belong to the sea. The sea surrounds you, just like your body."

Build the awareness habit

“It is difficult to see the picture when you are inside of the frame.”

-- Author Unknown

Start building the awareness habit: STOP and PAY ATTENTION. Set an intention to become aware of how you automatically react to different things in your life.

For example, how do you react to the alarm clock, the shower, traffic, work colleagues and situations, your partner or children? How do you react to anger or fear in someone else? How do you react to your own anger or fear? Become a witness to your own life. Pay attention to how you do things.

“What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself.”

-- Abraham H. Maslow

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Abundance, you are my friend. I have said goodbye to lack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
When you have said goodbye to someone or something, it might
come back to say "hello" again. This can be a pleasant
experience or not. So, say "goodbye" to Lack for good (get
it?). You do not lift in consciousness by being brutal to
that which you formerly revered or believed in, so be gentle
with Lack and with yourself as you say goodbye. Open a space
created by Lack's absence so that Abundance can show up in
your life as a presence, as a constant friend. You must be
vigilant, though, because Lack has been familiar and
ubiquitous. When you begin to experience Abundance you must
be careful not to worry or doubt or wonder if it is "too
good to be true" because these are engraved invitations for
lack to pay a visit.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
If Lack creeps back into your consciousness, deal with it in
the most effective and efficient way you know how. Or even
in an ineffective or inefficient way. Remember, you really
do not have to do this well, just do it! Explain the rules
to Lack. For example, you might say, "Go away, Lack, I have
finished my relationship with you." Or you may say, "OK,
you may stay, but just for two minutes. I have a date with
Abundance." Here are some indicators of ways you might be
entertaining Lack.

You invite Lack to visit when you
(1) Focus on how difficult a situation is or appears to be,
(2) Argue for limitations,
(3) Feel low self esteem,
(4) Criticize yourself; criticize others,
(5) Compare yourself to others and judge that one is better
than the other,
(6) Give your attention to what you do not want.
So, are you ready to say goodbye to lack for good?

Forget-me-not
Thank you for blue skies
When my head is down you remind me to look up
And thank you for all those times
You believed when others couldn't see
Oh without you where would would I be?

I wake up every morning to another crazy day I have to face
And when I'm losing my direction your the one who points me in the right way
You always know when I'm about to fall
Its like you're standing there when I hit that wall
Because of you my eyes are open
And instead of always hoping I have faith today

So thank you for blue skies
When my head is down you remind me to look up
And thank you for all those times
You believed when others couldn't see
Oh without you where would I be?
Oh thank you
Thank you
Thank you

Clear Requests...

"Every moment of your life is infinitely creative
and the Universe is endlessly bountiful.
Just put forth a clear enough request and
everything your heart desires must come to you."
~Shakti Gawain,  Creative Visualization

Sonnet # LXXV.

So are you to my thoughts as food to life,
Or as sweet-season'd showers are to the ground;
And for the peace of you I hold such strife
As 'twixt a miser and his wealth is found;
Now proud as an enjoyer and anon
Doubting the filching age will steal his treasure,
Now counting best to be with you alone,
Then better'd that the world may see my pleasure;
Sometime all full with feasting on your sight
And by and by clean starved for a look;
Possessing or pursuing no delight,
Save what is had or must from you be took.
Thus do I pine and surfeit day by day,
Or gluttoning on all, or all away.

Short Spiritual Stories

Small waves and large waves
A small wave in the ocean laments "Poor me. Other waves are so great in
size, yet I am so small. Other waves can travel so fast, yet I am so
inferior." Another wave replies "This is because you do not know your
true being, so you think you are suffering. A wave is your temporary
phenomenon. In actual fact, you are water. When you realize that your
true being is water, you will no longer be troubled by your physical
form, and therefore will no longer suffer."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear God, allow me to embrace and experience abundance in
every aspect of my life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
"Every aspect" of your life means just that: every aspect.
Abundance does not exist only in isolated places, although,
of course, you start wherever you have conscious awareness.
Abundance exists in all parts and places and moments and
experiences. Lack of abundance also exists. Decide which
you choose, abundance or lack. Abundance is; you do not
create it. Rather, you create from the consciousness of
abundance. Lack is the absence of abundance, or more
precisely, lack of the awareness of abundance. In today's
simple affirmation-prayer, acknowledge your readiness to
receive experiences that are filled with the awareness of
abundance because you have given in the consciousness of
abundance. Return to the Truth of your own divine nature,
embrace yourself, and open to the Infinite Intelligence.
Abundance is everywhere.

ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
If you feel that abundance exists in only isolated places,
turn your attention now to those places. Feel the energy of
abundance. Ask for a sensation or feeling or word or sound
or taste or smell that tells you without a doubt that THIS
is the energy of abundance. You may know instantly, or you
may choose to open to this information all through the day
and finish this exercise tonight or tomorrow. When you
touch/know the energy of abundance, move your attention to
other areas in your life where abundance does not seem so
apparent or feel so strong, or anywhere you experience lack
or low self-esteem. Remind yourself of the energy of
abundance that you tasted or touched or heard or saw just
seconds earlier. Remind yourself of the abundance vibration
so that you can access it anytime, anywhere, under any
circumstances.

LIVE AND ACT IN A SPIRIT OF LOVE

joy

The place to begin to improve the world
is in your own heart, head and hands.
To get along with others,
love them without forcing your love upon them.

Imposing your beliefs on people will not bring you peace.
Have concern for others, respect their rights and freedoms,
and let them be themselves.
Do this and you will enjoy peace.

Having consideration for others is the basis of a good life.
Most people are not against you,
they are merely for themselves.
Let differing ideas clash, but not those of the heart.

Peace comes to you when you live and act in a spirit of love.

Open Arms

Hope
Written by S. Perry and J. Cain

Lying beside you here in the dark
Feeling your heart beat with mine, mine

Softly you whisper
You're so sincere
How could our love be so blind

We sailed on together
We drifted apart
And here you are by my side

So now I come to you with open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am with open arms
Hoping you'll see what your love means to me
Open arms

Living without you
Living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
Wanting you near
How much I wanted you home

But now that you've come back
Turned night into day
I need you to stay

So now I come to you with open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am with open arms
Hoping you'll see what your love means to me
Open arms

Together

love
can you give as much as you can take
can you love as much as you can hate
the flame we share is one as you're aware
the needs we burn is the child we never had
we split our lives to find our mind again
we do divorce so our first fight's regained
together will we remain to say

together we will live, this century got so much more to give
together we will leave, giving to the world a better place to grow

feelings we keep away from decay
feelings we send each other everyday
does your silence speak the word I hear
does your reserve mean what I fear
the forever we are is the forever we murdered
stay right here, stand by me

together we will live, this century got so much more to give
together we will leave, giving to the world a better place to grow
together we will live, this century got so much more to give
together we will leave, giving to the world a better place to grow

together will we remain to say
together will we survive to see

"You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the
courage -- pleasantly, smilingly, nonapologetically -- to say 'no' to
other things. And the way to do that is by having a bigger 'yes' burning
inside. The enemy of the 'best' is often the 'good.'"

--Stephen Covey

Leonardo da Vinci

"I roamed the countryside searching for the answers to things I did not understand. Why shells existed on the top of mountains along with the imprints of coral and plant and seaweed usually found in the sea. Why the thunder lasts a longer time than that which causes it and why immediately on its creation the lightning becomes visible to the eye while thunder requires time to travel. How the various circles of water form around the spot that has been struck by a stone and why a bird sustains itself in the air. These questions and other strange phenomena engaged my thought throughout my life."

Leonardo da Vinci

BEING SUCCESSFUL IS A CHOICE YOU MAKE

You alone have the responsibility to shape your life.
Once you understand this,
nothing and no one can deny you success.
There's no one to stop you but yourself.

More powerful than all the success slogans ever written
is the realization that everyone has but one boss.
That boss is you.

Your life will always be to a large extent what you make of it.
No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but you.

Success or failure?
It's always your choice.

Inner critics

“We tell ourselves so many lies and half-truths ... We listen and are duly impressed by these inner voices that turn into unseen judges that nag at us. We give each of these judges a seat of honor in our minds, all the while hating their guts and their never-ending supply of judgements ... We give the judges permission to accompany us on each journey of life, never daring to realize that we can park them, at least momentarily.”

-- Eloise Ristad

“The Inner Critic makes each of us a child. As we become the child in our relationships, we lose our sense of self. We are no longer self-contained, self-respecting adults. We look to others for validation. Our self-worth is based upon their opinion of us. Thus, everyone around us becomes a mother or a father whose support and approval is desperately needed to protect us from the constant criticism of the Inner Critic.”

-- Hal and Sidra Stone

Crossing the river

The monk Tanzan and a younger monk were travelling, when they saw a
beautiful young women unable to cross the river. Tanzan immediately
offered and helped the woman by carrying her across the river. Tanzan and
the young monk continued on their journey, but after some time the young
monk could not stand it anymore. He said "as monks we must abstain from
desires of the flesh, yet you were so physically close to that young
woman. Why did you do that?" Tanzan replied, "I already put her down at
the river. Are you still carrying her?"

Make this a watchful day!

I allow the energy of abundance to flow through me. I
recognize that giving and receiving are the same.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
When you open, you allow. Today, allow the energy of
abundance to come into your life. The recognition that
giving and receiving are the same is a powerful spiritual
concept. Those who resonate with "getting" and "taking," or
who only give grudgingly, or who believe that they have
given too much with nothing in return, might perceive the
sameness of giving and receiving as a strange idea. This
affirmation honors that energy flows freely in many
different directions in the absence of resistance. You must
give with an open heart as surely as you must receive with
an open heart.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Identify something you will give today and something you
will receive today. While the "something" you give need
not be precisely the same as the "something" you receive,
you will find this exercise more helpful if both
"somethings" are either tangible or intangible, pleasant or
unpleasant, desired or undesired, etc. When each of the two
"somethings" is given and received, be a witness to your own
process: How did/do you feel? How would you describe your
consciousness? How aware are you of the energy of abundance
and the energy of the "something"? What are the differences
and similarities of the two experiences? As you witness your
process, try not to be critical of yourself or the process.
Just notice. Open to the experience.
What do you know of Love except the name?
Love has a hundred forms of pride and disdain,
    The Universe Loves You
    smiling sun
    You are inherently lovable and have always been loved by the
    Universe. In fact, you are love itself. The problem is that most of
    us live under a false illusion that we just do something, or be
    somebody special to earn love and acceptance. We spend our lives
    trying to get peoples' love and acceptance when love surrounds
    us and permeates every atom in this Universe. It's like we are fish
    in the ocean seeking, searching and thirsty for water. Once we just
    relax into this simple truth that love is here now, you feel loved by
    the Universe and know you are always taken care of. The great secret
    is relaxing into this knowingness completely.
    "I laugh when I hear that the fish in the water is thirsty." ~Kabir
    Sometimes you might be thinking 'But I can't feel truly loved
    by anyone, how can I feel loved by the Universe' If you
    don't feel the warmth and love from this divine Universe, then
    you are the one who is blocking out love. It is the armor around your
    heart that is protecting you from getting hurt again. So with these
    emotional shields it can be challenging to feel the loving energy
    that naturally surrounds us. The greatest thing is that the Universe
    will do everything to help you pull your walls down. It will create
    heart opening situations that will penetrate your shields and
    eventually cause them to melt completely. The key is to remain open
    and receptive to allowing this to happen.
    One of most amazing things about the Universe is that it is always a
    perfect
    flawless mirror for what is happening inside you. Meaning that
    whatever energy
    you send out is exactly what you will feel coming back to you. When
    you send out kindness and patience to others, you'll experience
    people treating you with more understanding, gentleness and patience.
    Now this flawless mirror can be a blessing or a curse, depending on
    what you are habitually focusing upon and
    vibrationally sending out. If you are in the habit of sending out
    fear, esperation, or those "poor me" victim feelings, then you are
    truly wasting your time and missing the greatest opportunity of your
    lifetime! This is to experience yourself as a truly divine lovable
    human being who is the source of love and is constantly FEELING loved
    by the Universe!
    "There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved." ~George
    Sand
    The good news is that even when you do send out negative vibrations,
    the Universe still loves and supports you. In these moments when your
    mind is clogged with negativity, you may just not be able to feel
    this gentle supporting love that is all around you. When you are
    focusing on fear or negativity, you are in essence wearing dark
    glasses that shield the rays of love and light from the Universe.
    However, you can choose at any moment to take off your glasses and
    see the greatest truth and essence of your being. That you are
    lovable, and the source of love! Every moment holds the opportunity
    for you to recognize the Divine loveable being that you are, perfect
    just as you are in every way.
    The following is an experience told by Margot: One day about 7 years
    ago, I
    walked into my neighborhood grocery store in a very bad mood. The day
    had been full of misadventures and mishap. Anyway, I had only one
    thing to buy and had to stand in line for a very long time. I kept
    thinking 'These people are all selfish. They haven't
    even offered to let me go ahead of them' As I approached the
    cash register I thought 'Boy, the cashiers who work here are
    not very nice. They didn't even smile at me' As I left
    the store, I thought, 'I don't really like this store.
    Everybody is just so shut down and unfriendly'
    "Love is like a mountain, hard to climb, but once you get to the top
    the view is beautiful." ~Daniel Monroe Tuttle
    A few days later, I returned to the same grocery store. This day,
    however, I walked into the store in a really positive uplifted mood.
    I thought, 'It's so great just to be alive' My
    experience in the store was radically different. While I still stood
    in line for a very long time, I decided to make friends with the
    people in line. I chatted back and forth with them, and thought to
    myself, 'Everybody is so friendly in this store' In
    fact, I even made a new friend that day standing in line, and we
    promptly did something together that very same day. As I arrived at
    the checkout counter, I was greeted by the same cashier. However,
    this time I saw the smile on her face, and heard the warmth in her
    greeting for I had taken of my dark glasses and could see the love
    around me. I have had many direct experiences of both feeling and not
    feeling loved by the Universe. It is very evident that my attitude
    directly impacts my ability to perceive and feel love and support.
    So remember that you can feel how much the entire Universe loves you
    by just shifting your energy and taking off any dark glasses you may
    be wearing. The more you open up to the natural love of the Universe,
    the more you see how the whole Universe is truly supporting you and
    sending you what you need to manifest your dreams.
    I receive goodness from the Universe. Abundance is
    everywhere.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    It is interesting to me how often people forget how good the
    goodness is, whether the goodness is visible or invisible.
    Goodness is everywhere; abundance is everywhere. Sometimes
    you have to lift up the dark stuff to notice the goodness
    and abundance. You might think of the dark stuff as a tarp
    (tarpaulin) or a blanket. With your mind's eye, lift up the
    tarp or blanket to reveal the wonder and beauty and abundance.
    The dark consciousness that has existed on the planet for a
    long time is just a tarp. Many have believed that the tarp
    is the truth or the totality because the tarp has done its
    job well by covering up the goodness. It is time for us to
    realize and accept abundance. Lift up the tarp. Lift up.

    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    Today, whenever you perceive something that appears to you
    as pain or confusion or discomfort of any kind, just think
    of it as a tarp. And more specifically, think of it as a
    tarp that has done its job well and is no longer needed.
    Consider if you lay a tarp over your furniture while you
    paint the ceiling. Do you continue to live with the tarp
    on your furniture after the painting is complete? Of course
    not. You lift it up, fold it, and store it for the next
    job. It is not helpful for you to get angry at the tarp
    because that just makes you feel heavier or more hopeless.
    Instead, just lift up the tarp. If you need help, ask those
    who know how to lift up this stuff. Better yet, give your
    attention to positive aspects that you wish to experience.
    Abundance is everywhere. Spirit is everywhere. The Divine
    is omnipresent. Joy is ubiquitous.

    Opening the heart

    Heart lock

    “Everything is made of light; everything is alive. The Great Mystery of life has little to do with intelligence. The universe is not an intellectual process. The intellect is helpful; but our hearts are the wiser part of ourselves.”

    -- Mellen-Thomas Benedict

    Heart is a word that refers to many different levels of our being. Essentially, it is the love aspect of soul, capable of making direct, intuitive contact. Soul love is not emotional; it is highly impersonal and intelligent, capable of grasping the essence of someone or something without any projection on our part.

    Appreciation significantly turns on the heart. Appreciation is not an emotion that arises spontaneously, but a soul quality we can choose. The more often we choose to be appreciative, the easier this choice becomes and the more frequently our heart opens to give and receive love.

    “If you open your heart, love opens your mind.”

    -- Charles John Quarto

    SEE THINGS AS YOU WANT THEM TO BE

    How can you make your dream come true, if you don't have one?
    Visualize your goals and your subconscious will begin to work
    toward making your mental pictures come true.

    You'll gradually grow into any condition you desire,
    provided you adjust your mental attitude to mirror
    the person who corresponds to those conditions.

    If you advance with confidence in the direction of your dreams,
    and begin to live the life you imagine,
    you'll meet with success beyond your wildest imagination.

    The only way to discover your limits of the possible
    is to go beyond them into the impossible.

    You're the one who can stretch your horizon.

    Sonnet # LXXIV.

    But be contented: when that fell arrest
    Without all bail shall carry me away,
    My life hath in this line some interest,
    Which for memorial still with thee shall stay.
    When thou reviewest this, thou dost review
    The very part was consecrate to thee:
    The earth can have but earth, which is his due;
    My spirit is thine, the better part of me:
    So then thou hast but lost the dregs of life,
    The prey of worms, my body being dead,
    The coward conquest of a wretch's knife,
    Too base of thee to be remembered.
    The worth of that is that which it contains,
    And that is this, and this with thee remains.

    Short Spiritual Stories about Limiting Activity

    When we practice zazen we limit our activity to the smallest extent. Just
    keeping the right posture and being concentrated on sitting is how we
    express the universal nature. Then we become Buddha, and we express
    Buddha nature. So instead of having some object of worship, we just
    concentrate on the activity which we do in each moment.

    When you bow, you should just bow; when you sit, you should just sit;
    when you eat, you should just eat.If you do this, the universal nature is
    there. In Japanese we call it ichigyo-zammai, or "one-act samadhi."
    Sammai (or samadhi) is "concentration." Ichigyo is "one practice."

    Shunryu Suzuki

    PREPARATION IS THE SECRET TO CONFIDENCE

    With practice you'll come to a point of competence.
    You'll find yourself accomplishing your goals gracefully and confidently.

    It's then that you'll do things that you never dreamed you could do.
    You'll discover powers you never knew existed.
    If you're prepared, you're able to feel confident.

    There can be no great courage
    when there is no confidence or assurance.
    Half the battle is in the conviction
    that you can accomplish what you undertake.

    Confidence doesn't come out of nowhere.
    It's the result of constant work and dedication.

    I open to allow abundance to operate in my life. All my
    needs are met, in time and on time.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    Your thoughts activate the creative force in the physical
    plane. You need energy, though, and the energy of abundance
    is available to operate these fleshy vehicles on this earth.
    You manifest from Spirit. You manifest from Spirit by
    aligning yourself with the divine and opening to allow the
    Universe to respond. I do not advocate manipulation or
    bargaining with God or taking from others. I advocate
    lifting your consciousness so that you are aware that you
    are manifesting from Spirit into the physical plane. These
    manifestations are fast, easy, joyous, and realized with
    integrity. You, who are here to bring the light into dark
    places, find that this is very hard to do if you feel
    hopelessly needy. When you feel needy, you absorb the light;
    when you feel your needs are met, you radiate the light.
    When you have unmet needs (and you always will), you can
    radiate the light by trusting yourself to receive the flow
    of the Universe in the only time that is: now.
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    At first, you may have difficulty accepting the truth of
    this affirmation. If so, here are two optional approaches
    (1) Affirm it anyway (let it be an affirmation of trust).
    Or (2) Affirm it and observe the feelings or thoughts or
    other reactions you experience to the affirmation. Then
    create an appropriate process or affirmation to deal with
    the reactions. For example, if you have a disgruntled
    reaction such as, "Yeah, sure, all my needs are met, I just
    can't have any wants," you might return to the September 1
    affirmation and affirm something like: "I give myself
    permission to release disgust (or anger or victim
    consciousness or resentment or hopelessness) from every
    level of my energy field, easily and effortlessly." Or you
    might simply give up to the angels any negative reactions to
    today's affirmation, knowing they will carry off the
    reactions joyously.
    Make this a positive week!
    Greetings on the 2nd week of September with the theme of
    Abundance. During this second week we focus on Receiving/
    Accepting Affirmations. Make this a positive week!
    DailyAffirm began Twelve Years Ago this Month!
    Read DailyAfirm on the Internet, with links to resources.
    You can also make comments at http://www.dailyaffirm.com
    ABOUT RECEIVING/ACCEPTING AFFIRMATIONS and ABUNDANCE
    To be able to RECEIVE abundance is perhaps the most
    important concept related to our theme of abundance. While
    I generally prefer to state what IS and often hesitate to
    give too much attention to what is NOT, this seems to be a
    time to explain the NOT-IT. Receiving abundance is NOT
    grabbing something, NOT deflecting compliments, NOT feeling
    guilty about having something that someone else does not
    have, NOT saying "oh, you shouldn't have," NOT a lucky guess
    / opportunity / break, NOT available only to those who are
    smart / rich / of a particular race or color / lucky / hard
    working, NOT having lots of money, NOT manipulating to get
    something. Phew! Lots of nots; lots of knots.
    Receiving abundance runs parallel to the ability to trust
    unconditionally that the Universe responds to all your needs.
    You must receive the response. In other words, the sentiment
    "I'll trust the Universe as long as that check shows up by
    September 15, otherwise, forget it!" does not qualify as
    unconditional trust. You must accept that you are in a
    process of receiving abundance and that it comes in many
    ways: through your own ingenuity, opening your eyes to the
    majesty of the earth, appreciation from friends and
    families, gifts, food that grows from the soil, creativity,
    synergy of ideas.
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    If you feel "hooked" on the belief that money and abundance
    are synonymous, I suggest that you work with a process of
    uplifting your gratitude to the true Source. Whenever
    something you desire comes into your life, thank BOTH the
    physical source and the Divine Source. One example: you
    receive your paycheck on Friday afternoon: Thank your job
    (or your boss or your skills) and then thank the Divine (or
    God or The One or the angels or Spirit). Another example:
    you see (your eyes receive) a beautiful oil painting: thank
    the artist (or the art gallery or the artist's inspiration)
    and then thank the Divine. Even though the Divine is First
    Cause (and is truly the One to be thanked first), this
    process trains you to shift from the physical form or
    appearance to the true Source. Also, the Divine does not
    need your appreciation: you are the one most fed when you
    feel or express appreciation.
    And if you do NOT feel hooked on the belief that money and
    abundance are synonymous, bravo. You still have an
    assignment (if you choose to accept it): Be a witness of
    any example that indicates a call for abundance. Notice I
    say "witness," NOT "judge" and NOT "reporter" and NOT
    "teacher." When you witness the call for abundance, send
    your thanks to the Source. Your gratitude need not have any
    content, just loving energy. Sprinkle thanksgiving and love
    wherever you place your attention, then see miracles
    manifest.
    ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
    If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week
    to represent receiving and accepting for Abundance, I would
    combine two affirmations: the one for September 13, "I
    accept abundance in all aspects of my life. I shift my
    attention from visible means of support to invisible means
    of support" and for September 10, "I allow the energy of
    abundance to flow through me. I recognize that giving and
    receiving are the same." The married affirmation would be:
    "I recognize that giving and receiving are the same, as I
    shift my attention from visible means of support to
    invisible means of support." These concepts are very
    important as you continue to lift your consciousness about
    abundance.
    Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus
    on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or
    some combination. You will receive each of these
    affirmations on the appropriate days with additional
    information and suggestions. Make your process work for
    you.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    September 8:
    I open to allow abundance to operate in my life. All my
    needs are met, in time and on time.

    September 9:
    I receive goodness from the Universe. Abundance is
    everywhere.

    September 10:
    I allow the energy of abundance to flow through me. I
    recognize that giving and receiving are the same.

    September 11:
    Dear God, allow me to embrace and experience abundance in
    every aspect of my life.

    September 12:
    Abundance, you are my friend. I have said good bye to lack.

    September 13:
    I accept abundance in all aspects of my life. I shift my
    attention from visible means of support to invisible means
    of support.

    September 14:
    I am ready right now to live joyously in abundance.

    Awareness

    “Relative to the level of awareness that is possible for us, our ordinary state of consciousness is as far from a direct experience of reality as sleep is from waking consciousness.”

    -- Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson

    “The thought ‘I exist’ is not the same thing as the awareness of one’s own existence. … Thought is not the same thing as consciousness.”

    -- Jacob Needleman

    A person asked Buddha:
    “Are you a God?”
    Buddha’s reply was
    “No.”
    “Are you an Angel?”
    “No.”
    “Then what are you?”
    “I am Awake.”

    Short Spiritual Stories

    With a determination to accomplish
    The highest welfare for all sentient beings,
    Who surpass even a wish-granting jewel
    I will learn to hold them supremely dear.

    Whenever I associate with others I will learn,
    To think of myself as the lowest among all,
    And respectfully hold others to be supreme,
    From the very depths of my heart.

    In all actions I will learn to search into my mind
    And as soon as an afflictive emotion arises
    Endangering myself and others,
    Will firmly face and avert it.

    I will learn to cherish all beings of bad nature
    And those oppressed by strong sins and sufferings,
    As if I had found a precious
    Treasury very difficult to find.

    When others out of jealousy treat me badly
    With abuse, slander, and so on,
    I will learn to take all loss
    And offer the victory to them.

    When one whom I have benefited with great hope
    Unreasonably hurts me very badly ,
    I will learn to view that person
    As an excellent spiritual guide.

    In short, I will learn to offer to everyone without exception,
    All help and happiness directly and indirectly,
    And respectfully take upon myself,
    All harm and suffering of my mothers.

    I will learn to keep these practices,
    Undefiled by the stains of the eight worldly conceptions,
    And by understanding all phenomena as like illusion,
    Be released from the bondage of attachment.

    Geshe Langri Tangpa Dorjey Sengey

    THE HIGHWAY TO SUCCESS IS A TOLL ROAD

    Whatever you want in life,
    you must give up something to get it.
    The greater the value,
    the greater the sacrifice required of you.

    There's a price to pay if you want to make things better,
    and a price you'll pay for just leaving things as they are.

    Nothing worthwhile comes easily to anyone.
    Work, continuous work and hard work,
    is the only way to accomplish results that last.
    Don't let the fear of change stop you from pursuing your dreams.

    There is no success at bargain basement prices.
    You must pay a price for success.

    I let Spirit (My Higher Self, God, My Spirit Guides, The
    One, The Force, Infinite Source) purify any remaining
    thoughts and feelings of limitation and poverty.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    On this last day of the Releasing/Cleansing Affirmations,
    trust Spirit to handle anything that you might have missed.
    Since you may have become so familiar with your limitations
    that you accept them as truth, surrender now to Spirit to
    handle the remains. Call higher power by whatever name you
    choose, or by all names that come to your awareness.
    Release. Release the need to release. Align with Spirit to
    raise your vibration. Put more trust in Spirit than in
    thoughts and feelings of limitation.
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    I often conduct guided meditations about the energy of
    abundance. Here is a small sample, which is designed to be
    read aloud. A pause is indicated as "......" so that you
    slow down generally and in particular at that place. This
    pause is a perfect time to close your eyes. Another option
    is to make a tape recording so that you can do this brief
    guided meditation with your eyes closed.
    You may also like to hear my meditations on MP3 files, which
    you can do without charge at the Voice of Jeanie Marshall,
    http://www.jmvoice.com
    Go deep within ...... deep within. ...... If you notice
    any distractions in your environment, remind yourself that
    there is an inner world and an outer world. ...... Now is
    a time to be focused on your inner world. ..... In this
    inner place, ask for an image that represents abundance.
    ...... Allow yourself to breathe deeply, ...... breathing
    in the light and breathing out anything unlike the light.
    Breathe in your image of abundance. ...... Breathe out
    darkness and release limitation. ...... Breathe in
    universal energy and breathe out belief in lack. ......
    Rest your attention on your image of abundance. ......
    Return your attention to your breath and linger as long as
    you choose in feelings of replenishment.
    ABOUT OTHER GUIDED MEDITATIONS
    I have written a longer guided meditation that is available
    at my Web Site: "Creating and Manifesting: A Guided
    Meditation." If you like the above very brief meditation,
    you will enjoy reading a fuller version. In addition, we
    offer two recorded meditations for online listening at
    ABOUT THE NEXT TYPE OF AFFIRMATIONS
    Tomorrow the very important Receiving/Accepting affirmations
    for abundance begin. Today is a good day to cleanse your
    home or office, to empty physical trash as well as emotional
    or mental trash. After emptying out, you may find yourself
    more receptive to accepting the abundance of the Universe.
    You may also want to re-visit your over-arching intention
    for abundance.
    Rain
    To those whom i miss,and to those who would miss me...let it rain a day,a week,a year...let it rain a thousand years a day..thats the divine answer to all the shed tears...thats the cyclic flood well known by those who know...one drop for every broken dream..and one for every conceived .....plan
    let cry the skies to clean the souls.
    Whether you...
     ...think you can, or you think you
    can’t, you’re right!”
    Sonnet # LXXIII.
    That time of year thou mayst in me behold
    When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
    Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
    Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
    In me thou seest the twilight of such day
    As after sunset fadeth in the west,
    Which by and by black night doth take away,
    Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
    In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire
    That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
    As the death-bed whereon it must expire
    Consumed with that which it was nourish'd by.
    This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong,
    To love that well which thou must leave ere long.
    What's your best routine?
    “For all my good intentions, there are days when things go wrong or I fall into old habits. When things are not going well, when I'm grumpy or mad, I'll realize that I've not been paying attention to my soul and I've not been following my best routine.”
    -- Robert Fulghum
    How do you need to bring more balance to your life?
    Robert Fulghum has shared, “The older I get, the more I realize the importance of exercising the various dimensions of my body, soul, mind and heart. Taken together, these aspects give me a sense of wholeness. I want to be a whole human being rather than one who limps on one leg because I don't know how to use all of my parts. Intellectual, emotional, and physical activity are not separate entities. Rather, they are dimensions of the same human being.”
    "There is an Indian Belief that everyone is in a house of four rooms: A physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room everyday, even if only to keep it aired, we are not complete."
    -- Rumer Godden
    DON'T BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, DEPEND ON THEM
    You don't need an explanation for everything.
    There are such things as miracles,
    events for which there are no ready explanations.
    Future knowledge may explain these events quite simply.
    Any form of sufficiently advanced technology
    can be quite indistinguishable from magic
    when it's introduced for the first time.
    Seeing, hearing, feeling are all miracles
    as well as each part of you.
    Seeing is not always believing.
    You know much more than you understand.
    Have the vision to see invisible things.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I dissolve thoughts that suggest there is not enough. I end
    preoccupation with money as the definition of abundance and
    self-worth.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    The belief in lack or "not enough" is so prevalent that even
    persons who are otherwise spiritually awakened often step
    into this belief by focusing on appearances and calling them
    truth. Here are two truths to ponder: the universe provides
    more than enough and you must align with Spirit (universal
    energy, God source, infinite intelligence) to manifest what
    you desire. A good way to align with Spirit is to close
    your eyes. With your outer eyes closed to duality, you can
    more easily see with the single (also called "third") eye of
    Spirit.
    With your physical eyes open, you tend to see the already-
    manifested matter and believe (erroneously) that this is all
    that exists and therefore must be divided. With your
    spiritual eye open (and your physical eyes closed until you
    have trained yourself to see spiritually), you are more able
    to perceive the infinite substance from which all physical
    things are manifested. The concept of division is limiting;
    the concept of multiplication resonates more closely with
    the unlimited and creative qualities of abundance.
    Manifestation is a constant expansion of Spirit.
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    So, how is your arithmetic? Do you live to add, subtract,
    multiply, or divide? To be an effective mathematician, you
    need to know how to do each procedure and to know when each
    one is appropriate. Using only these four possibilities
    (add or subtract or multiply or divide) as answers, how do
    you respond to the following questions: What do you do when
    you see a friend? What do you do when you open your check
    book? What do you do when you pick up the telephone to
    answer it? What do you do when you meditate? What do you
    do when you think about work? What do you do when you work?
    What do you do when you play? This month, if you are
    successful at subtracting only two negative misconceptions
    (or negating only two equations), let them be these: Money
    equals abundance; money equals your worth. Close your eyes
    and see more clearly.
    A Chance to Start Over.
    It was a cold December night in West Orange, New Jersey. Thomas Edison's
    factory was humming with activity. Work was proceeding on a variety of
    fronts as the great inventor was trying to turn more of his dreams into
    practical realities. Edison's plant, made of concrete and steel, was
    deemed "fireproof". As you may have already guessed, it wasn't!
    On that frigid night in 1914, the sky was lit up by a sensational blaze
    that had burst through the plant roof. Edison's 24-year-old son, Charles,
    made a frenzied search for his famous inventor-father. When he finally
    found him, he was watching the fire. His white hair was blowing in the
    wind. His face was illuminated by the leaping flames. "My heart ached for
    him," said Charles. "Here he was, 67 years old, and everything he had
    worked for was going up in flames. When he saw me, he shouted, 'Charles!
    Where's your mother?' When I told him I didn't know, he said, 'Find her!
    Bring her here! She'll never see anything like this as long as she
    lives.'"
    Next morning, Mr. Edison looked at the ruins of his factory and said this
    of his loss: "There's value in disaster. All our mistakes are burned up.
    Thank God, we can start anew."
    What a wonderful perspective on things that seem at first to be so
    disastrous. A business failure, divorce, personal dream gone sour . . .
    whether these things destroy an individual depends largely on the
    attitude he or she takes toward them. Sort out why it happened, and learn
    something from the blunders. Think of different approaches that can be
    taken.
    Start over.
    Who sets the standards you live by?
    “If I get to pick what I want to do, then it's play... if someone else tells me that I have to do it, then it's work.”
    -- Patricia Nourot
    Are you continually struggling to accomplish what is expected of you? If so, stop to think for a moment: who holds those expectations?
    Perhaps you’re trying to meet the expectations of a parent or a teacher or other authority figures who may be long gone from your life. But many of us toil under the critical eyes of a vague ‘somebody’ who always judges that we’ve never done enough or done things well enough. Who is this phantom judge? And do we need to care about what they think any longer?
    We find both our own power and happiness when we begin to set our own standards around what has heart and meaning for us.
    “Doubt yourself and you doubt everything you see. Judge yourself and you see judges everywhere. But if you listen to the sound of your own voice, you can rise above doubt and judgment. And you can see forever.”
    YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK
    Whatever you plant in your subconscious mind
    and nourish every day with conviction and emotion
    will one day become a reality.
    Constant repetition carries conviction.
    Repeat something often enough and it will start to become you.
    A change in what you tell yourself
    will result in a change in your behavior.
    What you impress upon your mind,
    you'll inevitably become.
    Self suggestion will make you master of yourself.
    I cut negative bonds of attachment to lack and limitation.
    I cancel the belief that struggle is noble.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    Today, cut, unhook, snip, unfasten, sever, unyoke, purge,
    chop, unplug, end, split, unbind, eliminate, liberate, burn,
    unknot, disentangle, nullify, remove, withdraw, eradicate,
    erase, obliterate, dig out, flush, explode, detach, cancel,
    disengage, or otherwise disconnect from beliefs in lack and
    limitation. In the affirmation, "cut" and "bonds" are used
    in very general ways; many other words can work as well. As
    to the idea that struggle is noble: I encourage you to honor
    that you can be noble and graceful at all times and that
    struggle itself is not noble. Struggle is also not necessary.

    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    Your work today is to disconnect from anyone or any thing
    that fosters your belief in lack and/or limitation. Here is
    an energetic exercise: (1) Allow your imagination to tell
    you what the "bond" to lack and/or limitation looks or feels
    or sounds like. (Hint: if your thoughts take you to
    remembering how the bond was created or who did what to
    whom, you have strayed off the exercise. Return to the
    sensate qualities of the bond itself.) (2) Identify the
    instrument or substance that disconnects or neutralizes the
    bond most effectively. (Examples: a metal pipe might
    require a blow torch and a crew of workers to remove all
    traces of the metal; a nylon string with a fish hook on the
    end may require scissors plus pliers to straighten the hook
    and gentle hands to remove it so there is no damage.) (3)
    Repeat (1) and (2) for any additional bonds. (4) Play,
    play, play. Let your imagination work for you. Your
    imagination worked when you created the illusion of lack and
    limitation, now you can use illusion to erase the false
    belief. Step into your truth.

    O, lest the world should task you to recite
    What merit lived in me, that you should love
    After my death, dear love, forget me quite,
    For you in me can nothing worthy prove;
    Unless you would devise some virtuous lie,
    To do more for me than mine own desert,
    And hang more praise upon deceased I
    Than niggard truth would willingly impart:
    O, lest your true love may seem false in this,
    That you for love speak well of me untrue,
    My name be buried where my body is,
    And live no more to shame nor me nor you.
    For I am shamed by that which I bring forth,
    And so should you, to love things nothing worth.

    Becoming Free - A Reminder of the Principles of Life

    1: Life does not work through indecision. Indecision promotes blocks,
    confusion and stress. Make a decision and allow life to find movement
    through you. Trust yourself.

    2: The 3 C's of life are Courage, Capacity and Commitment. It takes
    Courage and a commitment to make many of life's decisions, and capacity
    to follow them through. The 3 C's of a successful relationship are
    Caring, Consideration and Communication. Communication opens the door
    between us, consideration allows us to pass through it and our ability to
    care for each other unites us.

    3: Truth is not truth out of timing- yet it remains truth. We are the
    timing to recognize truth.

    4: The mind recoils from the unknown, so we seek to make everything
    known, and, thus sage. Imagination is the key to the unknown- positive,
    uplifting imagination.

    5: For as long as we search for Our God Self, we deny that we are it.
    Loving your self reveals your truth.

    6: Becoming free is not changing yourself into someone you think you
    should be. Becoming free is falling in love with who you are- right now.

    7: Imagine a room of pitch dark and a room of bright light connected by a
    door. When you open the door what happens? Light floods into the dark
    room, illuminating it. Live accordingly, think thoughts of light.

    8: F.E.A.R- False Evidence Appearing Real

    9: Anything of the past that is unresolved is unresolved now. Living NOW
    resolves the past.

    10: Life flows from the inside out, never the reverse. Understand this
    and you cease to be a victim.

    11: Love responds- fear reacts. Love connects- fear separates. Love
    uplifts- fear deflates. Love creates- fear destroys.

    12: There is no such thing as a mistake- only experience. There is no
    such thing as failure- only people's condemnation. There is no such thing
    as success- only people's approval. Let life live through you.

    13: Do not get caught up in modifying your life, allow life to change
    YOU. Modification is a superficial exterior veneer, change is an inner
    shift in consciousness.

    14: Pain is a measure of your resistance to change.

    15: Decide whether you want to be an onlooker of life or a participant.
    This is the birthplace of choice.

    16: You hear with your ears- but you listen with your mind. You look with
    your eyes- but you see from the heart.

    17: Consciousness is not contained in your body- you are the
    consciousness that contains the body. Consciousness draws to itself form
    through which to express

    18: Your mind cannot exist in the moment. You cannot think your way into
    the moment, you can only think your way out of it. This indicates that
    your mind/intellect cannot set you free. Only your consciousness is aware
    of NOW. True freedom is a state of consciousness.

    19: We each live in our own universe, a universe of our making. It is
    designed to support our beliefs and our focus. Our thoughts are our
    focus, so observe your thoughts, focus on your blessings, and trust. This
    is how you become a participant.

    20: Practise seeing all life around you as an aspect of yourself. In this
    way you shatter the illusion of separation.

    21: Your mind does now know the difference between what you do want or
    what you don't want, it only knows what you focus on. Many people focus
    on what they don't have, what they are incapable of doing and their
    sicknesses.

    22: If you focus on what you do have, it increases. If you focus on what
    you don't have, you will have even less. If you focus on your
    capabilities, they grow, if you focus on your health, it improves.

    23: Your mind does not know the difference between a powerfully imagined
    reality and a physical happening reality. Why? Because there is no
    difference.

    24: You only have a problem if you believe you have a problem.

    25: Liv e these principles and you will be practising reality. Practise
    reality until you overcome the illusion. It is only an illusion that you
    are not free, now!

    Embracing Your Shadow, part two

    "The gold is in the dark."

    -Carl Jung

    Last week, I shared some ideas on how you could create more
    freedom in your life by embracing those parts of yourself that
    you wish weren't or think shouldn't be there.

    If you missed part one, you can read it online at:
    http://www.geniuscatalyst.com/public/ets.php

    This week, I want to focus on a different unowned aspect of
    ourselves, sometimes referred to by Jungians as 'the positive
    shadow'.

    The positive shadow is made up of those positive traits you see
    in others but think couldn't possibly be there in you. It is
    the 'hiding place' of your unclaimed genius, greatness and
    capacity.

    In the case of the positive shadow, we can see its impact in our
    unfulfilled aspirations, our seemingly endless quest for
    self-improvement, and often surprisingly in our personal
    heroes.

    Whether your heroes are popular actors or musicians ('I could
    never be that popular/handsome/beautiful/wealthy/successful'),
    Nobel Prize winners ('I could never be that
    smart/powerful/impactful') or religious super-stars ('I could
    never be that wise/spiritual/enlightened'), we tend to put them
    high up on a pedestal, ensuring both that we can never reach
    them and that one day they'll fall from their lofty perch and
    we'll be crushed.

    Now, remember the two 'rules' of embracing your shadow:

    1. When you disown a part of yourself, it winds up running your
    life.

    2. Once you embrace or 'own' that part, it no longer runs your
    life.

    To these rules, I will now add a third:

    3. Whatever you admire in others, you also have within you.

    The reason you haven't yet claimed the greatness within yourself
    may be a simple lack of recognition (i.e. nobody told you to
    look), but is often the lingering after-effect of childhood
    hypnosis.

    If the people in your life when you were growing up explicitly
    told you or implicitly insinuated that *you* weren't great or
    special or smart or creative or artistic or whatever, chances
    are you are still living out of that belief as a sort of
    'post-hypnotic suggestion' in your life today.

    Or you may have simply hypnotized yourself into believing it,
    repeatedly telling yourself you weren't capable of doing what
    the big people around you could do, usually because at that age,
    you probably weren't.

    Today's experiment invites you to take a closer look to where
    you already exhibit those traits you so wish you had in your
    life, and will also begin to wake you up from the 'not good
    enough' trance so many of us spent our childhoods living in...

    -----------------------------------------------------
    Today's Experiment - Reclaiming your Positive Shadow:
    -----------------------------------------------------

    (This experiment is influenced by the work of Dr. John F.
    DeMartini. See the 'Want to Learn More?' section at the end of
    the tip to learn more!)

    1. Who are the three people you most admire in the whole world?

    2. For each person, ask yourself what it is about them that you
    admire. What do people say about them you wish they would say
    about you?

    3. What's the most flattering thing that anyone could ever say
    about you (even if you 'know' it's not true)?

    4. Instead of creating an affirmation for any positive traits
    you have identified, take some time to look for where you
    already exhibit.

    Here are some questions to get you started:

    *Who are at least five people who already see this trait in me?

    *Where have I exhibited this trait in the past? Where am I
    exhibiting it in my life now? Where will I exhibit it in the
    future?

    *In which of the following areas of my life do I exhibit this
    trait?

    a. Physical
    b. Mental
    c. Spiritual
    d. Work
    e. Finances
    f. Social
    g. Family

    Feel free to push yourself past the first three (or three
    dozen!) times you tell yourself 'nobody thinks this of me and it
    is not true in any area of my life'. In the same way as you
    may not have been able to find your keys or the salt or even
    your car when they were right in front of you all the time, your
    strengths, gifts and genius are often hidden in plain sight
    until someone points them out to you.

    If you really struggle with completing this experiment, you
    might just be too scared to really look. In exploring this
    possibility, consider these famous (though often misattributed)
    words from author and speaker Marianne Williamson:

    "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest
    fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light,
    not our darkness that most frightens us.

    We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented,
    fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of
    God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is
    nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't
    feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children
    do.

    We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within
    us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let
    our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people
    permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own
    fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

    Have fun, learn heaps, and catalyze your genius!

    With love,
    michael

    I release memories that allowed belief in poverty and
    limitation. The Angel of Abundance assists me in letting go
    of false beliefs.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    Memories of past experiences can be relived again and again
    and again in your thoughts. Historic memories that you do
    not recall personally can be viewed on television or the
    movies in full color, including music to further embed the
    memory! The Angel of Abundance does not collude with the
    beliefs in limitations that human beings defend as truth.
    Angels only work with love and highest good, so you cannot
    manipulate them to do something that is not aligned with
    integrity. Angels live in the present and in the Presence,
    willingly lift off the toxicity of limited beliefs, if you
    ask them. You can request angelic help for yourself and
    others. I ask that angels come closer to you and to all
    those who read this message.
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    If you are willing to invest ten minutes to release
    limitations, you can do the following exercise. Identify a
    past experience (a memory) that suggests poverty or
    limitation. It may be dramatic or mild, long ago or recent.
    Trust whatever comes to your awareness. Then write down or
    type out a few words that describe the memory, e.g., "Mother
    said, 'We don't have enough money for that.'" Or, "I saw
    people begging for food." Keep it simple. When you have
    your few words, take three deep breaths.... Begin to see or
    imagine that you see light or angels or spiritual helpers
    come right into the description you have written. This
    spiritual energy then moves into the memory itself to
    dissipate the limiting belief associated with the memory.
    Continue for several minutes; remember this energy is
    unlimited. Feel goodness and lightness. Now, (and this is
    the most important) do something else that makes you feel
    good.
    Giving Hope to Tose in Need
    "There isn´t enough darkness in all the world to snuff out the light of
    one little candle."
    -- Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta
    ~*~ Topic of the Week - Giving Hope to Those in Need ~*~
    As a little girl, one of my favorite memories is of lighting candles with
    my mother at church. Often after the service, we would approach the bank
    of candles near the altar and kneel to pray for someone in need -- a
    neighbor diagnosed with a serious illness, an aunt who lost a job, or
    sometimes for people we didn't know who had experienced a disaster
    somewhere in the world. Once we finished praying, we'd stand, gently pull
    a matchstick from a container of sand, touch the long, thin, piece of wood
    to the flame of a candle already lit by someone else, and light a candle
    of our own. As a young girl I believed there was magic in that light.
    This ritual has stayed with me. Often when I'm in New York for example, I
    stop at St. Patrick's Cathedral to light candles. To me, the lighting of
    a candle for someone in need is a powerful ritual that reflects our
    connection to one another. When I touch a matchstick to a candle that's
    already been lit by someone else, I imagine myself passing a tiny torch of
    hope from one stranger to another with the unspoken recognition that we
    need each other, that we have the power to heal each other with our love,
    and that when we join together with intention, the radiance of light can
    overcome any darkness.
    This week, I light candles for several people. First, for my neighbors
    Steve and Sue Hines (and their children Ashley, Michael, and Trevor), who
    lost their son Derek this time last year when he came under attack by
    enemy forces while serving in Afghanistan. Those of us in the
    neighborhood watched Derek grow up to be an amazing young man filled with
    integrity, grace and courage, and his presence is sorely missed in the
    community.
    I also light a candle for those family members and friends who continue to
    feel the pain of loss from the horrific events of September 11th. As many
    of you who read my book on grace know, that event had personal
    significance for me and I will never forget the thousands of people whose
    lives were changed forever. I honor them and I invite you to take a
    moment to remember them, too.
    Finally, I light candles for those who continue to suffer from the tragedy
    of Hurricane Katrina. This weekend, after watching the premier of Spike
    Lee's new documentary called "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four
    Acts," I feel compelled to do what I can to spread the word about how
    horrible the situation still is for so many families affected by the
    hurricane. They need our light, our prayers, our resources and our ongoing
    support.
    This week, along with remembering those in need, please take a moment to
    light a candle. You don't need to visit a church. You can light one
    right now in your own private sanctuary at home. I don't know about you,
    but I still choose to believe in the magic of that light . . .
    ~*~ Take Action Challenge ~*~
    Take a moment to think about someone who could use your love. It may be
    someone you know like a good friend who just ended a relationship, or a
    sister who's going through a tough time with her son. It might be a
    stranger -- someone still struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane
    Katrina or a widow who is recovering from the loss of her partner. Take a
    moment to light a candle and say a prayer. Join me in passing a tiny
    torch of hope . . .
    On immortality
    Hope
                   Eser Afacan
    How do human beings respond to changes?
    Badly. Always very badly. One of the most widespread myths in the whole world – the myth of the vampire – reflects this idea.
    What is a vampire? It is someone who at a certain moment in their existence becomes immortal. In other words, after that moment their body will no longer follow the normal course of nature; they will become forever young, and they can live as long as they like without having to deal with problems caused by growing old.
    The vampire’s only diet is a little blood every day, and their only care with their skin is to avoid sunlight – but after all, this is a very small price to pay to enjoy all the possibilities of eternal life.
    Except for one thing: vampires stop in time, while the world carries on changing. Everything that they were always used to begins to change, and even though they have all the time in the world to adapt to these changes, they desire immortality precisely because they were happy with the world in which they lived. They are not interested in accompanying these changes.
    Let us imagine a human being who becomes a vampire right at the finals of the 1986 World Cup. He could smoke on airplanes, did not need to puzzle over picking what channel to watch on the television – the choice was so limited. He had an actress for a sex symbol, understood all about carburetors and fought for his socialist ideal, convinced that the Soviet Union would soon have more capable governors, and the yearnings of the people (called the proletariat) would at last be respected.
    One fine day he falls in love with a 22-year-old sociology student. He admires her beauty, her enthusiasm, her idealism. He suggests transforming her into a vampire, but she refuses – she has seen too many horror films. She is in love too and does not want to lose him, but she sets one single condition for going ahead with their relationship: he must never suck her blood. The vampire has no choice but to keep his word. They get married in the registry office to avoid mortal crucifixes.
    Twenty years roll by - in fact fly by, because another four World Cups have taken place. The former university student is now 42 years old, working in a bank (unemployment problems) or else writing useless Master’s and Ph.D. theses and dissertations merely to justify her life as a professional student. Carburetors have disappeared from the face of the earth. In horror he leafs through a magazine and sees his old sex-symbol actress transformed into a hybrid product made of plastic, Botox and silicone, her face coated with tons of makeup. He feels guilty for having 200 TV channels and only watches the same ones as long ago.
    The Soviet Union has collapsed. He was obliged to abandon his beloved cigarettes (although it did not affect his health, don’t forget that vampires are immortal), because smoking became impossible, either because of laws or because of the way people looked at him in restaurants. And worst of all: everyone is talking about chat, Internet, iPod, rave and so on. The vampire tries to keep up to date, but everything seems absolutely complicated, irritating and senseless. He looks at the computer as if he were looking at a clove of garlic – with a mixture of horror and impotence. He will never be able to manage one of those, although he has tried several times.
    His friends are retired, spend their days playing cards – they also do not know how to deal with computers, but they do not mind, the group has grown old together, they all have the same interests and can share experiences.
    The vampire stays young. Immortal. Now he is faced with eternal depression. He attempts suicide, going out in the sunlight or looking at crucifixes, only to discover that these were myths created by the Church and cause him no harm at all.
    He is left with one consolation: there is still one political figure that he knows all about (because all the other governors across the world have changed).
    But Fidel Castro will also pass. And then nothing, absolutely nothing, will remain of the world that the vampire once loved so much.
    Personal Power
    “The deep root of failure in our lives is to think, ‘Oh how useless and powerless I am.’ It is essential to think strongly and forcefully, ‘I can do it,’ without boasting or fretting.”
    -- Dalai Lama
    Angeles Arrien says that whether we are male or female, we need to develop three kinds of power. People who hold these three powers cannot be ignored.
    1. Power of presence – Being really present in each moment
    2. Power of communication – Speaking my truth
    3. Power of position – Being willing to take a stand
    “A man’s true state of power and riches is to be in himself.”
    -- Henry Ward Beecher
    “We are no longer puppets being manipulated by outside powerful forces; we become the powerful force ourselves.”
    -- Leo Buscaglia
    Children - From the 'Prophet'
    "Your children are not your children.
    They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
    They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet
    they belong not to you.
    You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their
    own thoughts.
    You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in
    the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
    You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For
    life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
    You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent
    forth.
    The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you
    with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in
    the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as he loves the arrow that
    flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable."
    I let go of all blockages to abundance. Resistance
    dissolves. Jealousy transmutes. Inadequacy dissipates.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    Humans have a lot in common with houses. One commonality is
    that both have to be cleaned regularly. The affirmations
    this week are intended to assist in this cleaning and
    clearing. Resistance, jealousy, and inadequacy collected
    from past experiences are just some of the dynamics that
    clutter up the energy field. As you let them go by taking
    them to the energetic trash bin, space is created for the
    abundance of spirit. Keep in mind that these dynamics to be
    released are those that have collected in the energy field,
    not thoughts and emotions that are honest expressions of
    today's experiences. When you no longer have clutter from
    the past, you are self-cleaning.

    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    When you come across a file from 1989 that has no interest
    or relevance to you today, what do you do with it? I expect
    the answer is that you take it to the recycling bin or the
    paper shredder, where angels are waiting for this raw
    material to transform its energy for more useful purposes
    than creating confusion with the present files. As you work
    with today's affirmation (and, as always, feel free to
    change the words if others resonate more closely for you),
    you may also want to clean out a closet or a drawer or
    cabinet. What you do on one level impacts other levels.
    So, clean, wash, scrub. Remember to do it joyously.

    I rescind obsolete vows of struggle, poverty, sacrifice,
    and unworthiness.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
    This "rescinding vows of limitation" affirmation applies
    only to outdated vows, not to current, desired vows. A vow
    is an oath, promise, pledge, commitment, declaration, etc.
    When initially promised, vows may have been conscious or
    unconscious, formal or informal, intentional or
    unintentional, religious or secular. Words such as "never"
    and "always" and "forever" punctuate vows with longevity
    (eternity is a long time). Intensity adds further impact.
    "I'll never be good enough" is a powerful vow of limitation.
    "I will struggle to my death" is a vow of limitation which
    can be active according to your beliefs about death. "I
    give all my money and property to God" is a rather
    interesting vow of poverty, since the universal source of
    energy does not have much use for money or property. Many
    such vows have been reinforced in the energy field
    generation after generation, transferred through culture,
    custom, and heredity. As you release these outdated vows,
    you also release yourself, which many refer to as
    "forgiveness."
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    In addition to working with today's affirmation by writing
    or saying it repeatedly, you may find it helpful to identify
    the exact vow or statement that you most desire to rescind.
    What past vows of limitation are relevant to your situation?
    "You'll never have everything you want" may be the statement
    of a loving parent cushioning a child against disappointment,
    but it has the impact of a vow of limitation for the child
    who grows to an adult with the same limitation. Someone
    growing up with the adage "The love of money is the root of
    all evil" is unlikely to have a positive relationship with
    money, or love for that matter. "If you work hard, you will
    make money" has a panorama of paths to conditions of
    happiness or unhappiness, easy or hard work, money or lack
    of it.
    Creation - A Sioux Indian Story
    The Creator gathered all of Creation and said,
    "I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it. It
    is the realization that they create their own reality."
    The eagle said, "Give it to me, I will take it to the moon."
    The Creator said, "No. One day they will go there and find it."
    The salmon said, "I will bury it on the bottom of the ocean."
    "No. They will go there too."
    The buffalo said, "I will bury it on the Great Plains."
    The Creator said, "They will cut into the skin of the Earth and find it
    even there."
    Grandmother Mole, who lives in the breast of Mother Earth, and who has no
    physical eyes but sees with spiritual eyes,
    said, "Put it inside of them."
    And the Creator said, "It is done."
    Living the adventure
    “I do not accept any absolute formulas for living. No preconceived code can see ahead to everything that can happen in a man’s life. As we live, we grow and our beliefs change. They must change. So I think we should live with this constant discovery. We should be open to this adventure in heightened awareness of living. We should stake our whole existence on our willingness to explore and experience.”
    Sonnet # LXXI.
    No longer mourn for me when I am dead
    Then you shall hear the surly sullen bell
    Give warning to the world that I am fled
    From this vile world, with vilest worms to dwell:
    Nay, if you read this line, remember not
    The hand that writ it; for I love you so
    That I in your sweet thoughts would be forgot
    If thinking on me then should make you woe.
    O, if, I say, you look upon this verse
    When I perhaps compounded am with clay,
    Do not so much as my poor name rehearse.
    But let your love even with my life decay,
    Lest the wise world should look into your moan
    And mock you with me after I am gone.
    Crime and Punishment - From the 'Prophet'
    "It is when your spirit goes wandering upon the wind, That you, alone and
    unguarded, commit a wrong unto others and therefore unto yourself. And
    for that wrong committed must you knock and wait a while unheeded at the
    gate of the blessed.
    Like the ocean is your god-self; It remains for ever undefiled. And like
    the ether it lifts but the winged. Even like the sun is your god-self; It
    knows not the ways of the mole nor seeks it the holes of the serpent. But
    your god-self does not dwell alone in your being. Much in you is still
    man, and much in you is not yet man, But a shapeless pigmy that walks
    asleep in the mist searching for its own awakening. And of the man in you
    would I now speak.
    For it is he and not your god-self nor the pigmy in the mist, that knows
    crime and the punishment of crime.
    Oftentimes have I heard you speak of one who commits a wrong as though he
    were not one of you, but a stranger unto you and an intruder upon y our
    world. But I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise
    beyond the highest which is in each one of you, So the wicked and the
    weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.
    And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of
    the whole tree, So the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will
    of you all.
    Like a procession you walk together towards your god-self. You are the
    way and the wayfarers. And when one of you falls down he falls for those
    behind him, a caution against the stumbling stone. Ay, and he falls for
    those ahead of him, who though faster and surer of foot, yet removed not
    the stumbling stone.
    And this also, though the word lie heavy upon your hearts: The murdered
    is not unaccountable for his own murder, And the robbed is not blameless
    in being robbed. The righteous is not innocent of the deeds of the
    wicked, And the white-handed is not clean in the doings of the felon.
    < br> Yea, the guilty is oftentimes the victim of the injured, And still
    more often the condemned is the burden-bearer for the guiltless and
    unblamed. You cannot separate the just from the unjust and the good from
    the wicked; For they stand together before the face of the sun even as
    the black thread and the white are woven together. And when the black
    thread breaks, the weaver shall look into the whole cloth, and he shall
    examine the loom also.
    If any of you would bring judgment the unfaithful wife, Let him also
    weight the heart of her husband in scales, and measure his soul with
    measurements.
    And let him who would lash the offender look unto the spirit of the
    offended. And if any of you would punish in the name of righteousness and
    lay the ax unto the evil tree, let him see to its roots; And verily he
    will find the roots of the good and the bad, the fruitful and the
    fruitless, all entwined together in the silent heart of the earth.
    And you judge s who would be just, What judgment pronounce you upon him
    who though honest in the flesh yet is a thief in spirit? What penalty lay
    you upon him who slays in the flesh yet is himself slain in the spirit?
    And how prosecute you him who in action is a deceiver and an oppressor,
    Yet who also is aggrieved and outraged?
    And how shall you punish those whose remorse is already greater than
    their misdeeds? Is not remorse the justice which is administered by that
    very law which you would fain serve? Yet you cannot lay remorse upon the
    innocent nor lift it from the heart of the guilty.
    Unbidden shall it call in the night, that men may wake and gaze upon
    themselves. And you who would understand justice, how shall you unless
    you look upon all deeds in the fullness of light?
    Only then shall you know that the erect and the fallen are but one man
    standing in twilight between the night of his pigmy-self and the day of
    his god-self, And that the corner-stone of t he temple is not higher than
    the lowest stone in its foundation."
    ABOUT YOUR INTENTION
    If you have not already done so, please identify your over-
    arching intention for Abundance. That is, develop a
    statement that guides you in the exploration and embodiment
    of abundance. Intention is the energy or consciousness from
    which actions emerge. If you are uncertain how to write
    this intention, just make an attempt. Keep it simple. You
    have 30 days to work with the intention and the theme, so
    let your statement change and deepen. Here are a few
    suggestions for statements of intention about the theme of
    Abundance: *To live in the constant realization that all
    my needs are met. *I realize that I manifest from Spirit,
    not from the physical. *To know in each moment that I
    create my life from the abundance of the universe. *I know
    that all my needs are met.
    ABOUT RELEASING/CLEANSING AFFIRMATIONS and ABUNDANCE
    Humanity has an abundance of thoughts and feelings about
    abundance and anti-abundance! Most individuals have
    negative thoughts and feelings about money, adequacy,
    prosperity, wellness, abundance, worthiness, magnificence,
    and poverty. These negative thoughts and feelings manifest
    the experiences that further justify negative thoughts and
    feelings. In that last sentence lies the truth which can be
    restated: Thoughts and feelings manifest experiences that
    create more thoughts and feelings to justify the thoughts
    and feelings. This week, your job is to become aware of and
    work more constructively with negative thoughts and feelings
    so that they do not dominate your experiences. I encourage
    you to enter into this as a joyous adventure.
    ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
    As you are releasing anti-abundance this week, you will
    enhance your process by finding ways to shift quickly from
    anti-abundance to something more pleasant. Detoxifying the
    mental and emotional layers during this week of releasing
    can be similar to symptoms of fasting from food, such as
    headache, grogginess, dizziness, general discomfort, mild
    depression. While it is not necessary to have any of these
    symptoms, if you do, briefly acknowledge the symptom and
    move your attention to something else. The realization
    that these symptoms are indications of toxins LEAVING the
    body is often enough to cooperate with the process by
    drinking lots of water, resting, listening to relaxing
    music, and refraining from the input of more toxins. And
    remember, it is not necessary to be uncomfortable. If you
    are, just know that it will pass and that the discomfort is
    a sign of success.
    I recommend that you write this week's affirmations, if such
    a process appeals to you. I have developed a process which
    is described in the book, "Affirmations: A Pathway to
    Transformation" and in the article entitled, "Writing
    Affirmations for Empowerment." This article is posted at my
    Web site along with 40 others, http://www.mhmail.com and
    then click on Articles by Jeanie.
    ABOUT THE AFFIRMATIONS
    If I were to select the definitive affirmation for the week
    to represent releasing and cleansing for Abundance it would
    be the "rescinding vows of limitations" affirmation for
    September 2: "I rescind old vows of struggle, poverty,
    sacrifice, and unworthiness." I consider the retention of
    outdated vows is one of the primary deterrents to accepting
    abundance into your life. For some bizarre reason, humanity
    has accepted that it is more spiritual to be impoverished
    than to be prosperous, that somehow you are more acceptable
    in the eyes of God if you are lowly, broken creatures, that
    you do not deserve your heart's desires. These are
    debilitating false beliefs which you can shift. So, shift
    your belief in broken human beings to beliefs that are more
    empowering.
    Following are all seven affirmations. Select one to focus
    on for the week or use a different affirmation each day or
    some combination. You will receive each of these
    affirmations on the appropriate days with additional
    information and suggestions. Make your process work for
    you.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    September 1:
    I give myself permission to release lack easily and
    effortlessly from every level of the energy field.

    September 2:
    I rescind obsolete vows of struggle, poverty, sacrifice, and
    unworthiness.

    September 3:
    I let go of all blockages to abundance. Resistance dissolves.
    Jealousy transmutes. Inadequacy dissipates.

    September 4:
    I release memories that allowed belief in poverty and
    limitation. The Angel of Abundance assists me in letting go
    of false beliefs.

    September 5:
    I cut negative bonds of attachment to lack and limitation.
    I cancel the belief that struggle is noble.

    September 6:
    I dissolve thoughts that suggest there is not enough. I end
    preoccupation with money as the definition of abundance and
    self-worth.

    September 7:
    I let Spirit (My Higher Self, God, My Spirit Guides, The One,
    The Force, Infinite Source) purify any remaining thoughts
    and feelings of limitation and poverty.

    Miraculous Manifesting Stories for You!

    By Margot Zaher and Jafree Ozwald
    http://www.Enlightenedbeings.com

    "If you can believe it, you can achieve it." ~Napoleon Hill

    Do you have a life dream or desire that you feel is out of reach?
    Most of us have at least one big desire or life dream we think is too
    big to achieve and probably will never manifest. The most interesting
    thing we have found about desire is that if you truly HAVE a deep
    desire in your heart for something, you also contain the mechanics
    for manifesting it. Often the one thing that people are missing in
    their manifesting toolbox is a strong, confident and positive belief
    that they can manifest exactly what they desire.

    For many centuries in the world of running, no human being could run
    one mile in less than four minutes. It was known as "humanly
    impossible" at the time, and a feat that was out of our reach.
    Everyone believed this except for a man named Roger Bannister who
    believed and KNEW that it was possible. He trained his mind to move
    past the limitations of the negative beliefs of those around him and
    repeatedly told himself he could do it. Then it happened one blustery
    afternoon in May of 1954 he broke the four-minute mile. The amazing
    part of this story is that the same year many other runners ran it
    faster than 4 minutes too! It was as if others were waiting to know
    that it was possible first before they could achieve it as well.

    "Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at
    once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action."
    ~Napoleon Hill

    So the big question right now is what do you think is impossible for
    you to achieve in your life? There is something magical about the
    power of believing that if you can dream it, you can achieve it. It's
    as if the entire Universe is right behind you, supporting your every
    belief. If you believe you can do it, you eventually will...and if
    you believe it will never happen, it won't. The energy and power
    behind a belief is what creates a miraculous life or a life that is
    simply ordinary. The choice is always yours. However, if you truly
    want to see miracles happen today in your life, you need to step out
    of your limited box of thinking now. To open your mind to the
    possibility that anything is possible is the first step in
    manifesting whatever it is you desire. The second step is to surround
    yourself with the knowledge of other human beings who were once
    exactly like you, yet have achieved what you wanted and more.

    The following true stories are emails we have received from the
    people who have been actively using our 90 Day Manifesting Program.
    May their experiences help you break out of any limiting belief-shell
    you may feel stuck beneath and inspire you to actively step into
    being the powerful manifestor you already are. Enjoy!

    "Since January 2006, I had only one real estate deal. This is quite
    shocking for being one of the top producers. Where were the buyers
    for the 12 listings I am marketing? Why were the buyers so
    indecisive? Well, time for Jafree and all my emails that I did not
    delete as Spam from enlightened beings. I purchased the Super
    Manifesting Package and within a week of listening to money
    manifestation meditations I received a new construction listing at
    $3,995,000 in Bedford, NY! Believe it or not, after only 6 days, we
    have received an offer very close to the list price. In addition, I
    obtained a listing for $1,850,000 in Greenwich CT and presented an
    offer of $950,000 on another Greenwich property. I also closed on two
    properties one for $837,500 in Norwalk CT and another for $420,000 in
    Stamford, CT. It seems I am manifesting money all over the Counties!
    I think the $139.00 investment was definitely worth the price based
    on my 10,000% return!"

    Thanks. D.P. Greenwich , CT

    "Through reading the Manifesting materials, meditating, and
    application, I am living all the time in expectation of my heart's
    desires being fulfilled and this really blows my mind. I am a novice
    but look what is happening!

    1. I am losing inches off of my waist and my stomach is flattening
    without exercising.
    2. My personal relationship is rekindling in a more authentic way.
    3. My business is thriving at a faster pace than before.
    4. My emotional, psychological, and mental factors are improving day
    by day.
    5. My spiritual path is active and strong as I am loving God more and
    more.
    6. My energy level is up, up, and up.
    7. I AM LIVING IN THE NOW!!!

    Out of all of my miracles number 7 is the best. I am no longer a
    victim and for that I say thank you Jafree for blessing us all!"

    Much love. ~Muriel Walker, Gainesville, Florida

    "When I wrote a few days ago, I was going through a wave experience
    where I had applied for a management job which will be fun, and bring
    in quantumly more income than I've made ever in my life!! I waited a
    whole week to find out what was going on, and during that week all my
    little insecurities and doubts about myself rose to the surface. I
    had made a commitment to start the 90 day program again on August
    1st. Today is August 22, and I begin my new job tomorrow!! If I had
    let myself worry and fret, it would have all been for naught. What I
    did was read the materials a little bit everyday, and it kept me
    buoyant throughout the experience. Thanks again! The course has truly
    changed my life! I can't wait to see what other great things I
    manifest in the next two and a half months!

    Much love, Melinda

    SUCCESS IS A MATTER OF EXPECTATION

    You must first expect to succeed if you want to succeed.
    When you expect good things to happen,
    strangely enough, they will happen.

    Your expectation energizes your goals and gives them momentum.
    Since your life will always respond to your outlook, set your goals high.

    The dreams you choose to believe in will come to be.
    You can't expect to succeed beyond your wildest expectations
    unless you begin with some pretty wild expectations.
